Empty Shells
She stands on the ground, a piece of hefty loam,
The empty shells that choose to, they continue to roam,
For you are talking to vessels, who only function with one mind,
They want to kill those from the world, who choose to leave them behind.
She cries with empty shells, while they pretend to understand,
What it felt like to not feel numb, to move their inept hand,
She laughs with empty shells, while they innocuously laugh along,
It is such an empty rhapsody, the rhapsody no longer feels like song.
She lives with empty shells, they sleep when there is no need,
For a one-track mind spends no energy, on things that would want heed.
She thinks with empty shells, they are waiting for her to implore,
That they take her with them, to their colloquy, the Earth's colourful core.
She speaks with empty shells, for what they need is no truth,
They just jeer or mourn along, and want to perpetuate youth.
She dies with empty shells, she meets a demise of meaning,
For she was the one who truly lived, while her smile could be beaming.
The empty shells look hopelessly on, with their brethren, they will grieve,
For they have lost their only hope, but move on with what they perceive.
