The rest of the day followed uneventfully. The twins stayed away from them

And Etsuko kept Sakoto preoccupied.

Leaving Karma and Gakushū on their own the whole day.

Karma, as much as he pitied Takuma and likes him, felt relieved that Takuma didn't want to pursue him and even encouraged him instead to be with Gakushū.

Takuya meanwhile, the asshole has been quieter and hasn't schemed much, which put him on edge.

Karma just really want to confess to Gakushū about how he felt

He will take  page out of Takuma and confess but not push the guy

He still has a girlfriend

"Let's break up"

Gakushū sat in silence as he stared at the pink haired girl. Her lips quivered and her eyes were everywhere except on him

"Do you mean that? " he asks.

"I feel like we're really not meant for each other" she said. "You're always so busy, we barely go on dates, I'm miserable and you don't care" she explained sadly

"I tried to make time for you" Gakushū defended, trying to save face

The students around them whispered

"Is this a break up?"

"Asano-kun got dumped?"

"Poor guy"

"I don't know I mean he never treated her well anyway"

"She and him didn't work out anyway"

"And even if we are spending time together you're mind seems to be somewhere far away, and you talk about Karma-kun a lot" she added twiddling her thumbs

Oh, so she has noticed. Guess she isn't as dense as he initially thought

"Etsuko-chan is always there for me though, and I feel like I can explore myself with her, find out more about myself and she is accepting"

"It's alright Sakoto" Gakushū interrupts. He has seen how close two two has gotten and likes how Etsuko takes care of Sakoto. "I understand"

"I'm sorry Gakushū-kun"

"I'm sorry too, for wasting your time" bowing slightly he walks past her. "And for being so stupid these past couple of months"

He's relieved Sakoto was the one who took the first move and ended their relationship. Goes to show how Etsuko us a good influence because the old Sakoto would have just quietly stood still and let Gakushū be the one to break up their relationship and leave her without another word.

Instead she voiced out her reasons and her hurt feelings, voicing out how he neglected her as a boyfriend. Which he respects a lot, he will be sure to send an apology gift later and maybe a coupon to a nice restaurant for her and Etsuko to enjoy.

"You're pretty calm for a guy who just got dumped in front of your slaves" came Karma's voice.

He looks up and spots Karma sitting on a tree branch. He didn't even realized he wandered into the school garden.

"Oh so you know already?" That was like, ten minutes ago

"Word travels fast when it comes to you" Karma explained nonchalantly. "And also because Takuma was nearby and told me"

"Ahh" he thinks of the Nobuyuki twins who have been behaved all day. Perhaps they can try to last this behaviour all week?

"So how do you really feel?" Karma dropped from the tree and landed gracefully on his feet.

"I feel relieved, free" Gakushū admitted. "Like  weight has been lifted off of me"

"Oh yeah? How" Karma put his hands in his pockets

"She was right , we barely spent time together and she was miserable" Gakushū shrugged  "and I didn't really care about her in the level a boyfriend should"

"And?" Karma tried to level his excitement.

"And I feel so free" Gakushū sighed. "Now I'm free to pursue who I really like"

"And that is?" Karma asked, already knowing the answer.

"You of course" Gakushū smiled holding out his hand for Karma for take

Karma instead took to pouncing on him

Above them, watching from the window of an empty classroom were the twins, Etsuko and Ren. "Finally" Etsuko smiled with relief. "This feels a bit rushed but what the heck, author just wants to end this"

The boys looked at Etsuko weirdly.

"What? You can't blame her if she forgot the plot and point of the story" Etsuko shrugged. The boys looked even wore weirded out.

"They look happy" Takuma observed.

"And you love torturing yourself, look away" Takuya scolded.

"I can't look away, Karma's smile is too enchanting" Takuma said with a sigh. "But I'll get over it, find someone my league"

"Atta boy" Takuya smirked.

The four of them watched Karma and Gakushū roll around the ground, play fighting and occasionally kissing

Everything was fine

And it got better... Well, depends on how you look at it....
