1.25K!

so i hit a milestone today

I mean usually my follower count increases and then decreases the next day because someone deletes their account/unfollows me so it's likely I'll go under tonight and hit it again on... Wednesday... but let's celebrate now anyways with some hasty sketches because it's late and I'm still screwed for both school and the contest I'm supposedly entering. Fun times.

This is the only time you'll ever see Gale and Indy interacting in canon without trying to out passive-aggressive each other so savor it.

and a much more calm Rose Eudica to round us out.

So again I'm very grateful for this (!) and will try to be around more best I can, although I'm guessing most of the art folks have been noticing an uptick in the last few days anyways.
I'm going to remind everyone that yes I do have school which is... at least part of the reason my updates are infrequent, with the other half being the issue of continuous motivation. Writing a novel in a month is hard, but writing four novels a year is basically suicide, even though it seems like the latter is a significant deal easier than the other. It's not the rigor of the work that kills you but rather just the strain of continuously working for it.

It's not that I don't love my characters or stories, I do, and anyone who's spoken to me lately knows that. They're... kind of a big part of me and what I do, as well as a stepping stone to my potential career, but I kind of need to balance it out occasionally.

Otherwise you get Extraordinary, my last follower goal, which was poorly planned and I apologize for that. I do plan to start it up again but expect updates to be infrequent at best...

I do have a story I planned to start at 1.25K, but it will more likely start in February, as discussed in earlier chapters. I might bump it up because it fills an important niche in my line up- it's a Warriors fanfiction. I still love some of the aspects of Ashleap's Fall (the ending still holds up in my eyes) but the pacing is horrendous, several subplots are dropped, and a lot of the worldbuilding just kind of happens and is never resolved ever (what is going on with Shadowstar? What? Past me? What???). Since I read a lot of Warriors fiction myself I'm always a bit ashamed to find authors turning back to my page, reading that first, and dismissing me as a novice who just so happens to be good at critique when I'm capable of much more. I suppose it's also unreasonable to expect people to drag themselves through my original works so having a warriors fiction up there would be nice.

I've also been working on it for... a year... so the characters are decently well cemented. Between planning that and The Space Between Stars I'm going to be very busy but it'll all be worth it.

Hopefully that's a good enough reason to stick around a while longer. ;)
