If you haven't played Undertale, you're wondering what that thing behind her head is.

If you have played Undertale, you're wondering why the Gaster Blaster behind her head has horns and who the hell she is and why the hell there is a Gaster Blaster behind her head.

Kali: You can stop referring to me in the third person now

Rena: Shush! The audience isn't supposed to know about you yet!
Indy: Rena I just patched up the fourth wall and you broke it again I swear

K well that was a thing that happened 

So basically this is Kali. That is a gaster blaster behind her head and she's not an Undertale OC. This is my second time drawing her and the first time looks nothing like this because 1) I used references 2) I couldn't figure out how to add some fat to her face without making her look deformed.

Basically, Kali is one of 12 (I actually made 2 sets of 12 so 24) characters who exist in a really odd story, even for the Chronaverse.

It falls into that weird place where it's not quite fanfiction but it's definitely not original so I can't really categorize it as either and basically everyone who wants to read it has to know both what the subject material is and who I am extremely well so this will never ever be written.

Basically it's a crackfic beyond belief.

The real story is the behind the scenes story, which is a story about Twistling and I. Twistling is my best friend in real life though she never comes online here so ... good luck trying to reach her? I guess I could tell her you guys said hi and she'd appreciate that.

We met four years ago in a hilarious sequence of events and realized our childhoods shared uncanny similarities, we had almost all of the same interests, and suddenly we were pretty much best friends. I tell her about everything that passes through my head, we can communicate without speaking, and we have more inside jokes than there are cracks in the fourth wall at this point (sorry Indy, we know you're trying).

One of the things we disagree on, or disagreed, was fusion. When it started being a main point in Steven Universe, I immediately saw it as something very beautiful, a meeting of minds and souls, and wanted to start plastering it all over my work. Twistling was kind of confused and didn't like that they lost their individuality because you know, losing your free will is kind of fucking terrifying.

So I decided to have some fun with it and make fusions of characters across all of my fandoms using a random number generator. I basically wrote 8 sets of 12 characters from 8 of my fandoms ordered from 1 to 12, although my description of "fandoms" also included my own works because why the heck not. Then I used a random number generator to pick 8 numbers, wrote down the character correlating to each number, and went at it (ignoring duplicates) until I had used all the characters.

The results were often deliciously ironic, as if the RNG knew what I was doing (some of the better ones? Literally everyone with time travel and 3 cats. 3 cats!). The resulting characters, while originally made as a joke to keep me occupied before I started overburdening myself with schoolwork and self-imposed art schedules, were known as the Amalgamates.

Basically, because I never pass up ideas for stories, even ridiculous ones, I made up a story for all of them, figured out which ones would hate each other, made them all ridiculously overpowered, and threw them on an island together.

Then I later went on a nature walk with Twistling and explained the cosmic significance behind all of the abominations I had made in an afternoon by smashing a random number generator. 

She doesn't hate fusions anymore.

Oh yeah! I actually need to explain the Gaster Blaster now, don't I? uhhh

Basically this is Kali, she's possibly the most dangerous out of the group. All of them are experiments conducted by a group of scientists (because science is evil. lol no actually they're a beyond extremist group and may or may not be manipulated by some dragons from the dragon hubworld) who exist in a world from which all versions were sealed off from all the other dimensions long ago.

Guess which one.

It's Earth.

YUP.

Basically they discover that other world exists and in most other worlds, other beings have figured out how to create "reincarnations" using heartlines (they're a Dreamland thing. Basically the essence of your soul.) and they use whatever heartlines they can grasp to create these new beings with eight souls apiece, giving them shapeshifting powers (three forms. Animal. Human. Combination of all eight souls that basically looks like the clusters from Steven Universe and the Amalgamates from Undertale, but Chronafied because I can't draw anything that scary).

Unsurprisingly, they escape and set up a home in a pocket dimension located in the Pacific Ocean.

From there, Red and Kali, formerly the twin leaders of the group, who have suffered heavy amnesia during their escape, begin to bicker, not remembering why they were ever anything resembling friends to begin with.

This is made worse when Red realizes he has the power to travel backwards in time, "reseting" entire days. He uses this power to keep everyone from killing each other (or themselves), which happens often because a lot of their souls hate each other. A lot.

However, Kali keeps all memories of these "resets" and grows very spiteful towards Red. The two end up fighting both physically and mentally, trying to split the group in two. The big moral of the book is more of an open question: Is free will a good thing?

Red says no, Kali says yes, both of them refuse to compromise and people are physically and emotionally damaged.

Everyone else on the team has their own subplots too, I just listed Kali's because y'know, her picture

also yeah in case you guessed one of Kali's souls is Sans and one of Red's is Flowey

oh yeah and Kali also has Rena and Red got Gale
