I never got direct requests to do these but I figured that someone would want 'em... (cough cough Wulfie) and they'll be relevant when I switch to their POV after the next arc- I mean- uh... what next arc? What character switch? I'm certainly NOT already prepping dialogue for these guys...

Anyhow, I had a lot of fun doing these, even though I should really stop arting and start doing more writing because 1) hypocrisy and 2) writing makes me feel good and art makes me feel... less terrible.

Regardless, if I get 10 likes or just some more requests for it, I'll do the Second Chances and Broken Souls teams. I'll also take requests for characters who didn't make it as far.

BRONZE

As Ashley's first Pokemon, Bronze has become the heart of the team as well as the de facto leader just by virtue of seniority. Like most starters, he was bred for the role and while he doesn't usually relish in the power nor does he plan very far ahead, when shit hits the fan he can dish out orders like no one's business. He's a talented fighter who uses a combination of fiery projectiles and quick but powerful melee attacks to dish out maximum damage. Off the battlefield, he's compassionate if a bit rugged, as he prefers to listen rather than speak. Though he may be the oldest team member in time spent with Ashley, he's far from the most adult, and he acts more like an older teenager and when he's angry he often becomes sullen or aggressive. When you see his fire flaring up, you know you're in for trouble. Regardless of this, he's usually pretty level-headed and has definitely learned to manage loss in his time with Ashley and his time as a human in Kalos. He has a leave-no-man behind attitude when it comes to battle and war and is loyal to those he cares about above all else.

Design Details: I like drawing Typhlosion rugged and long-snouted. 'Nuff said.

Trivia:

-Bronze really loves country music and alternative.

-While these aren't strictly country, some of the songs I relate most to his character include Gone, Gone, Gone (Phillip Phillips) (this was kind of THE song that fits Bronze and Lilly best), Bonfire Heart (James Blunt), and Hold On Forever (Rob Thomas).

-Bronze watched a ton of anime when he was back at the lab, hence "Ashley-sama". He's embarrassed by this part of his life even though his life is practically an anime.

-Bronze is secretly intimidated by his role as leader and constantly reasons through his decisions with "what Ashley would do".

-Bronze has a very high opinion of Morty. The memory of the two of them and Ashley at the end is one he keeps very close to him.

-Bronze secretly adores S'mores.

-During the events of Second Chances, Bronze would do campfires with his team regularly and even gained a knack for telling scary stories. 

-Bronze also named a Pansage he caught early on Ashley. She was sick and died within a week. He has not told anyone about the catch, especially Lilly, because he felt like he was failing Ashley for a second time.

-Bronze has his own bucket list, on Lilly's urging. Among the items there are 'officially get married to Lilly', 'eat an entire Gyarados', 'adopt a child', 'learn to play the ukelele', and 'punch Red in the face'.

LILLY

Though Lilly was on the team for far shorter than Bronze, she firmly established herself as part of the core six (if partially through virtue of Bronze's affection) and went on to show her true worth as the most powerful fighter on the team in Kalos. While she's not as loud as Bronze and is basically worthless when it comes to physical moves, her electric attacks are incredibly potent and versatile. She's a bit on the chubby side but flaunts it. She tends to find beauty in all those around her, although Kalos bought out a more defensive side to her. She's not a leader by nature but is willing to do what it takes to make sure the team makes it through. 

Design Details: I made Lilly a bit chubbier than the average Ampharos and gave her less rings on her neck and tail. I also gave her split "hooves" on her hands so she can grip things. I'm still not particularly proud of this design even after a LOT of tweaking.

Trivia:

-Lilly's evolution was gradual over the course of Second Chances. 

-Lilly eagerly awaits meeting up with her family in Johto, although she never existed in the world of Broken Souls.

-Lilly has nightmares where she will wake up in Kalos above Bronze's grave in the same way she saw Diantha over (spoilers).

-Out of everyone, Lilly had the most Pokemon in Kalos.

-Sometimes Lilly will feel strangely guilty or sad when her Pokemon are experiencing those emotions back in the new Kalos universe.

-Lilly is a natural singer.

-Lilly has urged Bronze to make a bucket list on several occasions.

-Lilly likes electronic music but prefers it to have lyrics.

-Lilly is terrified of Gyaradoses but also loathes snake-like Pokemon in general. This includes the Ekans line, Dratini, Dragonair, and the Snivy line, among others.

SKY

Sky was more or less the official group mom during the run with Ashley, and as one of the oldest members of the team, she was always available to help newcomers. She's kind, optimistic, and enjoys the smaller things in life- being blind for your entire childhood lets you appreciate the details that most would miss, if only because you keep looking. While she seems intimidating, she's Ashley's flying Pokemon and uses her four wings to perform dazzling acrobatics both in battle and off it. True to her name, she can usually be found high above the team enjoying the day's wind currents, although it's not rare to see her cuddling up with her husband either. She and Khrys are the oldest couple on the team and while their romance may not be turbulent as the others', it's held fast and true since the start.

Design Details: I really just Chrona-fied this design to make it work more with my art style. I used to think that Crobat ears were split like they were above, as I used to draw without references, and so I retained that in the design. I made the feet a little less tuft-y too just for practicality's sake.
Trivia:

-Sky misses being human for convenience's sake (or at the least, she won't admit to it being more than convenience). Even back in Johto, there were a lot of things she could only dream of doing as a Crobat.

-Sky is keenly aware of how lowly regarded the Zubat line is and will fight anyone who so much as thinks the words 'fodder' or 'vendor trash'.

-Sky thinks of sunrises and sunsets as sky rainbows. They're both her favorite time of day.

-Sky hates snow. Her favorite season is spring, preferably middle to late spring.

-Sky has always wanted to go through traditional human schooling, among other strange fantasies of hers. Human life in general fascinates her.

-Sky lived in Union Cave prior to being caught. She only ended up outside because she was lost and was further disoriented by all the rain. 

-At the end of Second Chances, Sky was pregnant. 

KHRYS

As Ashley's first catch, Khrys has always been a presence on the team. He's quite grateful to Ashley for helping him to evolve and while his maturity set him apart from most of the others, especially early in the run, he was never particularly bitter about it. He's a kind intellectual who deeply cares for Sky, who is his constant companion. The two are arguably far closer to each other than they are the team and the struggle over what is best for them over what is best for their 'extended family' almost tore them away from the return to Johto at the end of Second Chances. Khrys has a variety of weaker psychic powers backed up by a plethora of bug and flying moves with sleeping powders to boot. He is remarkably fast, if frail.

Design Details: I made Khrys a swallowtail because I've always found the canon Butterfree design to be a little boring. I also gave his body a bit more pudge and less of a definite shape to it. I considered putting extra arms in (insect) but decided against it because it looked really cluttered and it was hard to keep all four arms dynamic with the small size of Butterfree limbs, even after I upped the arm size a bit. Khrys also canonically has a bit of aviator gear so I kept him in it here.
Trivia:

-Khrys has the highest IQ on the team.

-Khrys was up at level 263 of Rare Candy Crush before the end of the world. 

-Khrys took up being a pilot in Kalos because he missed being able to fly. 

-However he, like Sky, misses being able to do a variety of human things and is haunted by how weak and disposable he is in his current form.

-Khrys convinced Sky to return to the rest of the team. It was wearing at her consciousness more but he felt more of an obligation, seeing as neither of them would have been alive at all if not for Ashley.

-While most of the others were more affected by their family being lost, reality itself just being a large and fabricated game, or losing Ashley, Khrys was always most disturbed that an entire universe had collapsed around them.

-Khrys has a phobia of fire following the Blackthorn City battle. He tries to conceal it around Bronze but finds it hard to separate him from the fire on his back.

-Khrys always thought he would die to an ice type attack. He had prepared heavily for this and even carried a Yache berry most of the time.

-Khrys is more concerned as to the aftermath of his death than the end of his own existence. As a Butterfree, he sees himself as generally insignificant and is relieved every day and battle he isn't torn to shreds by far rarer and more powerful Pokemon.

TOXIS

After spending most of his youth training to become stronger, Toxis is cold, gruff, and aspires to become greater and more powerful. This pays off well as he is a mixed attacker powerhouse who will fight any number of opponents from any distance. He's a little less impenetrable on the emotional side, as he cares very deeply for Dill and will do anything to protect him. He still has a hard time forming deeper bonds with others although he fares well in casual conversation. He also mastered a slew of life skills both in his youth and in Kalos that make him probably the best adjusted 'adult' of the team. 

Design Details: I didn't differentiate much from the canon design for this one, in fact, this is probably the closest to the concept art out of the six, which might be in part to just how COMPLEX Nidoking is. Toxis took me the longest to draw by far. 
Trivia:

-Toxis looks a lot older than he is, especially in Kalos. He's secretly an incredible cook.

-Toxis did almost all the housework even though Dill was home twice as much as him in Kalos.

-Toxis definitely drank a considerable amount of alcohol, as well as coffee.

-Toxis's plates are nearly as tough as metal armor but are also significantly lighter. Rubbing among the edges of them in a certain way makes him purr.

-Toxis is uncomfortable talking about his relationship in public especially because Dill is loud and nonchalant about it. He takes their relationship very seriously and read a ton of books and articles while they were in Kalos to try to make things work out.

-Toxis injured himself several times in Kalos by attempting feats of strength that would have worked for him as a Nidoking but regrettably didn't go as well as a human. Among these were trying to push a boulder by himself to avoid having to give a Pokemon Strength and punching a tree.

-Toxis doesn't approve of swearing but curses liberally when he's alone, including during aforementioned boulder pushings and tree punchings.

-Toxis and Luna from Broken Souls are genetically related.

DILL

Dill is a ball of energy who never lets up, providing terrible puns and moral support alike to everyone on the team in both good and bad times. He's gay and definitely more than okay, and is happily in a relationship with Toxis, his incredibly bara boyfriend. He himself is a huge nerd who loves a certain TV show involving gay angels but will geek out about almost everything on television. He loves pickles and started out as a stray taken in by Bill and his family, but has found a forever home on the team where he uses water attacks and limitless enthusiasm to do his part in battle. 

Design Details:  I was trying to differentiate Dill's design from Canira designs by focusing on the cartoony aspect and think I did a decent job. In the future I might give him some more speckles down his flank as well, just to give him a more distinctive appearance. I also imagine him as being quite chubby (and perpetually smiling) to match his cheerful and carefree disposition (no sharp edges here!), hence why he looks like a sausage. The torn fins are just to make the fins look less... well, fake and boring, even if they are a bit less practical.
Trivia:

-In Kalos, Dill was 20... just below the drinking age. He didn't mind this much as he's not a fan of alcoholic beverages.

-Dill spent several days worth of time on his and Toxis's KalosCon cosplay. 

-Dill doesn't get why everyone thinks 'adult life' is so hard. He also still has no idea what taxes are.

-Dill really misses having hands.

-Dill comes up with the ship names and cheesy sayings for the group. He claims "For all of us with hearts of gold" was his idea because he didn't remember hearing it from Ashley first.

-Dill has a secret fondness for sushi, gazpacho, and high cuisine but will gladly eat any type of fruit or vegetable, along with Johto fast food (aka literal garbage). The things he's not as fond of include carbohydrates, most land animals, and almost everything that usually constitutes Pokemon food. 

-Dill makes up "scenarios" in his head which he's never really considered as fanfiction but in all honesty might as well be.
