❅ 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒏: 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 "𝑫𝒂𝒕𝒆"

TMI: Late update, red day.

"We're here." Jeno snaps out of his daydream, blinking furiously as he turns away from his window to see Jaemin already getting out of the car.

Unbuckling his seatbelt, he jumps on his seat when his door suddenly opened. Not expecting for the elder boy to already be there.

Most certainly not expecting Jaemin to open the door for him, instead just could've waited for his 'date' to come out and join him.

Shyly taking the extended hand, he looks around the scenery as he hears the sound of the car locking behind him.

"I hope you don't mind this is where I brought you to our first... Date." Jaemin hesitates a little to say, inwardly cringing at himself as so.

Jeno on the other hand, either didn't notice or didn't care. He only gazes around as the corners of his lips slowly curl up, forming a smile.

"It's similar to the place you and your family first brought us, should've brought you there but–"

"This is really pretty," Jeno's words cuts Jaemin off. The blond haired boy was still admiring the place whilst Jaemin raised a brow behind his back.

"Are you sure?" He asks, a little weirded out but tries to hold it in.

For the assignment. He tells himself over and over again since this morning, getting more determined thanks to the looks Mark keeps giving him as Yuta does nothing but teases.

Jeno looks over his shoulder to nod at him, "yeah... I like it." He smiles all while.

"It's a lake." The raven haired boy flatly says as a reminder to where the hell they are right now on a Saturday afternoon.

Jeno giggles at him, especially with the look Jaemin has on. The latter is staring at him as if he's on crack right now.

"A not so clean and visited lake, may I add."

"It's not that bad," Jeno huffs in reply. "Sure it isn't the best ones out there, but there's a reason people still come here isn't it?" Gesturing at a group of teenagers, around their age, hanging out nearby.

Jaemin follows where his hand was gesturing at and sighs, "if you say so, I'm just saying most people would think this date is already horrible."

"And why's that?" Jeno pokes him with a question, proceeding to lengthen their ongoing conversation with any topics they could think of.

This is better than what Yeeun said to Jeno last night.

No, deadass, Yeeun brought up the topic of his and Jaemin's first date together, just the two of them.

She kept saying Jaemin would probably be one of those jerks in school, flirting with Jeno at first and being all that. But in the end, later on in the relationship, they'll just hurt him.

Although it isn't exactly how Jaemin is, it's somewhere similar to what Yeeun had in mind.

She thinks Jaemin is being that cool kid or something, a little hard to get. Then he'll proceed to the description earlier when he earns Jeno's trust.

Call her being overprotective and too judgmental over someone, but she can't really help it.

As an elder sister of Jeno, she has the need of responsibility to make sure her little brother is okay; physically, mentally and emotionally.

And seeing Jaemin waltzing in as Jeno's future husband, she feels territorial.

She can't let Jaemin pass them easily, he has to work for it and prove to not only her, but to the whole family that he's a decent guy for Jeno.

She'd feel terrible if she doesn't do something about it.

Overprotective? Yes, Judgemental? So-so.

Something about Jaemin is a little off, or she's really overreacting now. Nonetheless, she has an eye on him and his parents.

Letting Jeno off with him makes her apprehensive, probably more than their parents are at this point. But then again, she's not against them either.

She knows their dad is just looking at the bright side like Jeno is, mostly well-known for being optimistic and open-minded.

Whilst she and her mom, are only going along with it and trying to see their point of view. Balancing them out whenever they can to protect each other in a way.

"It's not a very fancy place." Jaemin replies to his question.

"So? I don't mind." A silly smile etches on Jeno's face as he sits down on one of the benches close to the old fence surrounding the lake.

"Wouldn't you rather have a date at the mall? A carnival? Café even?" Mindlessly, Jaemin keeps answering Jeno's questions.

Their conversation keeps on going than both of them have expected for it to be.

Especially on a first ''date'', Jeno thought he'd be a nervous wreck, and Jaemin low-key thinks the same way.

However, even the blond haired boy is surprised with himself for not stuttering so much. Still shy, yes, but he's pretty decent today.

Jaemin sits beside him, and his trained eagle eyes doesn't miss the growing pinkish color on Jeno's cheeks, slowly turning to a shade of red due to the closeness.

"Malls on weekends are usually really crowded, carnivals too." Jeno points out, fiddling with his sleeves as he glances at some newcomers going down the pathway.

"Cafés are okay, I like them." Shrugging his shoulders in nonchalance with his lips pursed into a small smile.

The raven haired boy beside him hums, "shall I bring you to a café next time then?" He calmly asks whilst his fingers are fumbling with his watch around his wrist.

The younger boy widens his eyes for a moment, flustered by the question as he replies in a squeaky voice. "U-uhm, that's up to you, hyung."

"Why is it up to me? I'm the one taking you out somewhere, it should be a place you want." Jaemin says in such a calmly manner. Almost practiced.

"W-well... Err, it's a good place... Yeah." Jaemin chuckles at Jeno's behavior, going back to his nervous and stuttering mess.

Smiling, he gently places his hand on top of Jeno's, giving it a light squeeze when the younger boy almost jumps on his seat in surprise.

Leaning in to Jeno's ear, the red color growing even more with warmth as Jaemin whispers. "I'll take you to one soon, then."
