Daily Doodle- All Of My Friends/Meet me in the Woods

If you haven't seen the Meet me in the Woods Warriors map you should so

Anyhow I've been hardcore hatin' it the last few... weeks and I mean like since my NaNoWriMo stopped it's been this intense cycle of me either feeling okay or just wanting to die and several of my teachers have noticed (whoops) so that's been fun

i mean i'm better now... at least, in this moment, because i finally have free time to create and i'm so happy i might actually cry. i doubt you guys noticed much of an absence and i don't think anyone

srs tho i did some art and now i'm gonna write and i feel so good rn so here's a doodle dump with song titles for the title and everything! like holy shit! two songs!

(Oh yeah I'm working on a really good Broken Souls update- expect it tomorrow, I'll try to double update then. Hopefully this tides y'all over for tonight?)

So somewhere in the depths of spring-ish in ninth grade I tried to make a second set of Amalgamates and I was so bored with how half of them turned out that most of them are just sitting around on a document somewhere, not existing. Sophie, on the other hand... she marched right up to me, set down her credentials, and demanded to be written.

She used to be from one of the Earth dimensions not hidden behind the firewall that protects many of them from renegade dimension jumpers. She followed some dragons through a portal and has bounced from world to world ever since. Her main tool is a sword that can cut the boundaries between worlds (a falchion, to be exact) and she's a bounty hunter, specializing in tracking down rogue (fallen) angels and has collaborated in plots to get rid of certain fallen seraphim.

Also she has cool hair so there's that.

Going back to the true forms for my amalgam characters, here are some quick sketches of Mimsy's non-human form. They're shapeshifters, so they can technically become whatever they want, but that's confined mainly to existing species, magical or otherwise. The true form is more of a representation of their psyche and how they feel about themselves, which manifests into a physical form they can take.

Mimsy is one of the younger ones (I think I drew her a few thousand times earlier?) and she seems like the cute, cinnamon roll roleplayer at first but there's a lot more going on with her. She has a knack for dramatic poetry but she's also technically the oldest- she was made before the others, and has the most memories of their creation. The others remember very little, which frustrates her, but she's kept the information more or less secret (well, she's told a few people, but that lead to some deaths and then Red restarted the timeline... so... she hasn't told anyone who remembers).

Her true form is a mystical beast based off two tailed cats and spirits in general. It's a benevolent protector, which is what she aims to be, but she also just wants to run far far away and well... giant cats are pretty fast. She also likes the air of mystery because HECK YEAH GIANT CATS.

Most of her plot arc in the book (the theoretical book seeing as I'll probably never write it) involves her dealing with this sort of double life where she really wants to be human and will kind of wander streets, try to go to school, etc. but at the same time she's just.. not good at it, since she's seen way too much and she's a bit of an eccentric old soul. Usually her encounters end up with her crying and/or running away.

Damien is usually a quiet special snowflake but his true form is a little more flamboyant and he gets PEACOCK FEATHERS! His antlers have bells on them and along with a nigh magical singing voice, he gets the power of Good Self Esteem (tm) which in and of itself is pretty sweet.

He's usually the quietest of the group but he's very passionate about music and his craft in general. Sometimes the group goes into towns and he'll just go find the nearest store and listen to the pop music blaring in the background. He also goes to poetry slams with Gillian, Mary, and Alex and they have a good time together

Red, while the most fun to write about, is also one of the worst to draw because WHAT IS EVEN GOING ON HERE and how do I make his weird plant noose thing look less stupid plz help

Anyways yes that is an actual noose to some extent but originally it was also going to be kind of a tail too before i was just like "fuck it, he gets his own tail". The ram skull symbolizes DEATH and the rotting flesh also represents DEATH and who am I kidding man 90% of this design is just a desperate cry for help from a severely overworked leader who's scared of all of his loved ones because he's seen most of them gore each other to death

ANYHOW Red has the ability to reset a given period of time (he can turn back time a maximum of two days) and he uses it to keep his family, who are all incredibly dangerous and unstable monstrous shapeshifters (and teenagers to boot!) from killing other people or each other. Everyone seems pretty stable on their own but in the right moment, they don't really know their own strength...

Red doesn't do much shapeshifting himself, he's arguably one of the most human of the group and the 'real' him scares him. His true form grows over his own flesh and is excruciatingly painful. His voice echoes out of the bottom of the ram skull and sounds like a thousand voices superimposed over each other.

This started as a Delta sketch but looks nothing like him so I guess it's just a random Progenitor Canira now.

Drawing some dragon characters for an old friend today. You guys might remember Fenris from whenever ago and he still needs a new name because Fen from TGD (although I might just change that Fen instead because what a waste of a perfectly good name). He's from Luminous, which is a story about time travel, dragons, and the other side of the story of the war between dragons and the Canii/Sentients in general. Basically in Elysium (the dragon hubworld) young dragons from across the multiverse are chosen to become the dragon version of Defenders and travel the worlds together, working to unravel mysteries and enforce law and order.

For hating each other so much, Sentients and dragons have A LOT in common. Trust me.

Fenris is the melee fighter of the group. He pretends to be a lot nastier than he is and is a bit of a dragon elitist, though he's low key fascinated with other cultures and species. He's a bulky edgelord who isn't afraid to given G'ren an earful whenever he feels like it.

G'ren (aka narwhal mom) is the group's leader. She's a little sharp, especially to those she doesn't know, but she's well studied and keeps her cool in crises. She's also a bit of a stickler for traditions, although you'd never know from her unorthodox way of going about her job. G'ren was an orphan, like all heroes of mysterious origin, and her home on the arctic flats of her homeworld was nothing if not uninteresting. Still, she shows potential, and is determined to make something of herself.

Venia doesn't usually have noodle arms. She's the cloaker for the group, meaning she deals with illusioning her teammates so they can blend in with the locals. She also has most of the information on magical anomalies and how to contend to them. Seeing as G'ren is a magical anomaly in and of herself, and bears a strange resemblance to the legendary Era, the angels of myth, Venia is studying her with extreme interest. She's about a quarter of the size of the others but tugs Fenris's ear every time he brings it up. She bites hard, stings harder, and runs her mouth rarely but when she does...

oh, you're in for a wild ride.

the last two are old hence why they're awful

so I promised that i'd post the deja vu doodles again because i have over thirty of them already on my computer, expect those over the weekend.

For now, here's a teaser. Serena's a straight-A student with tons of extracurriculars, headed straight for Ivy Leagues, when she ends up part of Team Alpha and that sidetracks EVERYTHING. She's not happy about being on the team and while I haven't decided on her powers yet, I have decided that she's either going to be awful with them or they're going to be borderline humilating (read: more shapeshifting, which was the original plan).

She's one of my favorites, but I've planned all the Deja Vu characters so intensely that they're all my favorites at this point.

and to wrap us up, a doodle of Light:

Yes, that's a coat around her waistline. I kind of screwed up the pants and had to emergency save the drawing.

The lyrics are from Lollipop, which is this one song I couldn't get out of my head for Y E A R S and it doesn't help that the actual meaning is... less than kid friendly? I still like "too much candy gonna rot your soul" so I used it here but let's just say it's staying out of context.

Light is one of my three (four?) seraphim I've been working on, with Jones-Emberson and Aislyn being the others, with Ashleap as a potential fourth (she fits the criteria but shouldn't count because fanfiction). Anyhow, the world Light was made to protect was a kind one and she walked among them as a young child, but the world was rendered devoid of life during an interdimensional war and she was left to wander the cosmos alone, the sole survivor (as seraphim can't die unless their holy power is drained from them).

To keep herself from growing twisted and cruel, she kept her childlike form and most of the mindset, but her loneliness only grew and grew. From her power manifested a new world, much like a shell of the one she had lost, and she began to play god over the inhabitants there. The main story I have planned for her involves her "friends", so to speak.

Basically when the story starts she's acting like any normal fifth grader. She's made a whole universe around her and as far as everyone else is concerned, she's just *been* there forever, though she basically made all this up and inserted herself into it. Her friends and her discover that they've begun to develop magic powers, small things like turning on and off light switches without touching them and making plants grow at their fingertips.

Now, they must work together to survive fifth grade during the day and travel the Ruined Realm during the night, where they can summon beasts, fuse consciousnesses, and do all sorts of insane magic. Little do they know the Ruined Realm is Light's own subconscious mind and she created the entire thing as a cosmic game to keep herself from growing lonely in the void.

Her creations have taken on a life of their own, however, and now the fate of the world as they know it rests on a few fifth graders who've just found out that their 'friend' is a omnipotent being whose intents may be less than benevolent...

Anyhow, I doubt anyone still reads this stuff, but I haven't written this one yet because 1) character dynamics and 2) plot. I have a few scenes planned but the real question is where it's going. Are they trying to help her, stall for time so she doesn't grow bored with their existence, push her out so their world can exist on its own...? I don't really know the others well enough to work it all out but I'm getting there.
