Downtown Vale

I got outta Beacon about 30 minutes ago. Now I'm just waiting on Roman to give me a call.

It pisses me off that I gotta do this, especially since I'm playing with my freedom again.

I finally feel my scroll ring as the contact reads "Your Boss" again. I need to change that for Oum sake...

Me: Yeah, Roman?

Roman: Am I right in assuming that you're near the store?

I sigh before replying.

Me: Yeah. Now what?

Roman: How am I supposed to know? That's for you to figure out.

He hangs up as I look at my scroll, tightening my hand around it.

Me: That asshole...

Well I might as well case around the shop try and see what I'm dealing with.

The front looks like it's covered with shutters so I guess I won't have to worry about random passerbys.

I head to the back alley to see the back door locked with a keycard reader. Well that might be a bit of a problem. I also see the dumpster that Roman wants the dust stashed away. It's empty.

Just then red lights flood the alleyway as I jump behind the dumpster.

I peek out to see a truck behind the store. Then a kid, no older than 17, hops out of the truck.

He opens the back of said truck for the contents to be dust.

He grabs a canister and takes it to the backdoor. He digs a keycard out of his pocket and swipes it.

The door opens and he goes inside. Well there's one way to get inside.

But should I really do it? I'd have to actually get the card from him and I can't pickpocket him without him suspecting something. I'd have to knock him out or something.

There's also the dust in the truck. I know Roman said the store but there's a whole truckload right here.

Damnit I have to. It's my only way to get in and the truck could get me on Roman's good side.

I sigh and pull on my mask as I finish, the kid walks out to grab another canister. This is my chance.

I walk to the back of the truck and pull my piece. He turns back to see me with it aimed at him.

His eyes widen and he slowly sets the canister on the ground of the truck. He visibly shakes and raises his hands still shaking.

Delivery Boy: A-a-are you one of those P-payday Gang imposters?

He's clearly scared, poor kid. But at least he thinks I'm an imposter, that makes things a little easier.

Me: Yeah, and?

Delivery Boy: A-and you want the dust? Take it! Just d-d-don't hurt me!

Me: I need a little more than the dust and you have it.

He backs up a bit and cock my piece.

Me: Don't. Now I need you to make this easy.

He nods his head quickly enough to give himself whiplash.

Me: I need you to lie down. I'll tie you up and blindfold you. I trust you enough not to make me gag you. If I do, we're going have a few problems understand?

He nods again and lays down. I cable tie him and blindfold him with a rag inside the truck. I also take his keycard off of him.

Delivery Boy: L-look. I'm just a delivery guy. I-I don't matter!

I look to him and sigh.

Me: You matter to many people, also what did I say about talking? Don't worry I ain't gonna hurt you.

He quiets down as I start bagging the dust.

Time skip

Well, that's everything. Apparently the alarm is activated every time the backdoor locks which it does so after one minute of closing.

There's also motion sensors so that the door doesn't lock and traps you inside with the alarm on. Did I mention that said motion sensors also set off the alarms?

Well enough of that, I cleaned out the store and the truck neatly. The owner might take a hit with the dust, but at least he won't have to deal with damaged property too.

I got everything into the dumpster and walk into the now empty box truck and walk up to the kid.

Me: You asleep kid?

He slightly flinches at my voice and I sigh.

Me: Calm down and listen close.

He nods slowly.

Me: I'm gonna take off the blindfold and restraints, then I'm gonna watch you take off. Right?

He nods again.

Me: Now I want you to listen extra carefully to this next bit here.

Me: You're not gonna speak a word about this to anyone. You tell your bosses that you got knocked the fuck out and woke up around this time to find the truck empty. You with me this far?

He nods.

Me: Now if I find out you did talk, I will find you and I bet you can imagine what's gonna happen when I do. Do I make myself clear?

He doesn't nod this time and I take the blindfold and zip cuffs off.

He looks around the empty truck in amazement.

Delivery Boy: W-where did you put it all?

Me: That's not something for you to worry about. Worry about leaving before I change my mind.

I hopped out of the truck with him following soon after.

He closed up the truck and got into the cab.

I saw him starting to hyperventilate from the sideview mirror.

I hit the side of the truck a couple of times and he looked at me from the mirror.

Me: You'll be fine, go.

He calmed down, started the truck and pulled out of the alley. Well, that's done and dusted. Time to call Roman.

I grab my scroll and tap on Roman's contact.

Ring...

Ring...

Ri-

Roman: Is it done?

Me: Yeah. It's all there.

Roman: Good job! Looks like you're not getting your door knocked down with a hammer tonight.

Me: You better be happy, I got a little something for you.

Roman: Oh! Am I going to be surprised by this "little something"?

Me: Yeah, you should be. Consider it a favor you owe me.

Roman: Now don't get ahead of yourself, Houston. I still have to see it.

Me: Talk more tomorrow then?

Instead of answering, he hangs up.

Me: That asshole!

Well no time to dwell on it, gotta get back to Beacon.

Time skip

Morning

I wake up expecting to be on the dormitory roof, but I'm once again surrounded by white.

I'm standing or laying down. I can't tell.

Then the voice came.

???: You just can't seem to keep away, huh kid?

I turn frantically trying to find the voice again.

Me: Who the hell are you?! Why are you here?!

???: Like I've said kid, you'll know someday kid.

???: But as it stands, I've been watching you and I've seen what's happened. You got captured by Roman and forced to do his bidding. Like a haunting sin.

???: Then you took another kid hostage and let him go, that was pretty admirable in my opinion, kid.

Me: Why the hell are you watching me?!

I hear a chuckle then a sigh.

???: Stubborn. But I guess that's only natural.

???: You're going down a bad path, kid. And I'm the only person that can try and guide you away from it. But you're gonna have to be the one to stay clear of it.

Me: And how are you gonna guide me?

???: Calmed down I see, good. Now listen...

???: As I went down in the valley to pray...

I woke up with a start and breathed heavily.

I stood up and walked to the edge of the building. That's when it started.

My head started throbbing and I felt my mouth moving on it's own.

???: The first song of many or few...

Before I knew it I started singing.
