× Chapter II ×
As the day passed by, I cleaned up the place before they decided to leave right before midnight. The chores took me out whole, exhaustion taking place instead of joy and excitement. My mother decided to make me a meal by herself just how I liked it. Sliced cucumbers and washed tomatoes were placed by a couple of chicken wings on a small white plate as I came out of the room and into the kitchen. Of course, a voice followed by none other than my brother's father.
"I don't know why you're making her dinner when she can make it herself," annoyance crept in as his monotonous voice echoed through my twitching ears.
"Gosh," she retorted and swiftly swung her hand with the plastic spoon. "Go away."
Ivan showed up behind me and went into the crowded kitchen. As my brother had playfully hit his father multiple times on the legs, I sat down in the small dining area and texted Javi. I smiled as I saw that he messaged me a while back, asking for more pictures of myself. I responded with "later" as I quickly hid away my phone from my mother as she slid the plate in front of me.
"Okay, we're going now." She eyed me carefully. "We'll be back in five days. Don't invite people over."
"Yeah, okay," I muttered underneath my breath.
I had begun eating my late dinner as they hurried out of the apartment and closed the door and locked it behind them. I heard them talking about lingering outside in the SUV for a good couple or so minutes before leaving, thinking that I won't be able to hear. I messaged Javi and warned him that he should wait outside by the swimming pool. He was fine with it as I tried to finish my meal within the next five minutes.
I washed the dishes thoroughly and went to the bathroom to wash myself off. I brushed my teeth and washed my face cold. I brushed my wavy tangled hair as I chose to have it down instead of tying it up. It took me a short while to choose which bathing suit to wear, but it led down to the black one where it's slightly see-through from the chest part. I wore it after I changed from my sleepwear. I only grabbed a towel and my phone and keys as I left the room and turned off all the lights at the place. I peeked outside the window from the dining area and saw that the vehicle was no longer there ten minutes later,
I messaged Javi again and as soon as I closed the door behind me, my phone rang.
"Hey," his voice was alarming.
"Oh no," that didn't sound good at all. "Don't tell me?"
"I got a call, but it's nearby. I can still hang for a bit, but I can't swim until I come back."
"My place it is then," I reassured him. "Come on in."
I hung up and opened the door, closing it slightly. I left the towel sitting on top of one of the sofa chairs as I laid down on the loveseat with a breathy sigh. I closed my eyes, my right arm hovering over my forehead while my left one just sat on my body. I heard the door swing open and closed immediately. I didn't look up as I knew who it was. I also smelled his Ralph Lauren cologne from the doorway as he entered.
Footsteps were heard as he inched closer to my direction. As I felt a soft electric wave from his pants to my skin, I opened my eyes and saw his handsome brown eyes. Right there and then, I couldn't stop gazing at him once more. Even when my phone rang as I knew it was him, I completely ignored it and watched him as he slowly lowered himself and sat close to me. My chest was pumped with adrenaline from my heartbeat, with no doubt that he heard it of course. On that note, I think I knew what he did and with caution.
"You're such a big tease." I reminded him.
"Not my fault that you're with somebody else." He then continued as I groaned. "That's on you."
He respected my decision in continuing my relationship with a completely different guy. I don't blame him; it was my choice of action and I never said the word no nor did I back out. I looked at him in defeat, knowing well that I couldn't argue with him most times and that he was usually right and always right. For an optimistic person, I always went to him for his realistic values.
"What are you thinking up there?" He thumped my forehead with his knuckles.
"Ow," I came back to earth. "Nothing, just you."
"What about me?"
"I know you disagree, but the fact that you're perfect to me."
"Maybe to you," he muttered with a huge breath.
He played with my hands, flirtatiously and cautiously. No matter what my decision was, he will always love me and support me. He will always be there for me when I call. As I thought of this, I couldn't help but smile at him. It's no question that my eyes sparkled with joy as he made his way in my direction, as his eyes pierced into my mind.
His phone made a sound which notified him that someone messaged him. That was the cue that our little moment was coming to an end. However, he still lingered. His eyes met mine, whimpering his puppy dog expression with my soft-spoken lips. He inched closed once more, our warm lips hovered one another, as he then kissed my cheeks.
"Sorry," he apologized. "I can't help myself."
"It's fine," I didn't mind.
"I'm still mad at you." He warned me once more.
"I know."
Javi had gotten up from the carpet floor and as I did so, he got in front of me. I lifted my head and my eyes met his chest. I slowly moved my eyes toward his face. He patted my head as he did earlier, and I groaned as I brushed my hair straight a while ago.
"Why?" I whined.
"Cause," but he didn't explain.
He kissed me on my forehead. He left with me being comforted in his presence. As I locked the door, I peeked from the window and saw him slowly riding away with his car. It was midnight, and we both knew that I still technically wore out exhaustion. I changed my clothes back to my sleepwear and got on my bed.
As I slowly dozed off to sleep, my mind hallucinated Javi in front of me, beside me. I smiled a thousand roses not feeling guilt at all as it was only the first month. However, who knows how long I'll be able to see him again before Javi and I hang out again.
