"Mate, you've been staring at the Hufflepuff girl for minutes now." Ron told Harry, who was chewing his food slowly while keeping his gaze at the laughing (Y/N). She was sitting beside Cedric and a few of the other Hufflepuff Quidditch team players that Harry recognized.
Harry snapped out of his gaze and drifted his attention away from (Y/N), ignoring his red-haired friend's words while continuing to eat his breakfast. "If you want to talk to her, just talk to her." said Ron.
Harry scoffed and almost rolled his eyes at his words. "If only it was that easy." He said and glanced back at (Y/N), who was now enthusiastically talking about Quidditch to the other Hufflepuff players.
"You've been acting off since yesterday, Harry." Hermione told the black haired boy with a frown as she set her book down to the table. She was waiting for her two friends to finish eating so they could finally go to class. "I know you fancy that girl, but you should really tone it down a bit."
Harry turned to look at Hermione with an annoyed look and an eyebrow quirked up, almost as if he dared Hermione to explain what she meant by that. "What do you mean? I'm not doing anything wrong."
Hermione noticed the sudden hostile look he had and paused for a moment before sighing. "Staring at a girl for an unhealthy amount of time is wrong, Harry. Honestly, if she noticed that you were staring at her, she would think it's creepy." explained Hermione.
Harry said nothing and angrily bit on his lip as he continued to eat his breakfast. He was already in a sour mood when he saw (Y/N) with Cedric earlier this morning, his two best friends were just adding more fuel to the fire.
Harry just thought that they didn't understand him and his feelings towards (Y/N). She's been gone for five years, and in those five years she was gone, the boy remained faithful to her and his feelings for her were unchanged.
He was sure that (Y/N) came back to England just for him. He thought that she just missed him so much that she just had to be in Hogwarts just to be with him, although that's a pretty far-fetched assumption to make.
Once Harry was done eating, he didn't even bother telling Hermione and Ron where he was going and just left the Gryffindor table and the Great Hall. The two Gryffindors watched as Harry left, confused as to why he suddenly walked off without saying anything.
"What's wrong with him?" Ron muttered in annoyance. Whatever's going on with Harry right now, he did not like it. Ron thought that he was just being plain rude.
"Beats me. He's probably mad that we told him off." Hermione shrugged and picked up her book once more. "He'll come around later - he always does. Just finish your breakfast so we can go to classes."
"Don't rush me." Ron told her with an eye-roll.

As the fourth years went to their first class of the day, which was Defense Against the Dark Arts, (Y/N) bid Cedric goodbye and walked off to the classroom by herself, but not before grabbing her Hufflepuff robe back in her dorm room.
She followed a group of fourth year Hufflepuffs who were chatting about how odd the new DADA teacher was, which (Y/N) agreed; he acted very strange on the very first day, strutting to the door like that and calming the thundering bewitched sky of the Great Hall's ceiling.
(Y/N) tried to recall what her DADA lessons were back at Mato while following the Hufflepuff students. She just wished that the current lessons were the lessons that she already covered back at her previous school.
As the Hufflepuff entered the classroom, she scanned the room for a moment before taking a seat in an available chair. Tucking some of her (H/C) locks away from her face, she waited for the professor to come as students eventually piled up inside the classroom.
The girl blinked once she felt movement on the available spot on her seat. She turned around and saw Harry, nervously smiling down at her while setting his bag down.
"I hope you don't mind." He said with a shaky voice. He looked like he was in a rush to get in the classroom or something. (Y/N) brushed her thoughts away and chuckled, moving a little bit to the side to make some space.
"Not at all." She said as Harry sat down next to her. "So, I heard that you're the Gryffindor Quidditch team's seeker." (Y/N) told him, which took him by surprise. He didn't expect her to suddenly talk about Quidditch like that.
"Uh... yeah. I am." He replied. (Y/N)'s eyes twinkled once more as her lips curled up into a wide smile.
"That's awesome, Harry! You play Quidditch too!" She exclaimed, but kept her tone down as she didn't want to bother the rest of her classmates. "I'm a chaser back at Mato!"
Harry's eyes widened when (Y/N) mentioned her Quidditch position. "You... play too?" He asked, a smile eventually coming up to his face when he saw her nod in response.
"Yeah! I thought that being in a team seemed nice, so I joined the try-outs when I was twelve years old for my house. Needless to say, I didn't expect myself to love playing Quidditch when I started out but, here I am." said (Y/N) with a chuckle. She remembered how much she sucked at flying brooms when she first started flying classes, but now she's playing Quidditch and can fly really well.
She improved a lot.
Harry loved how she talked about Quidditch with enthusiasm. He loves Quidditch as well - it's one of the things he loves doing when he's in Hogwarts. He had so much in common with her that he found it amazing.
It was almost like they were meant to be.
As the two continued talking, Ron entered the classroom and scanned the place to see where Harry sat. His eyes eventually caught the sight of his best friend talking to the girl he was staring at this morning.
He narrowed his eyes in suspicion and gripped the handle of his bag tightly. There was something off about Harry ever since (Y/N) entered the picture - Harry didn't act like this to a girl before.
Sure, Harry might've smiled when he saw how well Cho Chang played last year against his Firebolt, but other than that, he never stared at a girl for minutes or even went up to her seat before classes begun.
It's not like Ron was mad or jealous that his best friend wasn't sitting with him, he was just finding Harry's behavior odd.
Nonetheless, Ron has no further evidence that Harry was going insane or anything so he just thought that he missed his old childhood friend so much that he wanted to catch up with her.
The red-haired boy shook his head and walked to an available seat where the Gryffindors sat. Coincidentally, there was an available seat next to Hermione's.
"How rare for you to sit next to me and not with Harry." said Hermione while keeping her gaze down at her DADA book, reviewing some stuff before classes started.
"He's sitting next to the Hufflepuff girl. Probably to catch up with everything else or something." replied Ron while setting his bag down and glancing back at the smiling childhood friends before looking back at Hermione.
"He really fancies her, doesn't he?" commented Hermione as she closed her book shut.
"Fancy is a strong word." Ron frowned and rested his head against his palm. "I think he just misses her. I mean, if I had a friend that was gone for five years and comes back all of a sudden, I'd miss them too and would want to catch up with them."
"Haven't you seen how Harry acted when he realized that it really was her during the sorting?" asked Hermione with an eyebrow raised. "He's infatuated, in a way. Not to mention he wears that ring she gave him years ago almost everyday."
"You're overthinking, Hermione." Ron sighed. "I'm sure it's nothing bad. I bet you that he'd stop acting like this once he gets to talk to her often. It's like how crushes disappear after one week or something."
"I'm not overthinking. I wouldn't have mentioned this if I wasn't sure." said Hermione with a huff. "Don't you find his behaviour strange?"
"I do, but like I said, he'll most likely stop acting like that once they catch up with everything that happened. He just misses his childhood friend, that's all." Ron shrugged, causing Hermione to sigh defeatedly and place her book on the table.
She didn't say anything and glanced behind her to see what (Y/N) and Harry were up to.
However, her eyes slightly widened once she saw that Harry was already staring back at her with an emotionless look on his face. (Y/N) was rummaging through her bag to see if she brought her DADA book with her so she didn't see what Harry was doing.
Hermione gulped and immediately turned away from the two, her heart beating in fear when she remembered how creepy Harry suddenly was. How'd he know she was going to look at them anyway?
She tried to compose herself and took a small deep breath to calm her heartbeat. Hermione wasn't wrong - there was something off about Harry.
"What's wrong?" asked Ron when he noticed that Hermione was suddenly acting all nervous. She shook her head and forced a small smile.
"Nothing..." she said. Ron wasn't convinced but didn't want to pry any further.
Soon after that, Alastor Moody bursted through the classroom doors, causing everyone to almost jump out of their seats and watch as the man kind of limped his way towards the front of the classroom.

Defense Against the Dark Arts was interesting, to say the least. Everyone's first impression of the ex-Auror was the same; he was terrifying and a lunatic.
(Y/N) couldn't believe that he just performed the three unforgivable curses in front of the entire class. Not to mention, he informed it in front of the fourth years.
Sure, (Y/N) already covered the topic of the unforgivable curses while she was still in Mato but at least none of the teachers performed them live, especially since they knew that they were still children. Description from the teacher that taught them this subject was enough for (Y/N) to know what they are without needing to see how they were carried out.
Seeing all three of them being performed made her shudder. The last one, especially. When Moody mentioned that Harry was the only one who survived the killing curse, (Y/N) was even more confused.
No one in the history of magic has ever heard of someone being able to survive Avada Kedavra before. Well, at least that's what the teachers in Mato told them.
"Harry, what did Professor Moody mean when he said that you were the only one who has survived the killing curse?" asked (Y/N) as the two climbed down the flight of stairs that led to Moody's classroom.
Harry gulped, not knowing how to explain it to (Y/N). He was used to people knowing what happened to him and admiring him because he's famous, but he's never had anyone explain what has happened to him before until now.
The Gryffindor assumed that the previous wizarding school that (Y/N) attended probably didn't bother with the big issues that happened here in Europe. She probably doesn't even know who Voldemort is or what the Death Eaters are.
(Y/N) did mention at one point before classes that Mahoutokoro was a very secluded school, which explains why it has one of the lowest students out of the eleven great wizarding schools in the world.
"Well, I didn't tell you this before but a dark wizard named Voldemort actually killed my parents with the killing curse." Harry explained awkwardly. (Y/N) nodded, un-bothered by the sudden mention of the dark lord's name.
Although, a few of the other students who heard Harry say his name almost tripped themselves on the stairs.
"A dark wizard?" She asked, tilting her head to the side.
"Yeah, he gave me this scar." said Harry while lifting some of his hair out of his forehead, revealing the lighting-like scar that he got when he was a baby.
"Oh, I remember you showing me your scar before. I just didn't think too much of it." said (Y/N) as Harry covered his scar once more with his hair. "And is the dark wizard still... you know, running around the country?"
Harry shook his head. "No. When he used the killing curse on me, it rebounded to him instead so it killed him instead of me. That's why many people know me - I'm the Boy Who Lived." replied Harry, remembering how so many people immediately knew him when he first went to The Leaky Cauldron when he was eleven.
"Woah, I didn't realize you were popular, Harry." said (Y/N) with a smile. "I suddenly feel like I shouldn't be around with you." She joked, laughing slightly.
"What are you talking about, (Y/N)?" Harry smiled sweetly, not taking the girl's joke very lightly. "Does it matter if I'm popular or not?"
"I'm just kidding." The girl playfully smacked his arm when she noticed that Harry didn't seem to like her joke very much. "Famous or not, I'll still treat you the same way as we were when we were kids. We're friends, right?"
"Yeah," Harry nodded, his smile faltering for a moment. "Friends..."
As the two were about to go to their next class, they were suddenly greeted by a familiar platinum blonde haired boy that turned to the corner of the hallway where Harry and (Y/N) were passing through.
Harry's expression turned sour as he moved a bit closer to the Hufflepuff, while (Y/N)'s face only lightened up at the sight of Draco. Sure, he might've been a little rude to her when they first met but being a little nice doesn't sound too bad.
"Hey, Draco." She greeted the Slytherin with a smile and a wave. Harry's head snapped towards the girl, disbelief and confusion now on his face.
'She knows him?' thought Harry and watched as Draco stopped in his tracks, along with the two Slytherins that followed him.
The Malfoy scanned (Y/N) up and down, then scoffed when he saw the Hufflepuff house crest on her robes. Harry's eyes narrowed when he saw this, ready to punch the boy if he dares to insult her.
"Oh, it's you." said Draco, his attention now on her. He briefly looked at Harry for a moment before turning his attention back at the girl. "I see you're friends with Potter over here." He added with a snigger.
(Y/N) frowned slightly. She felt like Draco and Harry didn't seem too close. "He's my childhood friend. We've known each other since we were nine." She replied.
"Is that so?" said Draco. He then remembered that he doesn't even know what (Y/N)'s blood status was. If she transferred here from Mato, the wizarding school that was known for its academic prowess and (falsley) known for having purebloods in the school, surely she was also a pureblood, right?
"Are your parents purebloods?" asked Draco, causing Harry to hold (Y/N)'s wrist and attempting drag her out of the conversation. He knows that Draco would be up to no good if the second thing he does to a complete stranger is asking what their parents' blood status were.
"(Y/N), we're going to be late." said Harry, but was stopped by (Y/N) when she tried to tug herself away from him.
"W-What? But-" She found it out why Harry wanted to leave in such a hurry. She didn't want to be rude and leave the conversation immediately.
"Why in a rush, Potter?" He asked, then narrowed his eyes towards the Hufflepuff. "Don't tell me she's a mudblood like Granger."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened at the mention of 'mudblood' coming out of Draco's mouth. As far as she knows, the term 'mudblood' was a slur that wizards and witches use against muggleborns.
Even in Mato, calling someone a 'mudblood' was sure to get you a week's worth of detention. Showing any prejudice against muggleborns or half-bloods was strictly against Mato; everyone learned how to respect each other in that school.
Harry turned to look at Draco, his eyes darkening and his eyebrows furrowed together in anger. "And what if she is a muggleborn?" He asked, almost as if he dared Draco to answer him. The Slytherin gulped in fear, but smirked confidently when he thought that Harry couldn't possibly do anything to him in the halls.
"Of course. You're always friends with the lost cause, Potter." scoffed Draco as he turned to look at (Y/N), who was still looking at him as if she couldn't believe that he just called her a 'mudblood'. "Here I thought you had potential. I shouldn't have helped a mudblood like you at the station - if it wasn't for my parents who-"
In a blink of an eye, Harry had the tip of his wand pressed under Draco's chin. He was terrifyingly angry at the Slytherin in front of him that the very look that Harry held towards Draco made him scared.
"Call her a mudblood one more time, Malfoy." He said, slowly. "I dare you." Harry then pushed the tip of his wand deeper on his chin, causing (Y/N) to shake her head and pull Harry away from him.
Draco let out a sigh of relief but he still felt himself shaking when he saw how angry Harry looked at him. If looks can kill - he would definitely be a corpse now.
"Harry, let's just go." (Y/N) avoided the Slytherin's gaze and pulled Harry away from them, but it seems like even Harry doesn't want to let Draco off the hook that easily. "Harry, please. I don't want you to get in trouble." pleaded (Y/N).
"Harry?" A voice called out. The group, except Harry, turned to look at the owner of the voice. It was Hermione and Ron, who were looking at the scene with wide eyes.
"Oi mate, what are you doing?" asked Ron as he walked closer towards Harry, then stopped once he saw the murderous gaze he held towards Draco.
"Um..." (Y/N) spoke up, looking at Ron with a frown. "Are you two Harry's friends?" She asked while glancing at the Gryffindor crest on their robes.
Ron blinked and nodded at (Y/N)'s question while trying to regain his composure once he saw Harry's look on his face.
"You should leave this to us." said Hermione as she walked closer to the group, looking at the Hufflepuff with a small smile. She didn't want to scare her with what's happening, especially since it was her first day of classes. "Don't worry - we'll be in the classrom before class starts."
(Y/N) nodded in hesitation. She looked at Harry one last time before jogging her way out of the scene and towards the Transfiguration classroom while holding a map that she retrieved from her bag a few seconds ago.
'What's wrong with Harry? He wasn't this hostile before.' thought (Y/N) then shook her head once more, glancing down at the map and trying to find her right way towards the classroom.
'I'm sure he'll be fine by lunch. I shouldn't worry about him too much.' She sighed then pouted angrily. 'Still, what the hell was wrong with that Slytherin? He just called me a 'mudblood'!'
'And here I thought that he could be nice too.' (Y/N) sighed once more, realizing that her new life in Hogwarts might prove a little bit more difficult with students like Draco around.
