I watched her as she flipped through page after page of the enormous algebra book, focused precisely on finding the right one. Finally, I saw a smile of triumph fashion her lips as she looked up at me and began to point to each problem, explaining them to me slowly. I scooted closer pretending to look at the problems, but really, I was only focused on her. She laughed, probably making a joke that I didn't hear so I smirked an averted my gaze back on her as she looked back down at the textbook.

"And that's how the Pythagorean theorem works," she smiled softly and handed me a pencil. "Now you try with me." I made a confused face and asked if she could explain it one more time. She sighed and flipped to a new page and showed me a different problem, explaining it in simpler detail. She took a sip from her water bottle and continued, pointing out random numbers with her finger. She must have run into a problem because her speech quieted, and she was mumbling, staring at the problem and writing something down. The bridge of her nose scrunched up and her eyes narrowed. Heh, she looks kind of cute when she's so focused like that.

She told me something, and I nodded numbly, not listening. The bell rang, dismissing us for lunch.

"Okay, I guess we could continue our lesson tomorrow," she half-heartedly smiled, wanting to finish what she started on. She put away her books and began to lead me to the cafeteria. "Hey, by the way. I thought you said we had science first today? You know, when you made a deal of waking me up because we were late?" She questioned, eyeing me suspiciously.
"Hehe," I raised an eyebrow, grinning at Frisk's discovery, "So we've got a detective over here, eh?"
"Pfft. So you knew that we didn't have Science first all along?" She smiled victoriously.
"Maybe," I winked, before continuing, "Hey, how about we have lunch in the café today?" I suggested, my hand brushing my wallet which was in my back pocket. "My treat," I smirked, "Come on, it's an offer you can't refuse~"

She smiled, nodding briefly before I take her hand in mine. I whisk us away to the school café with my magic swiftly. I'm met with familiar scents flooding my nose: coffee, ham and cheese sandwiches and pastries. Sounds chime in and the atmosphere becomes warm with sounds of people chattering, silverware clinking together and lastly the clicking of keys as frustrated students study for their courses. I led her to the line, our hands still intertwined. I let go and tapped my knuckles on my pockets, waiting impatiently for the next person in line to finish their order slowly.

Finally, the cashier rang them up and we went up to the counter. She turned to us and smiled kindly.

"Ah, it's always nice to see a young couple," she began to say before Frisk corrected her.

"No, no, no," she laughed, "No way, pff hah. Nah, no way we're just friends. That's funny though."

"Well, someone's got a case of the no ways," I mumbled, the words being barely audible.

I ordered two smoothies and Frisk and I got ham and cheese sandwiches. As she turned the other way to find us a table, I ordered her a cake pop as a surprise. The cashier nodded knowingly and added it to the order. I grimaced at my wallet and pulled out the remaining money I had and used it to pay.

I take my seat next to her and she tells me about how amazing her science class was today and how someone blew up an experiment and it splattered on the walls and stained them green. I just nodded numbly and gazed into her yellow-green eyes as she babbled on about how amazing her day was. I sipped my drink and took a bite from my sandwich as she talked. Heh, her voice was so calming. I didn't want her to stop talking, it made me feel calm.

This one place in the school was like my safe haven. The air conditioning worked most of the time, the walls were painted a nice shade of dark green, and the area was serene. Unlike the rest of the school-or city for that matter-the café was one of the only places that wasn't totally damaged or run-down. I'm glad I brought Frisk here, since she seemed to enjoy the calming environment as well. It really can take your mind off all the bad things that are happening. She settled down after talking for a few minutes and began to eat again.

When we finished our food and she threw out her food I grinned and pulled out two cake pops, handing one to her. She gasped, and her face lit up and her eyes glowed as she took it from me.

"Oh, my, gosh. I haven't had one of these in so long. Thanks, G," she told me before taking a bite into it.

"How is it," I asked

"Mmmph. So 'ood" she grinned goofily through a mouthful of cake pop, shooting me two thumbs up.

I chuckled and ate mine as well. We finished up and dumped the sticks in the trash.

I strode with her to gym class, making small talk here and there about how our day had been so far.

I walked outside and sat down on a bench to lift weights while we waited for our coach to get here. Some other guys, monster and human, joined me and worked out as well.

I saw a certain someone come out of and quickly shifted to a heavier weight to lift. I felt her staring at me. I cracked a smirk. Mission accomplished.

♥ Frisk's POV ♥

I glanced at G. What the hell was he trying to accomplish lifting that thing? Break his arm? Cause if that's what he's going for, then great work, champ, you've got this in the bag. I realized I was staring and went to avert my gaze just before I saw a smirk crack his face.

"Take a picture, dove, it'll last longer," he was looking at me in the eyes, still lifting the weight. He winked, and I felt red rosebushes spread across my face like the plague. I huffed and shook my head, heading towards my group of friends as he chuckled at me, turning to talk to another guy. What is he even doing? And why all the nicknames? I swear he has like three for every occasion. I made small talk until I heard the familiar shriek of the whistle. Everyone turned towards our coach.

"Heya, everyone. I'll be your coach this year, and for the new ones, I'm Coach Diana. Everyone on the blue line," she commanded, tossing her long brown hair behind her shoulder. She was a human with piercing brown eyes that scanned over us as we stood in line. She began to walk down the line, giving each of us a different number.

"Two," she told me before moving on to the next kid. When she finished telling everyone their numbers she stood in front of all of us. "Twos on this side of the court. Ones you're with me on this side," we split up into two teams on either side of the gym. My team consisted of different kids, each with a different talent.

Fukufire, who I knew was good at throwing long and hard driven balls from... past experience. Dan, the baseball player, who could catch almost any ball that came at him.A cat-like monster whom I didn't know yet. She looked like the type to just dodge everything and catch a few balls though. There was also Rick, the dinosaur monster who was a jock, who could throw like hell. Then there was G. I guessed he was going to be very similar to Rick.

"I know you all know the rules, no shots above the shoulders, etc., etc. Everyone one hand against the wall," she said as we all pressed a finger against the wall. G briefly caught my eye and winked at me, catching me off guard. My redness grew. "Three, two, one, go!" she said quickly and caught me off guard as I snapped out of my daze and a ball just barely whizzed past my face.

I ran back and picked up the ball, trying to throw it to the other side at the nearest entity. The monster swerved out of the way before it could hit them and returned the throw, sending a long ball straight for my stomach. I braced myself and caught it just before it could touch the fabric of my top. I tossed the ball to Rick, who shot it across the court and hit a girl square on the leg who had been catching balls for the other team. She strolled off the court and another player threw a hard-driven ball straight for me as I celebrated with Rick, high fiving him and all. I turned my head, but it was too late. The ball was at arm's length and I braced myself for the hit.

But it never came.

I fluttered open my eyes, confused. G had his arm extended to the side and had managed to catch the ball in one hand. He turned around, also quite surprised at his action. He his expression quickly turned to one of smugness.

"Better watch out next time, dove or you could get hurt~" I rolled my eyes as he pinned the ball at Nick, who jumped before it could hit his leg. I looked around. Surprisingly it was only Rick, G and me. On the other side was Eliza, Bratty, Nick and Grillby. Typically, I don't survive this long in these types of games, since I was the medic of the team, aka the one who catches balls to bring people back in the game. Eliza giggled and threw a ball at me. Her balls were always swift, but I caught it this time and made a goofy face at her triumphantly. She smiled and rolled her eyes, sitting down on the sidelines.

I picked up a ball and turned to see Rick slinking away as Bratty high fived Nick. It was only me, G and our enemies now. We were outnumbered still. He smirked at me and threw a hard-driven ball at Nick, who dodged it. I was royally screwed. Everyone on the other team threw hard driven balls except for Bratty, who was an exceptional catcher.

From what I could tell, G could throw hard driven balls as well, but he couldn't catch if his life depended on it. The one time he saved me must've been an exception.

I looked around to see the Grillby and Nick plotting something. Bratty was standing next to them, ready to catch any balls coming their way. I watch as Nick and Grillby turn to me and pivot their balls at me as fast as they could. G turned sharply to help but he was too far away. I hit the floor and ducked as they sped over my head. While they were distracted, G threw a ball at Grillby, who wasn't quick enough to dodge. He chuckled at G and sat down to watch. It was now only Bratty, Nick, G and me.

Bratty tossed her ball to her partner and I did the same. I guess we were thinking the same, because as soon as they shot at each other we jumped in front of our partners and caught the ball. I turned to G and he sighed.

"Go get 'em, rookie," he trotted over to Grillby and sat next to him. Huh, that's a new one. Got to add that name to the list.

I turned to face Bratty. Her challenging gaze met my own. No way I was letting her win after this awesome game. I clutched the ball that I had tried to save G with and threw it as her as hard as I could. She did the same and we both caught the ball. I groaned and threw it again and so did she. We both caught the ball perfectly. Finally, a light bulb flickered on in my head, looking back at my other teammate's strategies. This time instead of throwing it at her directly I threw it at her legs which she stumbled to dodge as I caught her ball and won the game. My team slapped me on the back and cheered, and even some monsters from the other team said their congratulations. I smiled in glee as the Coach patted me.

"Nice job, newbie. What's your name?" she asked.

"Frisk," I said. She nodded in acknowledgment before turning and dismissing us. I grinned widely as I skipped to the exit of the gym. Guess who just landed a win for her team, and got acknowledged by the coach for it? Yeah, I did! I thought to myself joyously.

Today was truly the best day ever.
