Alright before we get into this, I've had my tablet taken away for the past few days but I was determined to still get this done so I wrote it out in minecraft. On the ps3. Which is painful. So appreciate me please
Kris
...not.
I climbed in the passenger side of her car, and as promised, she started towards hometown. She asked a whole lot of questions, and I mostly answered truthfully. She was really easy to talk to. I sometimes forgot she was even there and felt like I was just ranting to myself. I honestly don't think she had a judgemental cell in her body. Something about her aura just put me at ease, which was a welcome change after the last few days.
"This is completely random," I began, "but you seem like you would make a really great therapist."
"I get told that at least 3 times a day," she laughed. My face glowed with embarrassment.
"W-well, yeah, I would imagine so, b-but- I just meant that-"
"Hey, you're fine, I'm just pulling your leg. Thank you, I appreciate it."
I let my shoulders relax as a sly and mischievous from rested upon my face. "Yeah, well maybe I better retract my previous statement then, huh?" I teased.
"Hey!" she laughed. She turned to punch me in the arm as we crossed onto a bridge. Distracted as we were, neither of us spotted the semi truck drift into our land until the loud horn wailed at us.
The heavy rain had made the bridge slick enough that the driver had lost control of the truck, and it was barreling directly towards the tiny car.
"Holy shit!" the cashier yelled. I'm one last attempt to save our lives, she yanked the steering wheel to the right. Narrowly avoiding getting hit head on, the truck rammed into the driver side door. A scream of pain erupted from beside me.
In a flash, we were hurtling off of the bridge towards the rushing river below. I wrestled with my seatbelt, desperately trying to undo it. Beside me, the cashier seemed to have stopped moving. Just f before we got the water, I gulped down a mouthful of air and unfastened my seatbelt. Once I recovered from the shock of the cold water, I immediately started searching through the glove compartment for a first aid kit. I dug through it until I found a small pocket knife. I used the blade to slice the seatbelt, knowing there was no point in attempting to unbuckle her. With my last breath of air, I broke through the passenger door window using the back of the pocket knife and pulled us to the surface.
I gasped and choked, but somehow I managed to pull us ashore. I realized the cashier still wasn't breathing, so I pressed on her chest until the water spilled out of her mouth. She sputtered and retched, but she was soon alive and breathing. With my adrenaline rush finally over, the exhaustion started to settle in. I only managed to force out a hoarse "You okay?" before collapsing on the cold, hard ground.
