1: Happy Birthday
"Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!" a little voice called to me in my sleep. The bed was shacking, and I opened my green eyes slowly. I looked up and saw three people on my bed. One was a little boy, one was a little girl, and one was a man who might as well been a kid. All three of them had a huge grin on their faces, and I looked at the man.
"Patrick, what are you all doing?" I asked him, and my husband shrugged.
"It's a surprise," he told me, and then he said something to the kids. Brayson and Alexis looked at him, and then they smiled.
"Happy birthday Mommy!" my son told me, and then a little flower was given to me by my daughter. Brayson gave me a small present, and Patrick moved to get a tray with food on it. I smiled at the jester, and Alexis hugged me.
"Happy biday Mommy," she told me not able to say 'r' or 'th' yet. She was only one, so I wasn't to strong on it yet. Brayson was three, and Patrick, while he was my age, and I don't really want to say it.
"Thank you sweetie," I replied kissing her head. Then I took Brayson in my hands and gave him a big hug and kissed his head. "Thank you little man."
"What about me?" Patrick pouted. The kids and I laughed and I kissed the top of his head also.
"Thank you Daddy."
"Open the present Mommy!" Brayson told me. I laughed and took the present in my hands again. It was a square, and it felt light. I opened the dark blue paper and found a dark blue box. I opened it and saw a ring that was a gold color. On it were three stones: an aquamarine, an emerald, and a topaz. They were my birthstones and the kids. On the right were the emerald, Brayson's birthstone, and on the left was the topaz, Alexis' birthstone. The aquamarine one was mine. I hugged my children and they took off to play.
"Where did you get the money to buy this?" I asked Patrick who was sitting one the bed next to me. He hugged me and kissed the top of my head.
"That is my little secret," he told me. I looked up into those blue eyes and played a little with his curly blond hair. He laughed and moved a piece of my black hair behind my ear. I didn't know if my green eyes had sleep in them or not, I just knew they were looking at him.
"Does this mean you won't tell me?"
"Yes. Let me worry about the money for the ring, you just enjoy your birthday. We all know you need to after everything that happened."
"Patrick, that was almost six years ago. I am fine."
"I know, but next month is the anniversary, and I just want you to forget about all of it."
"I know Patrick, I do too. I just can't, and I don't think I ever while."
"I just want you to forget about all of the things the Red Stars did to you."
He held me against his chest like he does when I'm upset. Him being taller than me and me being short allowed me to always hear his heart. I have grown used to that sound, and I love it. I don't know a more peaceful sound than Patrick Jane's heart.
"Missy," he said looking down at me.
"Yes?" I asked.
"I was thinking that we could take the kids to Louis' house for the night and just spend some time together. Just you and me. What do you think?"
"I think it is a wonderful idea. Let me call him and see if he will."
I got out of bed and walked down stairs to get the phone. I called my Uncle Louis and asked if he could watch the kids.
"Sure things Missy," he told me.
"Thanks Uncle Louis. How is Lisa? Haven't heard from her in a while."
"She is fine. Been real busy with work and such. How is Patrick?"
"He is good. Same old, same old."
"Good. I'll see you when you drop the kids off. Oh, and happy birthday Missy."
"Thanks Uncle Louis. Can I drop them off now? Patrick and I have to go to work in a few minutes."
"Sure thing baby girl. Whatever I can do."
"See you in a bit. Bye."
"Bye."
I put the phone down and went upstairs to find Patrick already dressed and looking at something in his hand. I walked behind him and show a picture of him with a woman. She had straight blond hair that had a lot of brown in it. Her eyes were a brown color and looked at him with love. Between the two 'lovers' was a little girl. The girl had curly blond hair and the same color eyes has the woman. I look at the way Patrick was looking at her, and it hurt. Who was she, and why was she with my husband? He sighed and placed the picture on the table. He turned and saw me looking at him.
"Missy," he gasped looking me in the eyes. "How long have you been standing there?"
"A few moments," I answered still looking at the picture. "Who is that?"
"My wife and daughter. My dead wife and daughter," he corrected when he looked at me again.
"Patrick, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Now you have to get ready for work. Don't want Lisbon chewing our heads off cause we were late." He threw some clothes at me and pushed me into the bathroom. I laughed and looked at the outfit and saw it did match, so I slipped it on. I put a little make up on, and I brushed my hair back. I looked ready and I went outside to find Louis putting the kids in the car. I kissed them good bye, then got in the car with Patrick to go to work.
I am so happy to get to do this one now! So if you are knew to Missy's story, get out and go read The Red Stars right now like a crazy person, cause you might not know what all is going on in this book without that one. So go, like now, before I sick my sick elf on you! Yes Sparkles is sick, I don't know with what, don't really care. So I have nothing to say that doesn't make you want to pick up the phone and get me to a crazy hospital. Haha, peace out my Stars!
