A/N: Remember, Ruby sees Y/N as a brother, though he's her cousin. Oh and before anyone asks, I'm taking it a bit slow with Y/N since I wanna give the impression that he is training and gaining the experience. Though soon, he will be around 18 in a future chapter.

Third Person POV

As the broken moon shined down on Remnant, Raven Branwen stood on the branch near the home of the Rose-Xiao Long family. Her eyes stayed fixated on her nephew's window. It slowly opened and Y/N's small hands could be seem pushing it up. That was Raven's cue. She transformed into her bird form and flew straight inside of the room. She transformed back and looked at Y/N, who was currently rubbing his wrist. "Why are you doing that? Do you do that when you're nervous?"

"No..."
"Then why?"
"Dad... grabbed it earlier."
"For what reason?"

Raven took a knee and put her hand out to see Y/N's wrist. He stopped rubbing it and showed her "I... said something about Mom." Raven narrowed her eyes as she saw bruising on his wrist "That shouldn't excuse this. No parent should harm their child."

She stood up and cut open a portal which lead to her tribe "Come on." Y/N nodded and grabbed his backpack which was in the corner of the room. Raven took his hand and walked through the portal with him. Leave no note or sign that he was leaving.

(Honestly don't know why some stories do that. Not that it's a bad thing, but why leave a note to the people who neglected, forgot, or abused, you? Not that it would be aimed at Summer, Ruby, Tai, and Yang. Just aimed at Qrow)

The Next Morning

Ruby Rose woke up and wiped her eyes off the crust which stationed themselves on them. She covered her mouth to hide her yawn and she got out of bed to stretch. Yang was still asleep, snoring in a similar way to her father. After doing her morning routine, she went to Y/N's room, knocking on the door loudly "Big brother! Wake up!" After a few seconds she didn't hear the usual "5 more minutes." She opened the door only to be met by... nothing. Maybe he was downstairs? She made her way down the steps to see Taiyang cooking breakfast "Daddy, have you seen Y/N? He wasn't in his room..." Tai stopped for a moment and looked back at the young girl "Maybe he's in the bathroom."

"Nope. I was just there."
"Huh... You stay here. I'll go check outside..."

Meanwhile, with Y/N

The young Branwen watched as his Aunt was teaching a girl around his age. Raven seemed to be mearly toying with the girl while she was giving her all. "If you can't land a single punch on me, how will you even fight a Grimm?" The girl began to get a little angry and she started to throw out wild punches, making it easier for Raven to take her down. Raven moved to the side and put her foot out, making the girl fall on her face. "You can do better Vernal. 5 minute break."

Raven looked at Y/N before walking back into her tent. Y/N ran over to Vernal and helped her up "Are you okay?" As Vernal stood up she dusted herself off "No." She sighs and looks at Y/N, slowly narrowing her eyes "I don't think I've met you."

"Oh I'm Raven's nephew."
"Nephew? So you're Qrow's son."
"...Yeah. Wait how do you know-"
"If you grow up around here, you hear stories. He abandoned the tribe, but as along as you don't... maybe I'll like you."

Vernal went back to her tent to plan on beating Raven and Y/N honestly didn't know what to do. Should he go to Raven's tent or wander around the camp? Well if he was gonna live here, might as well know it right?

Back To The Rose-Xiao Long Home

Tai started to get a little worried when Y/N wasn't in the forest. He was glad he wasn't there with any Grimm, but if he wasn't there, where was he? "Hey Dad, is breakfast ready yet?" Yang came in, yawning like Tai, and took a seat. "Yang, I need you to help look for Y/N." Yang tilted her head, but then remembered what Qrow told her and Ruby. "Got it!"
