Gulf of Mexico, United States of America

"Everything all right today, Lieutenant?" Commander Rosie Jenkins asked as she walked past the first watch post on the USS Blackhawk.

Lieutenant James Harding nodded. "Yes, Commander. A fine day, today."

"Let’s hope it stays that way," Commander Jenkins agreed, striding past the watch post.

She checked with the next five watch posts, then arrived at the seventh to see a crude sight: Lieutenant Marie Sears was lying on the ground, clutching something at her stomach, gasping for breath.

"Lieutenant?" Commander Jenkins asked worriedly, dropping to her knees beside the fallen Navy officer.

The Lieutenant was mouthing something, and Commander Jenkins leaned closer, trying to hear. "Commander . . . behind . . . "

Commander Jenkins paled and tried to turn, but a gun jabbed into the side of her head, and she could barely process anything when there was a sharp BANG and she fell dead beside the Lieutenant.

The murderer stood over her, smiling grimly. "Sweet dreams, Commander."
