E.T Tekena is an abbreviation of my real name and I'm eighteen.

2. Where did you get the inspiration to start writing?

I was inspired by a famous novelist in my country - Chinua Achebe - when I was much younger and was inspired to write my own books. But unlike him, I primarily write fantasy and adventure. Most of my writing now is inspired by fantasy books and anime.

I'm from Nigeria

3. What are the things you do in your leisure time?

I usually watch movies or study. I'm a Law undergraduate so when I'm not writing, I'm usually catching up on my studies.

Do you play any games?

Not really. I'm not a very good player so I stick to the simple games (Like Candy Crush )

I tried to play Devil May Cry with my brother once and he beat me every single time.

Haha that's why I don't try such games because my brother is always there to tease me

Exactly! And when they win, they are always so proud of it

4. What is the first work you wrote in this platform? What was the response you got for that work?

My first work was on a previous account and it was called WildFire. It got only five hundred reads in the span of a year. At that time I was still a newbie to Wattpad and didn't promote the story at all. Apart from that, it was riddled with grammatical errors. I've learned from that experience and hopefully, I'm a better writer now.

Oh that's good, first works are maximum not best but they make us learn many things 

5. What is your prospective about teenage?

Since I'm a teenager myself, I think this time is an important one for all of us. Events which happen to us now shape our lives in the future. It's one of the best ages to be because we're learning new things about ourselves yet it can be annoying at times when adults stereotype us based on how teenagers are portrayed in the media or when they think we are children whose opinion can't be taken seriously. All in all, I think I'll miss my teenage age in future.

6. Is there any particular genre which you love to read?

I love to read Fantasy, Adventure and Paranormal most of the time but when I'm in the mood for something different, I go for Mystery/Thriller.

7. What are the favourite works either on wattpad or outside which you read in one go or found them interesting?

Most of my favorites works include African authors with a few American authors here and there. Arrow of God - Chinua AchebeWomen of Owu - Femi OsofisanGerald's Game - Stephen KingLineage of Grace - Francine Rivers

8. What is the thing you see when you first glance at the book?

The Cover. I'm a big fan of attractive covers so if someone's cover and blurb is nice, I'm more likely to check it out than a book with a poorly done cover.

Ohh that's good and yeah most of the times cover attracts more

9. What do you value the most in your life?

That would be my family, and God. I can't see myself where I am without the backing and support of my family and God's protection over me.

10. What ways did Wattpad help you? Did it help you increase your potential?

Wattpad definitely improved my grammar and style of writing. I'm a much better writer than I was a few years ago, thanks to Wattpad and the wonderful users here.

11. What are your expectations from readers?

I don't really expect my readers to do anything, but I usually hope they enjoy my work to the point they'd comment and vote, or maybe share my work without me needing to promote them.

12. What do you enjoy being the most a reader or an author?

Author, definitely.

Any explanation?

I love when people enjoy my works, and seeing a comment or vote really brightens up my day. Writing is my escape from real life stuff and when someone likes it or comments on how relatable it is, it feels very satisfying.

13. Since how many years are you using Wattpad?

I've been on Wattpad for five to six years now but made a new account last year.

14. Any short message to the teenagers like you?

I would say they should go for their passion. No matter how hard it might seem, their hard work will eventually pay off.

15. What do you think plays a major role in teenagers lives? Society or friends?

It depends on the teenager themselves. Some teenagers are willing to please their friends regardless of their family or reputation while some teenagers have the will to put themselves over friends. For me, it would be Society

16. Is social media good for teenagers? 

Personally, I am not a fan of social media. While it can certainly be helpful, these days the bad outweighs the good. I do not believe it is good for teenagers especially teenagers who go behind their parents' back to open such accounts.

Hmm.. that's a point

17. Most of the teenagers make friends in many platforms. Do you think it is good or bad? 

Again, this depends on the context. As a religious person, I tend to come across people who swear a lot and are into stuff I'm not into. I've also seen helpful people who have helped me grow as both a writer and a person. It really depends on the maturity of the teenager. If they are easily gullible, they may fall prey to rapists and scammers disguised as friends.

18. Few words about our community?

I believe the Teen Fix Community is a very helpful one (especially your magazine. The articles are entertaining yet informative) and I hope to see it grow overtime.

The format of the interview is pretty solid, and the questions are nor intrusive. What you have now is good.
