"Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and bright
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight"

-Toploader, Dancing in the Moonlight

(I do not own Dancing in the Moonlight or any of its lyrics)

I found myself stationed on the backseat of G's bike yet again. It was Thursday night, and although I was tired from pulling an all-nighter and having to go to school after, I was still up for whatever surprise G wanted to show me. He looked really excited: an emotion he usually kept to himself and I didn't want to ruin it. I wrapped my arms around his neck, so I wouldn't fall off, and he sped off with me, the city lights now behind us. I had grown accustomed to his motorcycle, and now the fear of falling off was absent. He took some dramatic turns and I laughed as we swerved from street to street. The streets were empty, probably because almost nobody had a car. You'd either have to work for the government or have a hell of a job to get your hands on one of them. After driving around town a bit, he stopped at a small piano bar.

He opened the door for me and made a flourishing gesture to show me the inside. Inside was a dimly lit restaurant that gave off a homely atmosphere. There was, of course, a long bar, some booths lining the walls, a small white piano, a karaoke machine and lastly two flame monster bartenders.

I recognized the shorter flame monster, Grillby, and assumed the older one was his father. I saw G's eyes light up, and he tackle hugged Grillby who returned the gesture by patting him on the back roughly and smiling happily at his friend. I smiled at them.

"Frisk, this is Grillby's father's bar. He works here part-time with his dad," he said, nudging his dad who smiled at me and offered his hand for me to shake.

"I'm Bruce. Nice to meet you," he smiled warmly. (haha get it?) I took his hand and shook it smiling.

"I'm Frisk, you too," I said.

"So, what would you two like? Fries or Burger?"

"I'll have whatever she's getting," G said, taking a seat at the bar.

"Hmm. Is fries okay?"

"Sure thing, double order of fries please," G told Bruce before he went into the kitchen. Grillby walked down the bar to clean cups and tend to someone else's order. I took my seat next to G as the kitchen door swung shut.

"So, how do you like it? The bar's pretty old but they restored it. I'm guessing it's a family tradition to pass it down or something."

"It's actually really charming in a way. Wait-Oh, my gosh," I replied, turning to see the karaoke machine.

"What is it?"

"There's a karaoke machine?!" I turned to him.

"Yep."
"We have to try it."

"Nope, I can't sing," he said, waving his hands to emphasize it.

"You sang pretty damn well when we were playing piano together," I said, trying to win him over with flattery. He didn't move so I tried plan B, "Pleaseeee?" I did puppy dog eyes. He hesitated.

"Just this once, but you'll owe me" he turned away, refusing to look at my eyes.

"Yess!" I side hugged him and pulled him by the sleeve to Grillby. "Can we do a song on the karaoke machine?"
"Yeah. Just give me a sec," he said, finishing off a drink and sliding it to a customer. He plugged the machine in and tossed us each a microphone. "What song?"

"I will survive," I said immediately, laughing at G's shocked reaction. This was going to be fun.

*** (One Song Later)
We finished the song and we got a few scattered applauses and even some shouts from impressed customers. Considering the bar was fairly empty due to how late it was, it was an accomplishment for us so we high fived. As if on cue, the grub was ready, and we quickly sat down to indulge in our smoking meals. Grillby slid us the ketchup and I poured us a small amount to share on a napkin.

I took two fries out, dipped them in the sauce, and savored them. It was probably the first time in a while that I'd had decent food besides the cafeteria's ice cream that was served once a month. G dipped a fry and ate it too and I could tell he liked it as well, because he cleaned out his basket of fries in no time. I was finishing up my basket when I heard the piano begin to play. I turned to see Grillby's dad doing a duet with his son. It was a slow song, so some couples got up and started to dance. G smiled and pulled me to the dance floor.

"No, I can't even dance, G," I pouted.

"Well, you owe me, remember? Plus, c'mon I'll make it fun. Promise." he smirked and guided me across the dance floor. It felt strange, like a dream. I sighed. I mean, how bad can I be at dancing? Although his eyes were locked onto mine, he knew exactly where he was taking me. I think that was when I decided to let go. Let go of my stress, my worries, and my thoughts. Right here, right now I was dancing. Nothing else seemed to matter anymore; I allowed him to take me anywhere he pleased on this dance floor. When he found our spot, I allowed him to place his hand on my back and I placed my hand on his shoulder, finally our free hands intertwined. The music seemed to ebb and flow just like our dance. He went left, I went left. He sped up, I sped up. We kept to that rhythm until the song came to an end and we had to part. I didn't want to let go, his warmth left me as we parted. He chuckled.

"Not too shabby, huh?" he asked, a twinkle of energy still in his eyes.

"Yeah. You were pretty good," I confirmed, smiling.

"Thanks. I think we make good dance partners, huh, dove?"

"Indeed," I confirmed, looking to his soft orbs that seemed to pull me in. The moment only lasted a brief second, as we were tired from all the movement and retreated to our seats at the bar.

That was when I heard the room fall silent. I heard the sounds of someone walking in high heels. That was when she walked in.

It was a tiger monster who was slightly taller than me at 5'6. I recognized her faintly from the day before today. She wore fancy clothes and a small assistant followed behind her, carrying her fashionable purse and bags from numerous stores. She waved him away to a booth, where he set down all her items carefully. She wore fancy makeup and her hair was dyed red. She wore a long evening dress that seemed to flow with her every move. I wondered where in the world she had managed to get it. Her feet were in narrow and high red pumps that I wondered how she managed to walk in. Seriously, I would probably break a bone or something after taking one step in those.

She looked like she was about to attend something important, so, why was she here? She applied another coat of red lipstick before walking towards where G and I were sitting. G yanked my sleeve, which made me avert my gaze from her. He had a solemn look on his face.

"Who's that?" I whispered to him as the slender figure came even closer to our spot at the bar.

"That," he pretty much spat in a disgusted tone, "was my first ex."

A/N: Hehe... guess who came back? You guessed it, the tiger monster that Frisk and G spotted in the parking lot from before! Also, I'm getting back on my chapter title game... There will be more puns hidden in chapters to come, so keep an eye out for those ;)

P.S. Posting Schedule will resume, next chapter will be posted on Saturday ^^
