Kris

A multitude of emotions washed over me, the most prominent being confusion. What did he mean "we can't give up"? Give up on what? But in addition, I felt a strong longing. I knew that I had to get back there as soon as possible.

"it's worse than i thought. we don't have much time. 5 days, if we're lucky."

"Five days!? How could there possibly only be five days left!?"

"hello, are you blind?! did you not see what just happened?! your world is being torn apart by the seams, and it's pretty damn close to being beyond repair!"

"Well, what are we gonna do!? How are we gonna fix it!?"

"we're gonna need a door of some kind, something to let you cross back over there."

"So like a portal?" Susie piped up.

"no, not a portal, that's too cliche. we're calling it a door."

"Oh. Right, sorry."

"That still doesn't explain how in the fuck you plan on pulling this off!" Noelle snapped.

"the deer's right. i need time to think. get out of my house."

Sans waved his hand to the side, and suddenly, all three of us were outside once more. The bright sunlight burned at my eyes after the extended period of time inside.

"Kris, so you really think he'll be able to find a way to get you back?"

"I'm not sure," I began before getting interrupted by Noelle.

"Hah! Fat chance. That guy's a phony. He's incapable of coming up with any good ideas." I shot her a deadly glare that told her point-blank, I had not forgiven her. She seemed to pale and shrunk down a bit, then continued to scoot a little further away from Susie. I grunted in approval.

Suddenly, I became very lightheaded. I stumbled a bit as a dizzy haze settled over me and my vision blurred.

"Woah, Kris, are you alright!?" Noelle asked, genuinely concerned. Susie shot her a confused and surprised glance, but quickly looked away.

"Yeah, just a little dizzy. Today's been a lot. I just need some rest."

"Okay, see you tomorrow then." Susie started back to her house, but Noelle stayed behind.

"Do you need help?" I was almost shocked, Noelle's voice was so soft. "I can help you get home if you want."

"No, I'm seriously fine. I'll be perfectly fine walking home." I took one step and nearly fell over, but Noelle caught my arm and pulled me up. I whipped my head up and hit her in the snout.

"Ow! What the fuck, I was trying to help you up!"

"Sorry!" I saw a drop of blood fall from her nose, and she wiped it on her arm. "You're bleeding."

"No shit, sherlock. Thanks for that." I noticed that her face was a bit red. "That's it, I'm walking you home, not only for your safety, but for the safety of people innocent civilians who are just trying to walk home and have no intention of getting hit in the nose by some weird ass genderless teenager and getting a bloody nose."

Noelle put one of her arms beneath mine and supported me on her shoulder. I chuckled a little.

"You really don't have to do this, you know."

"Yeah, I know." She sniffled another drop of blood back into her nose. "But these people don't need to get hit in the face, either."

"Alright, I get it. I already apologized, stop patronizing me."

"Nope, I'm gonna patronize you all I want. That's what you get for giving me a bloody nose." She was smiling.

We walked in silence for the rest of the way home. She stopped near my door and sighed. I looked at her. She frowned.

"Please stop doing that."

"Doing what?"

She shook her head. "Nevermind. You're insensitive, you wouldn't care anyway." With that, she left, and left me confused.

Noelle

After Susie left, I asked if Kris needed help. They said they were fine, but then nearly died taking one step. I caught them, and they hit me in the nose with their head. For a split second, our eyes met, and I felt panic rise inside me. They were so close.

I jumped back, and started rubbing my nose, trying to distract from my red face. A drop of blood slowly crept out, and I wiped it away.

I told them that I was going to be taking them home to protect them, but that wasn't the real reason I was doing it, and I knew it. I decided to tease a little bit, and they played along. It drove me insane.

Eventually, we reached their house. I let them go, but they looked back at me. The look on their eye made me crazy, because it gave me a false sense of hope. I knew that they were taken, but once again, life had sent someone to hurt me, to trick me. And I was falling into it's arms.

"Please stop doing that."

"Doing what?"

That missed me off. As if they didn't know exactly what they were doing.

"Nevermind. You're insensitive, you wouldn't care anyway."

I walked away, but not very far. I heard their front door swing open and close again, and as the sun set around me, and the roads grew darker yet, I cried.

Noelle's a little conflicted. Also if you're wondering why Kris was acting that way with her, it's cuz they were delirious from tiredness. They have no interest in her whatsoever.
