Sage : " * speaks telepathically to Ryan * I've got to say that I have a bad feeling about this one", he said to me and I tried to sense this guy's presence. His aura was a very dark one and it was an arcane one similar to Sage's and my own. The scary fact is that this guy's strength right now is similar to my own as most of my own is sealed for as long as I am in Midgard, so he probably has the same problems as well. This is going to be a really tough one to fight against.

Author's POV

The masked person had walked closer to the podium, standing by Adam's side.

Adam : " * looks at him * Show them that we're not ones to be messed with that easily.", he said to him and as a response, the masked man had raised a gloved hand towards the faunus participants, an ominous dark aura had started to glow around it.

??? :" Since I see that some of you are thinking otherwise, then it seems that I'll have to force you to obey. Abyssal Art : Dark Binding .", he said as most of the faunus begun to hold their heads, seeing that their auras were turning into a more corrupted form.

Ryan : ' * in his mind * What kind of presence is that? It's like everyone's will is getting sealed away', he thought to himself.

Sage : " * speaks telepathically to Ryan* We have no other choice, but to protect the others in case we get outnumbered.", he replied to his twin.

Ryan : " Ok then, time for something that we had to use since back in training. Arcane Art : Soul Purification", he said, separating pieces of his aura and giving them to Blake and Sun in order to protect them from being controlled.

??? : "* raises an eyebrow behind his mask * So you've managed to break my spell on you and your friends. * chuckles darkly * It seems that I've managed to lure you out.", he said.

Ryan : " You're far too powerful to be left unchecked, so there are two ways this can go either you leave this realm or you're fighting me here and now. ", he said to him, albeit knowing that the second choice would be a really hard one to do and as a response, the masked man had turned his back to him.

??? :" * smirks in sinister way * It appears that you've taken me far too lightly for your sake, but I have to correct an over a thousand years old mistake. Your death.", he said to him, proceeding to dash towards Ryan and do a two punch combo which had the latter to not react to the first hit by being knocked back many meters away.
Ryan had then managed to activate the Graceful Lotus, his gauntlets and block the second hit, but still resulted to being pushed back zdue to the momentum, towards a mountain passing straight through it.

(A/n : Just like that, but replace Broly with the Masked Man and Super Saiyan Vegeta with Ryan)

Ryan : ' *In his mind * I'll give it to him, he's not only fast, but strong', he thought to himself, dodging one of the masked man's attacks, before staggering him with a gut punch and knocked him upwards, towards the sky with Ryan following close behind.

(A/n : Back with Sun and the others)

Sun : " * looks up towards the sky * Wait a second? HOW THE **** CAN HE FLY!?", he yelled.

Blake : " Sun watch out!!", she said to him since a possessed White Fang member had tried to attack him from behind, only to be blocked by a certain red and black scythe.

Ruby :" Did you forget about us? ", she said to her, proceeding to knock the White Fang member away from her by using the back of her Crescent Rose.

Blake : " Don't tell me that you brought along him with you?", she asked her politely, knowing all too well that if she brought Luke to the fight with them, there's no way that they could protect him if someone had used him as a hostage or worse, killed him.

Yang :" He's back to Beacon with Goodwitch and Ozpin ", she said to her as she had used Ember Celica in order to punch a soldier away.

(A/n : Back with Ryan)

Ryan was fighting with the masked man, exchanging blows upon blows with extreme speeds, creating sparks with each collision and shockwaves to the surrounding area as the ground, even though it was meters below them, proceeded to crack ever so much.

(A/n : Like that just replace Goku with Ryan and Vegeta with the masked man)

Their clashes were vicious, none of them seemed to back down as they were ascending without knowing to altitudes higher than ever expected.

Ryan : ' *In his mind * Wait a second? How did we get to space?' , he thought to himself, seeing that they were at space, not even in the dark sky that they used to be fighting moments ago, but at this moment that he had basically let down his guard, the masked man proceeded to give him a hard punch on the face, knocking him on the moon.

(A/n : Just like that, but replace Goku with Ryan and Broly with the masked man, imagining that he was punched all the way to the moon)

Ryan : ' *In his mind * How's this possible, he was strong, but not THAT strong a few moments ago... * sees that the masked man had teleported in front of him * What the...!? ", he thought to himself, but couldn't manage to finish his words since he had taken over 100 consecutive hits in a split second making him to drop down to his knees.

??? :" Tch, is that really the best you can do? If so, you're pathetic. You could have joined my cause instead of being a liability against me. Think Arkeyan!!! You could outlive every single, insignificant being in this universe and rule them as you so wished, but no instead you decided to try and fight against me and  * starts to fly to the air * since you've decided to be a fool and defy me, you'll perish here first and then the rest of your pathetic world. ", he said to him, getting ready to use a massive attack.

??? :" It's over!!! ", he yelled as he had tossed the energy blast towards Ryan, the light from its emitting energy was big enough to be seen through the galaxy itself.

(A/n : Back to Earth)

Ruby/ Yang : " * have tears in their eyes * RYAN!!!!", they shouted.

(A/n : Stop the previous music and begin with this one)

Blake : " * her cat ears were down in sadness * It's over", she said.

(A/n : Back with Ryan)

An evil grin had made its appearance on his face of the masked man, thinking that he had won the fight by exterminating the last surviving Arkeyan, but his eyes had widened seeing that his attack was canceled out and Ryan was looking at him with silver colored eyes.

(A/n : Just like that, but imagine that it's Ryan who has silver eyes and hair instead of Goku)

??? : " Impossible, he still managed to ascend.", he said to him, trying to attack Ryan who had flawlessly dodged his attack and counter attacked.

(A/n : Just like this, but replace MUI Goku with Ryan and Jiren with the masked man)

(A/n : Back to Earth)

Weiss : " What the... how is it possible that a galaxy is that close to here?", she asked in confusion, seeing silver colored light in the form of galaxy appearing for a split second where Ryan and the masked guy were fighting.

Sun : " There's one more thing.. I-I can't feel his energy, it's as if he has completely vanished!!! ", he said to them.

(A/n : With Ryan and the masked man)

The masked man seemed frustrated by the fact that the opponent he was seemingly beating with little to no effort had overcome the massive gap in power out of nowhere. He had tried to attack him yet again, only for Ryan to narrowly dodge and counter, knocking him through a lunar mountain range.

(A/n : Just like this, but as always replace Mui Goku with Ryan and Jiren with the masked man.)

??? : " * chuckles darkly * You're finally showing your true power", he said to him.

Ryan : " Does this mean that you were still holding back? It doesn't seem like that." ,he retorted.

(A/n : Stop the previous music and begin with this one) 

??? : " * smirks slightly * Ironic coming from the one who was holding back as well", he replied, powering up, shaking the entire moon and surrounded himself in a red aura.

(A/n : Just like this, but replace Jiren with the masked man)

??? : " I can't release more power due to the fact that I'm constantly suppressed, but it'll be enough for the likes of you!!", he said to him as he proceeded to attack Ryan, making the latter to have to actively reciprocate the attack with one of his own, cracking apart part of the moons surface, actively beginning round three.

(A/n : Just like this, but replace Broly with the masked man and Gogeta with Ryan)

After that, they both were at the air, fighting against one another, clashing blow after blow with strength that sent shockwaves throughout the entire universe destroying far away planets, extinguishing suns, tearing apart galaxies and making the universe to shake down to its foundations as it was the place of the battle between two godlike beings.

Ryan/??? : " HAAAAH!!!", they both yell at one another, clashing fists with all their might, creating a dimensional rift.

??? : "Nani!?", he said, getting punched out of the rift by Ryan, cracking his mask in the process,  showing half of his face. The rift itself had ceased to exist and gotten them back at the night-to-day skies of Remnant for possibly the most intense yet menacing staredown of the century.

They had then started to throw high speed blows on one another, but there was the fact that Ryan's strength was getting lower and lower, meaning that he had to finish the fight quickly or else he was done for. He had kneed his opponent to the gut, earning a sharp gasp from him before doing a sledgehammer strike to knock him down, breaking half of his mask.
He had then moved as fast as he could possibly go against him, coating his hand in his energy ready to end the fight, but to his misfortune, his power had run out at the last possible moment.

??? : "You were a powerful opponent and although you have earned my respect, the war is yet from over... Azryn Oathwood.", he said to him, making Ryan's eyes to widen as to how did he knew about his true identity, before he had blasted him away.

He had looked towards his hands, seeing them starting to fade, meaning that the time of his vessel in this realm was over, but as he was fading away, he had looked towards the others and especially Weiss to be specific about it before leaving.

A/n : ???'s POV

Location  : Muspelheim

I had returned back to my castle from the fight against the last heir of Jotunheim, Azryn Oathwood himself and as I had sensed the duality of his aura, this could only mean that his twin Sage Oathwood was also in the same body, which is convenient for me since I could kill two birds with one stone.
Their names will be engraved in my memory since  one truly of them had matched me in both strength and techniques whilst in Midgard since their energies were of similar purpose, alas they still has a lot to learn until the next day our paths cross again with one another.

I had went to my chambers, removing alone my armor and my mask, looking at the mirror, allowing others who are watching and reading away from this place and reality to my face.

There's now only one thing that has managed to still not be answered and might continue to torture me until we meet again, why did that white haired girl's energy was so similar to mine?

A/n : Weiss's POV
I was alongside Ruby and the others, when that mysterious man had seen me and I could swear to Oum that I had seen a flash of recognition in his eyes, what did that mean? Maybe we'll never know for sure yet since the only thing that was first in our priority list is to take Ryan back to Beacon's infirmary, because he clearly took a beating.

A soldier could be seen running towards an office, his outfit was pretty close to what a normal soldier's outfit would have been wearing down to the helmet, bulletproof vest, combat boots, some slightly armored parts, whilst a weapon similar to a laser pistol and a walkie-talkie type of device was on his utility zone.

Soldier : " * salutes as soon as he had entered the office * Sir, the scientists told me that they have the answers that you seek.", he said to his general who was none other than General James Ironwood (A/n : * cough * Shitwood * cough *) who had pressed a button on his office, opening a holographic projection that showed the head-scientist who was the closest thing possible to a 'stereotypical' scientist since his uniform consisted of the white lab coat, black rubbery gloves to protect himself from electrical voltage, ridiculously big glasses, jean trousers, black shoes and grayish hair that were as if they were zapped by high voltage similar to old cartoons.

Head-scientist : "* fixes his glasses * Sir, we are in the exquisite place to let you know that the massive energy signal was actually the aura of two living beings", he said to him, making the General to sigh heavily and use his gloved left hand in order to rub the bridge of his nose.

General Ironwood : " For the name of Oum I hope that this is not an idea coming from the comics of your nephew, Dr. Brown.", he said to him sternly.

Dr. Brown : " * chuckles * I knew that you would tell that this might sound foolish to hear old friend, but if you saw the footage from the Satellite before it was vanished without a trace you might think otherwise. ", he said to him, pressing a button on his laptop, showing to him the footage from the satellite.

Ironwood's eyes were shining with a glance of both jealousy to the fact that a fox faunus was stronger than everything on the planet and probably the known universe itself and hatred towards the faunus for having someone with a bizarrely strong Semblance in their ranks.

General Ironwood : " I dare to say that I'm obviously impressed by your showings Dr. Brown. If you manage to search about his Semblance and every possible weaknesses it might have, we would have ourselves an extremely strong weapon in order to exact our will to others who might oppose us. ", he said to him, making Dr. Brown's eyes to widen.

Dr. Brown :" In all my days as a scientist, I've sworn to never use my knowledge against others or to the enslavement of others. You're starting to slowly be driven into insanity day by passing day Ironwood, so I'll say to you only one thing, don't try to start a fight that you possibly can't be able to win and since we never knew what percentage of his power he was using, don't try to meddle with powers and people who you can't control, even if they're faunus. * gets out his honorary badge and breaks it * I'm leaving, because your foolishness will be the end of.... ", he said to him ,but was interrupted by Ironwood closing the holographic projection, by literally smashing his mechanical hand through the office's machine in anger.

??? :" Do you want me to hunt him down? ", a feminine voice asked him from the place in the shadows were two icy blue eyes had appeared at.

General Ironwood : " Let him be, no point in going after a broken tool when you don't need it. * looks behind his shoulder at the shadows * You're going to get your revenge Winter, just not this time.", he said to her calmly, hearing small, rhythmical clanking noises on the metallic floor, along with faintly heard hydraulic noises as Winter had appeared.

(A/n : That's how Winter will look like for the rest of the story since her lower body was fully crushed beyond any possible repair by Sage back in the chapter called The Bond Of A Family (Part 2).)

Winter : " And I'll make sure that when the time comes, I'll make sure that he suffers many times over both mentally and physically for what he had done to me.", she said to him.

A/n : Hello everyone Son Raon here and I present to you the latest chapter of my story Remnant's Giant called Reminiscences From A Dark Past. By this chapter I've dived mostly on the least one sided battle of Ryan vs The Masked Man and about his identity, I've left a small hint in the form of the location for those who are paying attention in small details such as which character is from where and such. I hope that you will enjoy this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing and working on it in order to be polished for you. Also, make sure to buckle your seat belts because this story might get progressively darker the more we dive deeper into it.
