Chapter Four

Jade's Point of View

It had been a week since I came to live with the Blackwood's. In that time I had grown from a baby to a toddler. Momma Robin said that this was due to me being half vampire. She was really smart and kind. I was currently sitting with my big brother Casey in the family room reading. Me and Casey got along the best because we were the youngest ones. Casey was twelve. I smiled as he read aloud to me from a storybook. The big house was pretty quiet, which was weird. Naomi and Sammy were in the kitchen. Sammy may be a vampire, but he's a really good cook, which is handy because those of us who can eat eat a lot. Especially like my Big Brother Lu. He was out hunting with Travis, who's his imprint. Lily, Travis's little sister, was out hunting as well. Momma Robin and Papa Franky along with Grandpa Ben all went into the city to hunt. They fed in humans but only bad ones. Usain did too but he was upstairs in his room. Zack was probably somewhere sleeping. That's his favorite thing to do. Suddenly there was a knock of the front door. I climbed down off the couch but Naomi came over and picked me back up, setting me down. "Stay here Trouble." She said, booping my nose which made me giggle. She sped over to the door and opened it up, revealing a black haired girl who reminded me of a pixie and a blond haired man. I could tell by the way they smelt that they were vampires like Momma Robin or Papa Franky or Grandpa Ben, or Usain or Sammy or Naomi. I was curious as to why they were here but I didn't say anything.

Naomi's Point of View

I heard someone knocking on the door, which was extremely rare around these parts. I was about to head over and open it when I saw Jade climbing down off the couch. I smiled when I saw this and rushed over to her first, setting her back on the couch. "Stay here Trouble." I said, booping her nose which made her giggle. I smiled and rushed over to the door. I opened it and was shocked to find two of Carlisle's kids looking back at me. The girl, who I guessed was Alice looked at me. "We need your help. Is Robin home?" Alice asked urgently. I shook my head. "No she's out hunting." I replied. Alice's shoulders almost slumped. "When she gets back tell her to go to Forks, Carlisle will explain everything." She said, hugging me tightly before she and her mate left. I stood there in shock. After a while of standing there I felt someone tap my shoulder. "Mimi, who were they?" I heard Casey ask. "They were kids of an old friend of Momma's." I explained, looking back at Casey, and at Jade who was clutching his sleeve. "Don't you two worry your little heads, everything will be fine." I said smiling at them, although from the look on Alice's face, I was having a hard time convincing myself of that.
