Magic

"Zhere has to be a pattern to zhis, something I can follow so I know who's next and can try to prevent it."

Anti woke up to see Schneep pacing the room, running his hands through his hair and his blue eyes bloodshot due to lack of sleep.

"Doc, what's going on?" Anti grunted, sitting up as the German looked at him with a wild look in his eyes.

"Chase is gone, JJ is gone, and Robbie is gone. I have to find a vay to get Jack to remember before anyone else fades." Schneep rambled to himself, sitting at his desk and resting his head in his hands.

"Schneep, I told you to sleep hours ago." Marvin sighed as he entered the room, the German tensing as he looked at his computer.

"I'll sleep vhen I'm fucking dead, right now I need to stop zhis nightmare before anyone else fades." Schneep shot back fiercely, Marvin wordlessly touching his wand to Schneep's head.

The German was knocked out instantly by his magic, Schneep's head drooping as his body relaxed in his chair.

"So, how're you feeling Anti?" Marvin prompted as he picked up Schneep, laying him on his bed before sitting on the end of Anti's cot.

"Fine I guess. Is he going to be okay?" Anti countered, glancing over at the unconscious German shifting in his sleep.

"He's driving himself insane by trying to find a way to reverse the damage caused by Jack's amnesia, and he's worried about fading like everyone else." Marvin explained grimly.

"I already think I know who's next anyway." Marvin admitted.

"Is it Jackaboy? That'd be nice if it was." Anti replied sourly, Marvin smiling faintly in response.

"No...I think I'm next. I mean, with Chase gone, it'd make sense." Marvin stated, biting his lower lip thoughtfully.

"How does that make sense exactly?" Anti countered with a confused frown.

"I mean, he's Jack caring side. If Jack doesn't care about anything, it means that he doesn't believe in there being any good in the world." Marvin reasoned.

"Oh...well then, what're you going to do with your last day of life?" Anti questioned, Marvin clasping his hands in his lap.

"Honestly, I don't know. Part of me wants to hang onto you guys and never let go, but there's also another part of me that just wants to be left alone with a bottle of alcohol." Marvin confessed.

"Well, what's something that's important to you?" Anti pressed, Marvin frowning thoughtfully.

"Entertaining people and being with people that are important to me." Marvin answered slowly.

"What are you waiting for them? Go out there, do what you want!" Anti urged Marvin, the magician standing up.

"You're right!" Marvin exclaimed, creating a portal before hesitating as Schneep groggily woke up.

"Vhat...vhat happened?" Schneep mumbled sleepily, rolling out of bed onto his feet as he rubbed his eyes while Marvin shot him an apologetic look.

"Go with Marvin, I don't want him alone if he..." Anti trailed off as Schneep nodded in understanding, appearing more alert as he followed Marvin through the portal.

Anti managed to get up out of the cot with a wince so he could return to his room, Jackaboy walking into the room as Anti limped towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Jackaboy prompted with an eyebrow raised as he watched Anti, the demon struggling to remain standing since he was still weak from blood loss.

"I'm just going back to my room, calm your tits." Anti hissed through gritted teeth, Jackaboy wordlessly sweeping Anti off of his feet.

"Hey, hands off!" Anti protested, weakly hitting Jackaboy's chest until he was drained of all energy.

Jackaboy laid Anti down in his own bed before the hero went into his room and sat on his bed feeling more alone than ever.

"Excuse me, do you know of any people here that like magic?" Marvin asked the receptionist with a grin as he used his magic to make an illusion of a cat waltzing across his shoulders with a silent meow.

"I know just the people that would lie to see you too. Danielle, or Danny as she prefers to be called, is down the hall on your right. There's also a girl named Grace that could use the company of a doctor." The receptionist told them.

"Finally, some people I can help!" Schneep cheered as he went to Grace's room, Marvin going to Danny's.

Marvin stepped into the room to see a teenage girl with long brown hair and hazel eyes sitting on her bed absent mindlessly fiddling with a cross necklace.

"Marvin the Magnificent, at your service." Marvin greeted her, bowing dramatically and earning a giggle from the girl as he straightened.

"A real magician...can you get me out of this town? I'll give you whatever you want." Danny offered.

"I can't do that, your parents would worry." Marvin replied apologetically, her expression falling.

"Oh...well, I want to be a boy, but my parents are extremely religious and don't accept anyone they don't consider 'normal', so I'm just stuck." Danny blurted.

"Tell me, what do you believe?" Marvin countered as he sat by Danny, her expression thoughtful.

"I believe that people should get to choose who they are and should do what the love." Danny stated.

"Well there's your solution! Now I know I shouldn't be telling you to ignore your parents, but if you strongly believe in being a boy and leaving town, then they won't stop you." Marvin assured her.

"Thanks Marvin, you really are magic." Danny grinned, Marvin standing up to leave before pausing and tossing Danny a card.

She caught it in her hand and looked at it, a moving image of Marvin waving his wand to spell the word "PMA" visible on the surface.

Danny looked up to thank Marvin only to find that he was gone, leaving her alone with the thoughts whirling through her head as she contemplated his words.

"Hello mein friend, I am-"

"Doctor Henrik Von Schneeplestien!" Grace interrupted the German, the girl with shaved black hair and sea green eyes hooked to an IV tube providing her with nutrients grinning happily.

"I see my vork preceded me zhen." Schneep chuckled, entering the room and sitting down in a chair next to Grace's bed.

"I watch all of Jack's videos with my family, you're what makes my life so much better." Grace admitted.

"I think eating vould make your life better too." Schneep remarked lightly, Grace's smile fading.

"Yeah...with my parents gone a lot, it's just me and my four younger siblings." Grace mumbled as she fidgeted with her IV tube.

"Vell, zhat doesn't mean zhat you should stop taking care of yourself too." Schneep argued.

"But-"

"I get it. Really, I do. But you have to remember zhat you're important too, even if you feel zhat others are more important zhan you." Schneep pointed out.

"You know, I have just zhe thing for you." Schneep added, abruptly leaving the room.

The German soon returned with a teddy bear wearing a doctor's lab coat and a box of candy with a note attached, handing both to her.

"I've heard zhat chocolate is zhe best medicine." Schneep winked as Grace hugged the bear while reading the note.

To my favorite patient Grace, stay strong and remember PMA. Yours truly, Doctor Henrik Von Schneeplestien.

Grace looked up from the note in time to see Schneep leave the room, the German's expression grim as he strode down the hall.

Schneep followed Marvin to Jack's room and watched as the magician sat by the Irishman, touching his wand to Jack's forehead and closing his eyes.

Marvin looked around the inside of Jack's mind to see it Jack running around in the darkness, trying desperately to hold onto the memories he had left.

"Jack!" Marvin called out, the Irishman looking over at Marvin with tears shining in his eyes.

"There's so much I'm forgetting...I don't remember my childhood, I don't remember the people I've helped through YouTube, and I lost all of my creativity. What's happening to me?" Jack whispered, Marvin's heart aching for him.

"You have amnesia, it's been making you forget parts of your personality. Jack, you have to try and remember." Marvin directed, Jack tearing frantically at his hair.

"I can't! I lose more memories every second, I can barely remember ever believing that I did anything good in the world!" Jack cried.

"Jack-"

Marvin broke off as he felt something slice his chest, the magician looking down to see that every injury he ever received from Anti was returning.

"MARVIN!"

"MARVIN!"

Marvin moved his wand away from Jack as Schneep shook him, the magician looking at his chest to see blood running down his shirt.

"Damn it!" Marvin cursed as he created a portal that brought him and Schneep home, not caring if anyone saw as he staggered and fell towards the floor.

Jackaboy entered the living room in time to see them return and catch Marvin, the magician's body covered in multiple cuts.

"Hey, stay with us Marv, we need you." Jackaboy pleaded as he laid Marvin down on the couch, Anti stumbling out into the living room.

"I-I'm sorry." Marvin choked out apologetically, sucking in a breath as a new cut appeared on his torso.

"What have I done to you?" Anti breathed in shock, Marvin looking at the demon.

"Sa-save...Jack..."

Marvin's chest fell with one last exhale as the magician finally closed his eyes, his body disappearing and leaving his cat mask on the couch.

Jackaboy wordlessly went into his room with Marvin's mask in hand, Schneep going into the kitchen to drink coffee while Anti returned to his own room.

Anti couldn't help but hope hat he was next to fade as he tried to fall asleep, Jackaboy's crying audible from his room.
