Kris
Anxiety rocketed through my bones as I whipped my head around. I saw Noelle, but she didn't seen as though she had even noticed me.
"I told you I'd smash you to pieces of you tripped me!" she was screaming at the ground. For a second I was very puzzled, until I noticed a large stick in the ground. I wiped away what remained of my mostly dry tears.
"Are you yelling at a stick???" I asked incredulously. Noelle snapped her head up. Her face grew red immediately.
"Y-yeah! So what, you got a problem with it?" she challenged.
"No. It's good that your taking your anger out on something other than a confused defenseless child."
"Listen here, pal, I don't know who you think you are, but if you think that I'm gonna let you get away with disrespecting me like that, you've got another thing coming." Strangely enough, she didn't seem nearly as hostile as earlier.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Why are you here?" I asked, ignoring her threat. Despite my chill attitude, I still felt very anxious.
"O-oh. Well, I was bored - since you decided to steal my girlfriend from me this afternoon," she added hastily. She glared. I felt a pang of guilt as I remembered Susie and Noelle's relationship. That made Susie's actions this afternoon even worse.
"Listen, I'm sorry. I never wanted to take her away from you."
"Are you sure? Cuz you two haven't left each other's sides since you met. I don't like it. I don't like how close she is to you, even though you've only met today."
That shocked me. Today had been so long and stressful, it was hard to believe that it hadn't even been one single day. I guessed that my bewilderment had shown on my face, because Noelle looked at me a little warily.
"You good? Did you like... Have a stroke or something? Cuz if you did, I'm not bringing you to the hospital." I snapped out of my daze.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
At that moment, Susie bounded down the road, panting. Her eyes shone with fear and guilt.
"KRIS!" she screeched. "I'M SO SORRY I NEVER MEANT TO KISS YOU AND MAKE YOU UPSET-" Susie froze as she saw Noelle standing in front of me. She tiny hint of humor in Noelle's eyes faded immediately, and was replaced with burning rage just as quickly. I shivered under her gaze.
"Oh shit..." Susie muttered to herself.
