Indian Fan Fiction Awards - Drikshit 1st Winner - Adhvikstagram

Hello Everyone!!!

Welcome, to the interview of fanfic awards winner

Our winner has wrote an amazing book " The Girl With Red Scarf " in Drikshit fanfic category.

Today we are very glad to have winner with us!!

Welcome!!

1. Real name ( if you don't want to disclose it's alright).

My name is Roop.

2. Age?

I am 16 years old (quite young I know)

3. What is your dream job?

I have always wanted to become a writer as long as I could remember. Ever since I turned six and my dad gifted me my first story book, being an author has been my dream job. I just simple cannot imagine myself doing something else for the rest of my life.

4. When did you start your journey as an author

My journey as an author began when I was ten years old. I started writing short stories and poems for childrens' magazines. When they got published, I found the motivation to write more and more. My family belongs from an educational background and perhaps that is why I was not quite encouraged in cultural activities like dancing and singing. Writing short stories and poems gave me an opportunity to escape the harsh reality and finally build the world of my dreams. When I started getting appreciated for my work, my parents took my hobby of writing seriously and encouraged me to continue this.

I joined Wattpad for the availability of like minded people here and also to get some honest feedback about my work from people other than my family members.

Wattpad has also helped me to reach a wider audience and last but not the least, make a lot of amazing friends!

5. Did Wattpad help you improve you as an author

Definitely, I think that Wattpad has helped me improve, not only my writing skills and but also my personality. Being a student in the tenth standard, it is really difficult for me to keep some time aside for writing, due to my hectic study routine, but after joining Wattpad, I have found myself being regular with my writing schedule. No matter how busy I am, I always manage to make time for updating my fanfiction as I know that my readers will be waiting for the next chapter. As I intereact with my readers, respond to their comments or queries, this gives me a break from my otherwise monotonous schedule. The feedback from my readers and as well as other writers from the community has helped a lot in enhancing my writing skills.

I am an introvert and hence it is really difficult for me to make conversation with new acquaintances. But on Wattpad, I have found people with the same mindset and it has taken me a really short time to open up and make a ton of new friends!

6. What do you expect from readers?

I think a good writer never expects anything from his/her readers. It should be the other way round. It is our readers who should set their expectations from us. I think expectations help you perform better and also keep on improving you at whatever you are doing. Speaking of the drikshit fandom, I feel that the readers are very supportive and very open minded. They love reading traditional fanfictions to modern contemporary - everything and they have showered their love and appreciation equally on all the talented fanfiction writers.

7. Did you expected yourself to be one of the winners?

Honestly speaking, no. This was my very first time participating in a contest like this and I was only participating because a lot of my readers had wanted me to do so, and I thought that it would be kinda fun to try something like this. I entered and my entry got approved. There were a total of ten fanfictions in the drikshit category including mine and just to check out the competition, I decided to read the other nine fanfictions. I was truly blown away by the amount of diversity I saw. There were historical fanfictions, magical stories and what not. And with the beauty, with which each writer had presented their story, was truly fascinating. At that time, I had felt that my story was quite simple and ordinary and hence, I believed that I would not win.

The day the results came out, I truly could not believe my eyes. I was so happy on winning that I was practically bouncing up and down. Later, I asked for my scorecard and saw that I had scored a 96 out of 100, which is truly a lot for me. So, thank you to everyone!

8. When did you come across this Drikshit fanfiction category and how did you fell in love with it.

I used to watch DivyaDrishti on the weekends since the very start of the show and I fell in love with the chemistry of #drikshit.

Back then, I used to read fanfictions on Instagram. The writers basically wrote on Wattpad and then screenshoted the chapters and posted on Instagram. I had wanted to join Wattpad for a long ,long time but I had a major lack of confidence, I wasn't sure how the community would react to my writing.

But anyways, I joined Wattpad this year and I am so glad that I did!

9. What was this response you got when you published "The Girl With Red Scarf" book?

According to me, I got a huge amount of response when I published 'The Girl With The Red Scarf'. Honestly speaking, I had only joined Wattpad for my love of writing, and I was truly overwhelmed by the amount of love and appreciation my fanfiction got from the drikshit reader base. I truly had not expected this much of love. Currently my fanfiction has over 12.6 k reads and 2.45 k votes, which in my opinion is a huge number. My fanfiction has also ranked #1 in #drikshit for two times. I am so grateful to all the readers for loving and supporting my fanfiction.

10. How do you describe teenage?

I describe teenage as period of sensitivity and vulnerability. I think that at this time, all teenagers go through a huge amount of emotional stress. But this can also be a time of great opportunities and productivity if used in the right way.

11. Things you learned as a teenager?

Well, technically, I still am a teenager (nervous laugh). There are a lot of things that I have learnt, and a lot more that I have yet to learn. But the most important thing that I have learnt during this time is to never let my vulnerability control my actions. We make the biggest mistakes when triggered, that is why I try to stay calm and comprehend out each situation logically.

12. A short message for teenagers?

Please do not - DO NOT keep everything within yourself! All the anger, exasperation, emotional distress - talk it out with someone trust worthy, it might be a parent, friend, sibling, relative, anyone! Sharing it will help you in releasing the stress and also, you will have someone to discuss your problems openly.

Trust me, it makes the entire thing a lot easier if you know someone is there with you and that you are not alone facing the mess that you have made.

13. Few words about our community?

I think Teen Fix is a really great community. All of you are doing really good work, especially throwing the lime light on and discovering underrated Wattpad writers. You are helping out teens who need help and at the same time, organizing contests for uncovering the hidden gems of the Wattpad community. Keep up the good work, Teenfix!

14. About your Interview experience?

I had the bestest interview ever, thank you to the entire Teenfix community for making this possible! This opportunity truly means a lot to me, and I look forward to being a part of your other schemes as well!

15. Would you like to join our community?

Yeah, I would sincerely like to join your community. But not now, since I have my board exams coming up. I will surely contact you once I am free and ready to take up responsibility in your community!

Thanks for giving us your precious time

I should thank you all for arranging this amazing interview, please do give my regards to your community!❤❤
