THE HOUSE DID FEEL WARM and homey but I knew I wouldn't be here for long. While I was being shown the house I took note in my head of every door and window as we walked upstairs. I met a few children that I couldn't be less interested in as my foster mum opened a door and warm light poured out onto the floorboards. I looked into the room and saw to boys standing at a desk with their backs facing us. Two bunk beds in the room, a dresser and I stared directly at the window on top of the dresser.
"Boys, this is Bonnie. Make her feel at home here she's not really much of a talker." My foster mum spoke causing both the boys to turn their heads to look at me.
"If you need me I'll be downstairs," She said with kind eyes as she left leaving the door slightly ajar. I made eye contact with the boys but then turned my head towards the bare bed on the bottom bunk. I walked towards the bed and put my bag on the mattress, I leaned over the dresser and stared outside the window. I could feel eyes staring at me so I glanced over to them.
"What?" I questioned. Both the boys didn't really seem to know what to do or say. But then one stepped closer to me with some new found confidence.
"Uh, hi I am Billy and this is Freddy," He says holding his hand out for me to shake. I looked down at his hand and looked up to him, what are you? A forty-year-old man? He awkwardly puts his hand down and looks over to Freddy who was seated in an office chair.
"Don't look at me like that I don't know how to talk to girls!" Freddy whispered yelled as if I wasn't standing right in front of them. I rolled my eyes and ignored the boys staring at me and I sat on my bed beside my bag, digging through it until I found my beanie and pulled it over my head. Grabbing my phone charger I plugged it into the wall beside the bunk bed. I felt a little better noticing that the boys had lost interest in me and went back to doing whatever they were doing at the desk. I grew curious as to what they were even whispering about and scribbling down on the paper.
Sneaking up behind them I could barely see past Billy's taller body, I stood up higher on my toes but still couldn't see the desk.
"What are yous doing?" I questioned as they both jolted backward with Freddy letting out a dramatic yelp. I had a quick glimpse at the papers before Freddy and Bill scrambled to cover them. They were drawing some kind of muscular man.
"Who is that man?" I frowned looking up towards Freddy. Freddy glanced over to Bill who stood behind me gripping sheets of paper to his chest.
"That is uh-" Freddy begins before he is cut off by Billy. "Its The Rock we are drawing him for art class." He said as he seemed to struggle to believe the words coming from his own mouth. There was a small awkward silence between the three of us.
"Right," I trailed off. "Anyways is there any windows big enough upstairs I could fit through?" I asked the boys.
"The bathroom across the hall," Billy replies almost instantly. "Billy!" Freddy snaps.
"What? She was gonna find out sooner or later if she wants to go she can." Billy frowned. "Uh yeah, but I also don't feel like scrapping teenage girl off the driveway with a shovel!" Freddy replied in a fast jumbled up mess. His head seemed to think faster then what he could spit all his words out.
I took a step back with wide eyes and adjusted the beanie on my head. "Well he is right, you should at least stay until everyone's asleep." Billy states. Freddy's mouth playfully dropped as he pushed his finger into Billy's arm.
"You just said I am right," He smiled, mocking Billy. "Shut up dude," Billy exclaimed pushing Freddy's hand away in annoyance. I pulled my jacket off my shoulders along with the beanie off my head, placing it on my bed.
"Oh my gosh is that a batman shirt?" Freddy exclaimed in excitement. "Here we go," Billy rolled his eyes. I turned around to see Freddy standing up from his seat but he used a crutch to stand up straight, leaning hid weight against it. He limped closer to me with excitement.
"You like superheroes?" He asked with bright eyes. "I love superheroes, saving the world and stuff it's so awesome," Freddy states looking over to Billy briefly. It was silent for a moment as the boys waited for my response but I couldn't really muster one, Freddy seemed pretty full on.
"Sorry if that was too forward or anything I got excited," He chuckled stepping back. "Uh, this is actually my brother's shirt he is a huge Batman fan," I say looking down at my oversized shirt that was tucked into my high-waisted black jeans. Freddy gasped in sudden excitement, this kid needs to calm down I feel like he will have a heart attack. I stared at his crutch, wondering why he even needed one, or what he had done to hurt himself.
"Oh yeah, this bad boy right here." He says gesturing to his crutch. "I'm disabled try not to feel too sorry for me." He joked.
"Is your brother here?" Freddy questioned quickly with wide eyes, eager to hear the answer to the question. Billy stepped forward and put a hand on Freddy's arm that leaned against the cane. My silence filled the room.
"Freddy," Billy whispered to calm him down until his face dropped from his happy expression. "Oh, uh I-I am sorry," He says.
"He's not dead," I suddenly speak up catching the attention of both boys. "He's out there and I need to get back to him," I added.
"Well, I think that you should just bring him back here," Freddy said as his brown eyes burrowed into my own eyes. I looked away and got my phone from my pocket and saw I had a few messages and missed calls from my brother.
My panicked fingers quickly went into the text messages Hunter had sent.

The boys noticed the change in my attitude and demeanor. "What's up?" Billy questioned with concern.
"I have to go." I simply stated as I rushed to get my jacket and beanie on, then grab my bag.
"Wait wait, Bonnie," Freddy called before I walked out the door. I turned my head towards both boys who frowned at me at my sudden rush to leave.
"Are you gonna come back?" He asked. "I don't know if I am still gonna be alive tomorrow," Was the last thing I said to the boys before I bolted out the door.
