Chapter 7: Rescue of a Lifetime
Before reading this chapter, make sure you’ve seen the first half of season 3 to MHA. I’m heavily following the events of the Hideout Raid Arc (Episodes 8-12) And this chapter may feel heavily confusing and/or rushed if not having seen said episodes. Of course I’ve changed some events that happened within this 4 episode radius, but please keep my warning in mind.
Tension was at an all time high, it’s never reached these levels despite how many times Dabi and yourself had nearly killed each other in childish spats. All you could do is sit on the floor, hugging your brown jacket to your chest in a shaken fit of confusion. The seizure had ravished your body fatally, it wouldn’t stop shaking, there’s no strength in your arms and legs, not to forget that the last six months of memory had came back all at once like taking a bullet from a gun to the head. Seizures cause the brain to emit electrical pulses continuously, never once taking a break; it was quite literally the spark you needed to regain the lost memories. However, regaining memories of your heroic past while you’re in the stomach of the beast, aka, the League of Villains, made now the worst time to be a hero with escape and keeping a low profile next to the impossible.
Shigaraki tuts, scratching at the scarred pale flesh of his neck. He’s stressed, the last thing he needs right now is for you to be out of commission. “I need Katsuki tonight anyways,” Shigaraki signed behind the palm of the grey hand that hugged his face. It was true Shigaraki didn’t need you for the mission at hand tonight. Besides, since Bakugou’s enlistment into the League, he hasn’t gone on any missions at all.
“And who said I wanted to go on this mission?” Bakugou bared his teeth with a growl. He had no say in the mission.
Knock knock knock
Everyone went silent out of the blue. They’re all so unaccustomed to polite acts such as the knocking of a door nowadays when all they ever do is invite themselves within the bar since it was their hideout afterall. Each head within the bar had been turned and arched towards the main entrance of the bar. A tall brown oak door with black jingle bells that dangled from a bronze chipped doorknob. Even yourself and Bakugou followed their example. The two of you really couldn’t care who was on the other side, either way, escaping was a must.
“Pizza Delivery!” Called a grown man on the outer side of the door. His voice was muffled, evident that there was an falseness behind his tone.
“Delivery?” Bakugou muttered with furrowed brows. As if anyone in this rathole would order a pizza if their hideout is so damn secret nobody has found it yet.
However you perked up and snatched Bakugou’s pant leg in order to grab his attention. You recognized that voice from anywhere, and so should he. “Dad…” You whispered in such a ghostly breath.
Bakugou saw the glittering excitement in those blue eyes of yours as they connected with his crimson, the excitement he’s long missed. “I don’t think it’s Aizawa,” Bakugou struggled to keep his voice low.
“I meant AM,” you corrected him with a snicker.
“I’ve never heard you refer to AM as dad,” the blonde smirked. “Can’t believe we’re using Shitty Hair’s code words either,” it was the first day after Kirishima had learned of your heredity that he came up with a code word for All Might, AM. It was to keep your origins a secret and safe to prevent situations such as this with villains surrounding and watching your every move. Who knew the code word would come in handy now?
“We can get out of here!” You smiled brightly.
“Just what are you two whisperin’ about?” Toga poked her head into the conversation like the nosy girl she was.
“Forget them,” Shigaraki hissed. “Who’s at the damn door?”
“I was waiting for you to let me get it!” Toga jumped at the offer with a skip of her feet and a knife at hand. “I claim whoever’s on the other side!” She sang happily with a crackling voice. Her hand clutched the doorknob, only for the entire wall to break away upon contact. Bricks were flying! Toga was thrown too from one side of the hideout to the other, not like anybody jumped to help her. The rest of the villains ducked to avoid the explosion while Bakugou and yourself were just out of reach for the explosion.
“Do not worry…” Spoke the man you’ve been waiting for. The debris from the explosion began to settle revealing the big burly man with long golden hair to be crouched down upon the ground, a tanned fist hugging his shoulder. “For I am here!” All Might stood up straight flashing off that radiant iconic smile of his all the while pulling back his fist for another attack.
“How the hell did he find us?” Shigaraki trembled in his own anger, unable to move.
“I have no damn clue but we’re out of here!” Bakugou lent his hand to you before anything else. “Take my hand or else I’m leaving you,” and yet Bakugou wouldn’t quit smiling.
“I know you wouldn’t,” you were quick to take Bakugou by the hand. “Why else did you put up with my villain alter-ego for so long? Even I was beginning to think I was never gonna come back.”
“You assholes sold us out?” Dabi glared at the two of you. He overheard everything, although none of you sold anyone out. His scarred hands flared up in blue flames as he struck at the two of you. You gasped, the two of you can’t avoid the attack! That was your assumption until Dabi’s eyes of blue rolled into the back of his head and fell limp upon the wooden floor into unconsciousness. Next thing you knew, everyone left and right began to fall like flies to an electric trap until few remained. A black portal opened up exactly where Bakugou and yourself stood all for the two of you to fall through into darkness. Light emerged from the other side as the two of you emerged in a field of debris to the sky that came the bringing of destruction and despair. Villain after villain flooded out of the black portal too, help other unconscious villains to safety. This meant this was all a big last minute escape attempt and now Bakugou’s big mouth had gotten the both of you screwed…
“Bakugou, (Y/n)!” All Might cried out as the portal shrank out of existence before he could follow through. His chest grew heavy, body succumbing to anger and regret. All Might nearly fell to his knees, staring at his barren hands. “I… I let them fall through my fingers again…”
“Shape up Toshinori!” Endeavor emerged from the gaping hole in the wall with his arms crossed over his burly chest. “As much as I hate you, you’re the symbol of peace. ACT LIKE IT! I’ve let (Y/n) fall through my fingers too but you don’t see me losing my composure in front of everyone do ya?”
“I let two people in need get taken again-”
“Calm down,” Shinsou stepped in through the hole in the wall as well. Best Jeanist walked in closely behind him with a hand lied upon the younger male’s shoulder. “This student was sulking around outside but he can help in many ways we cannot,” Jeanist shamed Shinsou yet he also praised him. A weird combination it was.
“Yeah well jokes on me for getting caught but I was spying on the villains. Been spying for the better part of two weeks,” Shinsou was proud of this accomplishment. Every word he said was fact through and through. Maybe hiding behind a trashcan wasn’t the wisest decision he’s ever made. For someone who isn’t in the hero course, he sure stands high like he’s been in there all along. “A few students at UA have a tracker on your students of interest, Katsuki Bakugou and (Y/n) Yagi,” All Might and Endeavor’s serious stature faltered with this leak of information. “I’ve been tracking (Y/n)’s cell to this address for a while, and you should thank the students of class 1. A. for giving everyone at that summer camp trackers which led me to believe Katsuki is here as well. I would’ve told you Pros sooner but I was taking advantage of the classified information I received on the League of Villains thanks to the trackers that breaks through their communications,” Shinsou offered up his cell phone to the symbol of peace. On the screen blinks a red dot on an electronic map not so far off from where they stood. “Just follow the coordinates and you’ll find the missing students.”
“Most impressive,” All Might awed.
“How did you all know to attack the League today?” Shinsou nearly growled. His plan to rescue Bakugou and yourself is now a plan better suited for the toilet…
“We’ve been blindly tracing back all of the information you’ve provided,” Jeanist assured.
“While I was tracking Katsuki you all tracked me as well…” Shinsou hissed dragging a hand down his face.
“It’s still impressive!” All Might hooted with confidence leaking from his pores. “Without you we wouldn’t have found the hideout at all. Tell me boy what made you put your security on the line for these teenagers?” It couldn’t have been for the sake of information, plus how did Shinsou get the access to Bakugou’s tracking device? Clearly he’s been working behind the scenes for much longer than they all had assumed.
“I’m not very close to Katsuki, fact I’m sure he despises me,” Shinsou sighed. “However, (Y/n) is my friend and since I’m not a student in the hero course I want to help in some way!” Shinsou has long known that you’d gotten kidnapped, he learned of this through his mentor Aizawa and then Midoriya asked for him to get involved in the investigation. EIther way, It’s about time Shinsou repaid his debt to a friend since you saved him in his youth.
“Thanks to you we may be able to squash the League of Villains all together. I respect you!” All Might gave Shinsou a heart warming thumbs up.
“My honor,” Shinsou smirked. “But… Before you go, there’s something you need to know. It’s information I dug up today-”
“It can wait!” All Might had cut Shinsou down. “I have two young teens who’s waiting for me to rescue them!”
“N-No!!! You need to listen to me-” All Might ran away within the blink of an eye.
-----
“We need to get out of here,” Bakugou hissed, Toga and Shigaraki were closing in on the two of you.
“I’m still shaken from the seizure…” You whimpered. “My legs… I can barely move them,” the limbs wobbled and shaked as you clutched onto Bakugou’s muscular arms all to stand upon two feet. “Look Bakugou… I can act as if I’m still Ark and escape later on. You need to leave while you still can-”
Bakugou pried you from his body all to have your wrist in a death grip just barely standing on two feet. “I’ve told you more times than I can count that you’re coming home with me whether you fucking like it or not! I didn’t put up with your bullshit over the last two weeks just to leave empty handed,” Bakugou threw you behind him upon finishing your scolding with his ear shattering shout. You hissed upon contact with the ground of cement and jagged metals as Bakugou directed an explosion at Mr. Handyman himself who attempted to touch the boy with his cold bare hands. Another expected explosion was directed at Toga; you’ve never had problems with her, rather she gets annoying too easily. Toga dodged with ease with nothing but a spin on her toes, a hand in her skirt pocket, and a carnivorous drag of her tongue over her lips that took advantage of an opening to sheath a steel wide needle syringe into Bakugou’s forearm with a devious maniacal laugh.
“Why you lil’ bitch-” Bakugou grunted, ripping the syringe out with haste. His arm began to pulsate where he had been stabbed. Somehow, in such little time, the syringe had filled itself with Bakugou’s crimson fluids.
The weapon sparked worry within your chest. “Don’t let her get that syringe!” You warned upon sitting up from the ground.
“As if I was gonna let her,” Bakugou threw the syringe at you in return, not bothering to question why it was of any importance. “Take care of that while I take care of them would ya?”
“Leave them alone and just go!” You snapped, throwing the syringe over your shoulder into the distance. “How many times must I tell you I can escape on my own!? Yeah I’m too reliant on you Bakugou but it’ll be just like the Sports Festival, I’m my own person!”
“I suggest you shut your fucking mouth!” Bakugou blindly retaliates all the while attacking the villains some more. “You do realize I’m trying to save us both right? You can’t even walk! Don’t throw your independent bullshit at me!!! It always next to kills you while I take the hardest blow out of it all!” The Hero and Villain exercise, Villain Zack, Sport’s Festival and much more on top of it. Just like Aizawa, whatever you do somehow Bakugou always gets roped in.
“I’m capable whether I can walk or not…” You glared at the blonde. You finally took in the surroundings with little options coming into view. This was a construction site. Metal pipes and girders were all over the place, this was YOUR battleground. The corner of your mouth began to pull and tug upwards into this most sinister smirk. Let the villains hurt. You raised your right hand, the pipes began to contort to the desired shape you imagined before you commanded it to jut out at the villains nearly crushing half of them as the large pipe acted as a barrier between Bakugou and the the villains.
Bakugou’s voice was caught in his throat, a lump that nearly choked him out as he turned to you. “I’m... I’m starting to like this new quirk of yours,” he smirked. “You’re so much more badass now.”
“Told you I’m capable,” you sang. “And… Keep in mind that entire month we were separated all I ever did was train myself to use these new quirks and then kidnapped your weak ass.”
Bakugou frowned, furrowing his brows in distaste to your heavily one sided laughter. “I was trying to get through to you. Clearly it didn’t work cause it took me two damn weeks!!!” Bakugou threw everything at you all at once, just to turn around and throw everything behind himself and began a breakneck sprint. “Let’s go-”
Everything shook violently alongside a deep chested battle cry of courage. “SMAAAAAAASH!!!” Shouted someone from the top of their lungs. Their voice was male and it sounded as if his heart was being crumbled up to dust by the second in a grotesquely tortured way. Second by second, the ground broke away into a fissure upon the earth swallowing everything whole. There were gusts of violent winds that threw everything in its wake. You used your quirk to anchor yourself to the ground, Bakugou struggled to keep his placement and fell victim to the winds of destruction being swept away as if he weighed nothing.
“Bakugou!” Just as the boy were to pass to by, you unlatched one hand from the ground to swiftly catch the boy by the wrist. Your silver goop of a hand mended itself to his body creating this semi-permanent bond of metal to skin like a mutation. There was no way he’s leaving your side anytime soon.
“The bitch who can’t even walk just saved my god damn ass again…” Bakugou grumbled under his breath as he refused to look at you.
“Quit sulking ya dumbass,” you tut. You had to shout above the vicious whip and whistle of the razor winds. “We’re gonna die out here! That yell we heard was All Might, he’s creating all this destruction!” Bakugou’s head shot up at your claim. “I think he’s fighting father…”
“Father? Who the fuck is that!?” Bakugou hissed.
“He’s the guy who took away and gave me the new quirks,” you began to tear up just talking about him. So many memories that you never wanted to come back. “He told me to call him father just like Shigaraki does. I never got a real name out of him besides ‘Boss’ and ‘Big Man.’ He’s scary dangerous Bakugou, I remember him asking me non-stop about All Might and myself until he let me choose from any of his quirks to make my own and that’s when I became Ark,” suddenly realization hit you with the blockade of air within your lungs. “Oh god… I think he’s that big bad guy that gave Toshi his horrible injury…”
Besides mother’s death, the appearance of your father’s grotesque injury that occupied the entire left side of his ribcage sparked a sudden depression within him. That’s really when Toshinori began handing you over to Aizawa. Back then, you only thought of Aizawa as your babysitter but after years and years of his custody you began to think differently. Everytime you’d ask Aizawa why Toshinori was never around-Aizawa couldn’t bring himself to lie to you-he claimed that Toshinori was always visiting the doctors and being the great symbol of peace everyone expects him to be.
Not to forget the prediction his former sidekick with the future sight quirk gave him so many years back…
“Get your head out of your ass (Y/n)!” Bakugou used his free hand to slap you across the face. You had lost yourself for a brief moment in the darkness your heart gave away. He didn’t want to see you cry over something completely out of your control. “Whoever this asshole is is clearly the head of this League of Freaks. Quit living in the damn past!”
“I’m not on the best terms with All Might right now but he’s gonna die!” Pain attacked your chest. “Bakugou… This could’ve been avoided if I wouldn’t have kidnapped you. I’m sure he’s stomped into the place assuming he was gonna save you but look at us now! Stuck in the middle of the fight while he’s on the shorter end!!” Bakugou had no damn clue as to what you meant until he had caught glimpse of two figures fighting head to head in a bloody rampage a few stories above the two of them within the sky. All for One, the man dressed in a sleek black suit with this malformed oversized pale arm coated in everything from flesh to steel and cement spikes, went unscathed besides his life support mask being destroyed beyond repair. All Might on the other hand was bloody from head to toe, costume torn and far beyond repair, electric blue eyes illuminating the night sky.
Sudden dread washed over Bakugou all due to a million reasons wrapped up into one grave situation.
“You’re withering away Toshinori!” All for One spoke all so calmly towards his biggest rival. “You can’t move as fast as you could, can’t pack a punch, what… Am I too strong for you? Oh how the tables have turned.”
“You haven’t seen anything yet,” All Might smirked, wiping up the blood that had escaped one corner of his mouth into the back of his fist. However, it pained him to lie as All Might knew for a fact he couldn’t go all out in this situation, not now at least. He always kept one fierce eye down below himself on the two kids who couldn’t escape the battlefield even if escape was blaring before their eyes like an electric neon sign. If All Might began to unleash his most ultimate attacks, he’ll kill Bakugou and his daughter in the meantime…
“I will rid this world of their beloved Symbol of Peace… You know this Toshinori,” All for One just had to point out. “I’ll end it all with this attack alone…” All for One held out his disfigured arm, a milky white liquid seeped from the palm of it’s hand all to inflate little by little into a large white bubble that gave off this ominous red glow.
All Might’s eyes widened in realization of whom this quirk belonged to. “(Y-Y/n)...” He choked on his own words. All Might’s heart had stopped all together.
“Why yes this quirk did belong to a girl Tomura had brought me,” All for One hummed. All Might coughed up a mouthful of blood after holding it back for so long. He began shaking... “Covered head to toe in burns, half deaf, She was already half dead when we met all because you neglected to protect her on the night of the big Hosu Attack Toshinori. Yes, I’m aware that she’s your secret child Toshinori. I gave her all the medical attention I could give and she’s accepted me as her new father just like Tomura Shigaraki… Nana Shimura’s Grandson.”
All Might couldn’t form any words, his world was crumbling down upon him. But alas, his anger overpowered his shock. “You bastard…” Was the first words All Might could speak, deteriorating into his weakened true form revealing his true self to the world as news broadcasters recorded this event second by second from safer locations and whirling helicopters. “I’m aware that I’ve failed as a father… But you turned my mentor’s grandson against me… And now you have the nerve to touch my daughter with those filthy hands of yours? You stole her quirk, that’s like stealing someone’s identity!!!” The river of emotions flooded out of him.
“She seems pretty happy with the new quirks she picked out all on her own. (Y/n) chose to join my forces all on her own too which was odd since all I wanted was her quirk. Perhaps being the successor to poor Zack worked in my favor. Now... I shall use her resentment towards you to end your life here and now!” All for One released his hold on the bubble, a large explosion shook the atmosphere to the popping of its surface…
“Toshi!!!” You cried towards the heavens as the blonde man flew across the sky to land upon the ground so far off.
“Now’s our time to leave,” Bakugou desperately tugged at your. You’ve completely forgotten that he was quite literally stuck to you.
“Hope you don’t mind,” your entire body melted down to shimmering silver that inched up Bakugou’s arm little by little.
“What the fuck the are you doing?” Bakugou’s body squirmed with discomfort to your oddly warm and gelatinous self coating his entire right arm. Might he even say this is the weirdest thing that has not only happened to himself but it also the weirdest thing he’s ever felt as well. It wasn’t cold nor warm, wasn’t solid but not quite liquid either, there was no grit, just smooth imperfection.
“If I can’t run let alone walk, I latched onto you like a flea to a dog…” You voice came out as distant and disembodied like water was in your lungs.
“Well,” Bakugou shuddered. Just bending his arm with you acting as a semi-liquid sleeve felt ungodly strange. “It’s not the weirdest thing that’s happened to me. When the pervert got stuck to me, now that was the weirdest.”
“You remember that!?” The day Bakugou speaks of is the day Kirishima, Kaminari and Sero ganged up on Bakugou and quite literally got Mineta stuck to him. Imagine having a midget ‘super’ taped to you back as well as his sticky balls all over the place. Having a talking sleeve/girlfriend is nothing compared to having Mineta stuck to his back.
“Now isn’t the time to remember this, we need to leave so All Might can kick some serious ass,” Bakugou began to run away. Right now was perfect since the two big bad boys weren’t fighting each other like crazy like they were not even a moment ago meaning escape was finally in reach!
“Toshi stood up. They’re about to go at it again,” you warned Bakugou. While All for One was standing idly on the ground all so far away, Toshinori had finally risen from his life ending blow just barely able to stand with his hero costume nearly engulfing him to look more like a robe.
“I just barely got anywhere,” Bakugou growled, picking up his pace.
“BAKUGOU!!!” Bakugou stopped dead in his tracks to the desperate call of his name that echoed for miles.
“Who the hell?” Bakugou frantically shot his head in all directions.
“Look up!” You gasped.
“Huh?” Three individuals flew like a shooting star in the gloomy night sky. Three males, one with slick back jet black hair and nitrous firing from his calves, Tenya Iida. The next male had bushy green hair and emerald eyes, his entire body was engulfed in static green electricity, Izuku Midoriya. The last male, the one of whom was sandwiched between Iida and Midoriya had red hair and white antlers with one arm held out to his side as if he expected one hand to meet his own. Eijiro Kirishima.
“BAKUGOU COME ON!!! IT’S NOT MUCH BUT WE’RE HERE TO SAVE YOU!!!” Kirishima cried out to his friend from above.
Despite your lack of a face, your sight remained the same. Bakugou had the biggest smirk on his face. “About time,” Bakugou clapped his hands together before holding them behind himself. One explosion, two explosion Bakugou propelled himself through the air with haste all in order to reunite with his friends and taste the freedom of escape. With some help, your melted self jumped from Bakugou’s arm to Kirishima’s, connecting the two boys hands for an unbreakable bond.
“Wha-What?” Kirishima couldn’t move his fingers within the silver substance.
“Shut up Shitty Hair,” Bakugou snickered.
“F-Fine,” Kirishima pushed his thought to the back of his head. “Where’s (Y/n)? Is she safe or…” The boy frowned, he was pushing past his comfort zone on the subject. “Or is she still a villain?”
“Did you even have any intent on saving me?” Bakugou’s eyes flashed a hint of anger.
“We intended on saving the both of you!” Iida broke the awkwardness in which Kirishima and MIdoriya couldn’t be more thankful.
“Congrats then,” Bakugou grumbled. “When are we gonna fuckin’ land!?” Flying is fun and all, but Bakugou is dangling, connected to an idiot, while that idiot is connected to two nerds that are keeping them all afloat.
“Patience Bakugou,” Iida suggested.
“Nobody tells me to be patient!” The blonde cursed knowing he couldn’t touch Iida in this position.
“Be happy that we were even saved…” You looked on the brighter side of things.
“What!?” Everyone minus Bakugou asked in unison. “Wh-Who said that?” Midoriya’s jaw shook.
“Wait till we land,” Bakugou said. Excitement to be in the safe was overloading his mindspace. The sooner they land, the sooner Bakugou can reunite with the REAL you, the girl who finally has her memories back. Talking to Ark, the you that could’ve been if Bakugou would’ve never stepped into your life at all, felt uncomfortable. If Bakugou never bullied you on that first week of school, you’d undoubtedly become a villain. To Bakugou, it felt as if he was restarting all over with you like on that first week of school. Everything kept coming back to that first week. You were mentally F-ed up in the head, unconfident, overridden with anxiety, depressed. You were an emotional rollercoaster. Now you’re a girl with overbearing confidence, courage, and now you’re one of the most sweetest and outgoing girls the class of 1. A. has ever met.
The sooner they land, the sooner Bakugou can embrace what was missing from his heart. Who knew one girl can make such a difference?
“ALL MIGHT!!!” Cried Midoriya out of the blue. Just as the boys landed, a large jumbo tv that projected the escalating fight between All for One and All Might revealed that All Might was doubled over, spent, one of his arms nearly obliterated. Forget the fact that Bakugou and yourself were rescued. All Might will die trying to protect everything he loves.
Hope you all liked this long ass chapter. 4791 words exactly not include pre and after chapter notes.
