Two updates the same day in one book? W o A h-- 

~Sabre's POV~

"Sabre?!" someone shouts through the portal, and I immediately recognize the person's voice. "Rainbow Steve??" I call back, tears forming in my eyes. "Is that you Sabre?!" Galaxy Steve's voice says, and I nod, though he can't see it. "It's me..." I say softly, hugging Void Steve. Void Steve smiles at me, hugging me back. 

"How are you? Are you okay? Where's Void Steve?" Rainbow Steve keeps firing off some questions, and I chuckle softly. "I'm fine, don't worry. And yes, I'm with Void Steve, we've gotten really close not long before we got destroyed actually," I say casually, and I can just imagine Rainbow Steve and Galaxy Steve's eyes popping out of their sockets. 

"How are you even here? We thought you two got destroyed!" Rainbow Steve says, his voice cracking as if he's been crying. "We were, but being destroyed just takes us to the Void Dimension, without any powers. We ran into Elemental Steve too!" I explain, and I hear Rainbow Steve's voice hitch. 

"Really?" Galaxy Steve asks, as if this is just the time to catch up with one another. "Mhm," Elemental Steve says, and I can just imagine Galaxy Steve smiling. After all, Galaxy Steve did create Elemental Steve. "You all might want to hurry it up, the portal only lasts for so long," Midnight says, rolling her eyes. 

I nod, looking back at the purple, swirly portal. "Look, we're trying to get out of here, and we need you guys' help," I explain, and Rainbow Steve hums in response. 

"Anything for you Sabre," Galaxy Steve says, making me smile. "We got an idea, or, at least I do. Elemental Steve has a slight bit of his powers left, and the other two beings we're with have powers, so if you build a machine on that side, maybe we'll be able to get a connection to the normal world, and be able to come through one at a time," I explain. Seeing as I didn't tell anyone my idea yet, they all smile and nod, seeming to agree. 

"Do you think it'll work?" Rainbow Steve asks me, and I shrug, though he doesn't see it. "I mean, it wouldn't hurt to try, right?" I ask, and I hear approval from both Galaxy Steve and Rainbow Steve. "We'll give it a try!" Rainbow Steve says excitedly, making me smile weakly. 

"And Rainbow Steve?" I say softly, seeing the portal start to loose some color. 

"Yeah?" he asks, seeming a bit concerned. 

"If it doesn't work, can you promise me something?" I ask, feeling a tear weld up in the corner of my eye. Rainbow Steve clearly is worried, but he asks me what it is. 

"Promise me... if it doesn't work, you will remember me?" I say, and then the portal closes before he can even respond.
