3: Red Blosum
"Do we have anymore clues?" Lisbon asked us looking at the papers that were given to her.
"No, not at all," Cho answered looking at his own papers. I sat looking at the clock. It was almost eight, and Missy was supposed to be off clock by seven thirty. She got into a case, couldn't pull her head out to the real world until it was solved, or someone pulled her back up. I taped her shoulders, and she looked at me.
"It's time to go home," I told her and she looked at the clock. Her eyes grew wide and she grabbed her keys and coat.
"I have to go," she told Lisbon who nodded without looking up.
"Bye Thomas, bye Jane. Oh, and happy birthday," she told her. Missy grabbed the bag she stuffed all her gifts in and we went out to the car. She drove us home, and I opened the car door for her and took her arm in mine. I lead her to the house and sat her on the couch.
"What would the lovely lady like for dinner tonight?" I asked her with a smile. She laughed and thought about it.
"Depends if you are cooking or not," she answered and I smiled.
"I will be your chief for this evening."
"Than I will take the chicken Alfredo you have been promising to make for the past month."
"A wonderful choice. Now why don't you get out all those movies we have stored somewhere and while that is being cooked, we can pick one out and have a movie while we eat."
"That sounds like a wonderful idea, Patrick."
I walked into the kitchen and started the dish. I heard Missy dig through the closet in the hallway and then I heard her sigh with glee. The food was pretty much down since I cooked the chicken today cause I thought I might have it for lunch. The noodles and sauce didn't take too long, and soon I had two plates filled with it on the counter, two glasses of wine, and just plain water. I brought it all out on a tray and saw her sitting on the couch waiting for me.
"Your food, my dear," I told her placing the tray on a table she pulled up closer. She pointed at the box.
"Your movies, my love," she replied with a smile.
"Let's see what we have."
"I haven't bought a movie since 2008, and you didn't have any."
"Well, I'm sure I haven't see any of them so you pick."
"Ugh, you know I don't like picking things!"
"Well it's either you pick or I pick."
"How about this," she said and looked away from the box. She picked one up randomly and looked at it. "We will watch this."
"Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street? What is it about?"
"A barber who losses his wife and kills people because of it. It's a wonderful movie, and the music in it is wonderful. It's one of my favorites."
"Are the actor good?"
"Well, I know Johnny Depp and Helena Carter is in it. And that guy who played Snape in Harry Porter. I don't know all of their names. But the acting is amazing. Trust me, Patrick, it is a good movie."
"Alright, alright, I can't really say no to my baby, can I?"
"No you can't!"
She put the movie into the DVD player and took the plate in her hand. She took a bit and smiled at me.
"This is delouses!" she told me and I took a sip of the wine.
"I'm glad you like it," I said taking my own plate and started to eat. The movie came on, and I started to watch a part with blood going all over the city. Then it shows a young man on a ship singing, and then an older man singing also. It was an interesting start, and I would have to see where it would lead.
-----Two hours later-----
"Did you like it?" Missy asked me taking the disk out and putting it back into the case.
"You were right when you said the music was wonderful," I answered thinking back to all the movie. "What was that one song Todd sang while killing all those man you said was your second favorite?"
"Johanna?"
"Yes. What is your first?"
"Not While I'm Around."
"What is that song? I don't remember."
"The one Toby sang to Mrs. Lovett."
"Umm... What?"
She sighed and looked me in the eyes and saw my trick. She smiled at me, and than took me in her arms.
"You're not going to stop until I sang, are you?" she asked and I nodded. She sang the song with a beautiful tone, the words coming from her lips like she was speaking. The words filled the house with a new kind of warmth and the way she held me and sang was wonderful. I couldn't think of anything better than this.
"Missy," I told her looking into her light green eyes. "That was beautiful."
"It's true too," she replied looking me in the eyes has well. "No one is gonna harm you or do anything to you has long as I am around."
"The same goes to you. I love you Missy."
"I love you too Patrick. It's getting late, we should go to bed."
"Can I have a kiss good night?"
"Of course," she said kissing me and she walked upstairs. She was in it waiting for me when I got in. I changed quickly and laid down next to her.
"I hope you had a wonderful birthday," I told her and she smiled.
"The best one I ever had," she said falling asleep, me close behind.
Isn't that sweet? If you want to hear the song that I was talking about, Not While I'm Around, you should look it up. It is a beautiful song, has is any song from the movie. So go look it up, and then try to put a sweet girl singing it, and that is what Missy sounds like. Um... So what do you all think about the book so far? Is it a good sequel, or anywhere to the story I made in RS? I hope so. Peace out my Stars!
