Kris
Exhausted out of my mind, I quickly collapsed on the couch and drifted to sleep. Unfortunately, I was quickly shaken out of the sleep.
"Get off of my bed, dick!" Someone pushed me off the couch, and my head hit the floor with a hard thud. I looked up and saw someone with long dyed-black hair covering one eye and unkempt facial hair staring back at me.
"Who the hell are you?"
"Oh, haha, very funny. Just cuz you get better grades than me and get awards and shit doesn't mean you have to pretend you don't know me."
Something clicked into place. "Asriel!? What happened to you?!"
"Are you fucking high? Look, just get the fuck out of my living room." I stood and started to the stairs.
"I fucking hate that kid. They just had to wander into my life and ruin it," Asriel spat. I continued upstairs and sat down on my bed. Once again, I slipped into a dreamless sleep.
...
"Kris get your ass downstairs!" I woke up with a start as Toriel's angry voice rang out across the house. I quickly stumbled down the stairs. Asriel smirked at me as I passed by him.
"How the hell did you get the police called on us after two days of living here? That's something I'd expect of Asriel, not you! You've been acting different since we came here, and I'm sick of it! When your father hears about this he'll be furious!"
"The police?! What the hell?" I pushed past her and walked toward the door.
"Excuse me, are you Kris?" One policeman asked. The other stared at me intimidatingly.
"Yes?" I said. Two teary-eyed women broke through the policemen and gasped.
"Oh my god, Kris!" One of the women ran up and embraced me.
"Who are you!?" I exclaimed, alarmed.
"Lanie, they don't remember us..." The other woman said sadly. I pushed the frail woman off of me. She sobbed her way into the other's arms.
"I'm so sorry, please let me explain. You probably don't remember us, but we're your true parents. When you were very young, you went for a walk at night. You didn't come back because these- these- people kidnapped you and kept you for your own!"
"What!? We never kidnapped anyone! My child was found wandering around at night! Clearly if you allowed this you're unfit to be parents!" Toriel screamed.
"My child was with a babysitter! We left them with Beth's sister!" Lanie yelled back. My head began to spin as the three women screamed at each other. Cruel words were spat at each other and I had no idea how to react.
I had never even thought about my real parents. I had never known them. Why would I even bother? I had just assumed that they had abandoned me. Suddenly, someone grabbed my arm. It was Beth.
"That's it, I gave birth to you, you're coming with us. You cannot be allowed to stay with these criminals. They took you away from your mothers, and that is inexcusable."
Toriel grabbed my other arm and pulled me back. "They're my child! You let them go wandering!"
I struggled for a minute but managed to slip from their grip. I made a break for it towards the school.
...
I ran into the classroom and sat down at my desk.
"Hey, are you alright? You're late," Susie said, turning to look back at me. I half nodded, but my grim and confused expression told her something was up. "Alright, we'll talk after class." She turned back to the front as Miss Alphys walked in.
"You know the drill by now. Books out, pencils securely in hand. Now hand in your 3 page essay that you were assigned over the summer."
My what!?
...
I stood outside the school and leaned up against it once lunch began. Soon, Susie appeared with Noelle. I mentally shouted at her for still trusting Noelle, but at the same time I wasn't about to send her away.
"What's going on, Kris? You seemed a bit off this morning," Susie asked.
"Well, I woke up to my mom screaming at me, then she told me the police were asking for me, so I went to the door and two women claimed to be my mothers."
"...say what?" Susie looked lost.
"Llok, what's important is that these two women are saying they're my actual parents and apparently Toriel kidnapped me or something and now they want to take me back to their home."
"Wait, but if you end up going with them then that means-" Noelle began.
"Yeah, I won't be able to get back home. I know. I'm scared. I have no idea what's going to be waiting for me once school is over."
"What'll happen to you if you don't get back?"
"Well, I'm going to forget that my home ever existed, I'll be stuck here forever, and I won't know any of my past. And if I end up with them, I won't ever see you again either."
"That's not good. I'm so sorry," Susie said. Noelle stayed quiet.
Just then, the bell rang, and lunch was over. It was time to return to class.
Noelle
It's selfish, I know. But the fact that I have to say goodbye to them regardless makes me angry. I regret calling them. Now, instead of them staying with me, they'll be forced to leave. They'll be miserable when they can never return home, and I'll never see them again.
I messed up.
