Chapter Three

Robin's Point of View

I was sitting in the library of the house,
well Franklin would argue it's more of a cabin, nonetheless I was sitting reading one of my favorite books. I had always had a love for Shakespeare's work, ever since he first wrote it I had loved it. I smiled as I got to the climax, although I knew what was going to happen it was always enjoyable to see it play out. As I was reading I heard a rather large commotion coming from the entrance hall. "Momma Robin!" I heard Naomi call. My blood ran even colder when I heard the fear in her voice. I immediately rushed downstairs to find her cradling a bloody and bruised child. "Lu found her when he was in Forks." She explained, gently holding the baby. I reached down and picked her up. "Luka, go clean up, Casey honey, go find Travis." I said sternly, carrying the baby to the med room. Being so far out in the wilderness meant that we often took care of our own medical needs. A few minutes later Travis walked in. I was already checking the child over for injuries. "What's wrong with them?" Travis asked, pulling on a doctor's coat. He acted as the houses main doctor. "Broken arm, cracked ribs, it looks like she's been thrown several times." I replied. Travis scowled. "What type of monster would do that to a baby?" He asked in disgust. "Luka says he smelt vampire when she found her." Naomi said, walking in. "Poor thing, will she live?" My eldest daughter asked in concern. I nodded. "She seems to be a fighter." I replied, gently touching her cheek with my hand. Suddenly I was overwhelmed with a feeling of immense pain and sorrow, but also the tiniest glimmer of hope. I scowled. "What's wrong Momma?" Naomi asked. "This poor child has been through so much, yet she still wants to live." I said as Travis began to patch the child up. During this time Travis whistled quietly. I looked over at him. "What is it?" I asked. "This kid has the greenest eyes I've ever seen." He replied with a smile. I looked over at the baby, who was looking up at us in amazement and curiosity. "Green as Jade." Naomi said, and I smiled. "Then that's what we'll call her, Jade."

At the Cullen's House

Carlisle's Point of View

I frowned as I looked at my son who scowled at me. "You don't know what that monster was thinking! She was planning on hurting Renesseme." Jacob frowned at this, holding Renesseme close to his chest. "She was a baby Edward, your baby-" "That thing was no daughter of mine! She killed Bella!" Edward yelled, cutting me off. "We could have found a better way to deal with it instead of you killing her." I snapped back. Edward frowned as Renesseme began to cry. He immediately rushed over and took his daughter from Jacob. I sighed. "It wasn't fair for her to die Edward." I said quietly. "It was either it or Renesseme, and I made my choice." He said, walking out of the room followed by Jacob.
