Going Forwards
20 days is possibly the longest unannounced break I've ever taken, yet here I am, twenty days later, with not a word to show for it. It's kind of sad, in a way, letting go of your own unrealistic expectations for yourself when you know you've only pulled them out so that you can breathe for a second before you make things even harder.
The things we do to get better, I swear.
Anyways, I have been writing in these twenty days. Perhaps not as rigorously as usual, sure, but had the writing not been done I'd probably be in far sorrier shape.
Really I'm just sad that I'm leaving you all like this, with so much crap left undone and now that I'm going into crew season, I can only promise it will get worse and worse
and then, maybe, it will get better. If I'm lucky.
Anyhow. My schedule.
I am redoing canon.
A lot of you probably don't know what this means but basically every few years or so I adjust where all of my characters fit in their respective universes and usually take an ax to a bunch of them, as well as adding in a whole menagerie of new ones that have been kind of wedging their way in for a while into the official canon.
What does this mean for my fanfics? Absolutely nothing!
However, it's a lot more serious for my original works, namingly the Dreamland works. I have a lot planned but most of it is still up in the air until I finalize it, so I don't want to spoil anything to anyone. Heck, what I really want to do is replace the name Dreamland, but the likelihood of that happening is unfortunately quite slim.
What you can expect for certain:
-My NaNoWriMo this year will be the last book to fall in the current canon (read: you can read Double Rainbow, TCHF, TGD, and this book and all of them make sense together and form a lot of parallels).
-Starting December 1, a story tentatively titled "The Space Between Stars" will start updating interchangeably with Broken Souls and potentially Extraordinary. The Space Between Stars will be sort of a rewrite of Double Rainbow: Retold, but I'm changing a lot more so that this story, unlike Retold, isn't a steaming mess. Characters, locations, and backstories will be changed around but the story will be more or less the same at heart, just better done overall.
-As for Extraordinary, I really can't stand writing it because I still hate having to work with humans, but it's going to continue to update whenever I think of some reason to do so. That includes this October, where basically nothing else will be happening, but really if you want your ChronaLilly fix I have nine full length novels published here so feel through to rummage through those. The Cities Have Fallen is definitely worth reading if nothing else is.
SO THE CURRENT PLAN *FAR INTO THE FUTURE* INCLUDING LITERALLY EVERYTHING AND ALL MY UNREALISTIC GOALS IS...
October 2016
-This book will continue to update sporadically.
-Extraordinary will continue to update sporadically.
November 2016
-NaNoWriMo month. This year's NaNoWriMo is a lot lower stakes and will be entitled Roses and Thorns. It's sort of a character study for a town and two characters.
December 2016
-Broken Souls Arc 2 begins updating.
-The Space Between Stars begins updating.
-Extraordinary resumes updating, assuming I ever update it this month.
January 2017
-January 1, possibly earlier- New art book. The title will be "Indy's Adventure Log" and then the third one, if I ever get to it, will be called "Gale's Secret Diary".
-January 1 OR 1250 followers, whichever comes last- This is where WTRB updates would start. Where The River Bends is going to be my new Warriors fanfiction, an atmosphere and lore heavy story that constantly bounces between any and all characters in the two clans with the intent of making a clan that feels more like a family and less like a collection of names, along with a world that feels fully realized.
June 2017
-Broken Souls Arc 2 (and by extension the entire Hearts of Gold Trilogy) are planned to be done by now.
September 2017
-Let's be real, there's no way I'm actually going to finish Arc 2 until here at the earliest.
November 2017
-Hopefully by November 1st I should be done with The Space Between Stars.
-This year's NaNoWriMo will either be the Panacea Project or something else I haven't planned yet.
December 2017
-If I've finished The Space Between Stars, this should be where The Cities Have Fallen's rewrite would be. I'm going to rewrite all three of the "original" books for sure, but past there, I really don't know.
FUTURE PROJECTS WITH NO DATE THAT WILL PROBABLY COME IN WHENEVER
-I have three future Nuzlockes planned that will probably be not be written down. I've explained the Black and Omega Ruby nuzlockes in previous chapters, and then there would be a Moon nuzlocke with no special rules but with a greater focus on lore. I'm super hyped for Sun and Moon.
-That CYOA might be a thing eventually.
-If Luminous (aka: That Fucking Dragon Book) ever happens, I will be the happiest woman alive AFTER I've written it. While writing it, I will be irate.
-The Panacea Project is the only Dreamland story besides the current ones I know enough about to actually tell. Everything else is still in planning. It's hard to get details down because I only really have five puzzle pieces out of a massive puzzle. Someday I'm going to plot out all sixty-three Princesses and then I will die happily.
