Chapter 15: Icy-Hot & Red Riot Unbreakable

Okay, so there will be two more chapters left in this book after this one. I had to break up the Battle Royal into two updates instead of just one since it got really long. This chapter is 4,422 words in total.

As much as everyone's been anticipating the day of the Grand Class 1. A. Battle Royale, the very thought of it was unnerving in itself. Then again, you don't have much room to speak yourself. You've been having cold feet when it came down to fights lately and could anyone blame you? When you brawl with someone, you expect it to be a life or death situation therefore there's no reason to hold back. Now you're fighting classmates, you need to hold back or else you risk their very existence. The only upside to this whole thing is that Hawks had taught you how to use your new deadly weapon in non-leathal ways.

"Todoroki and (Y/n)," All Might waved up to the two of you on the bleachers. "You two are up first!"

"Up first... Wow," you stood from the step of the bleacher. "Looks like I'm up first guys! I'm gonna own him."

"Confidence is key," Kirishima playfully punched you in the shoulder.

"See ya in the final," Bakugou waved you off. You grinned, hopping from step to step of the bleachers till you got to the bottom. Shoto was right behind you, being he wasnt in any hurry, whereas you both walked side by side to the middle of the battlefield. While All Might manned the commentary and scoreboard, Aizawa and Cementoss were the referees.

"One to the left and one to the right," Aizawa instructed the two of you. You remained to the male's right, Shoto moved over to the left for two distinct sides. "Now, rules are simple and much like the Sports Festival. Fight until one person can't continue or forfeits. Apprehending your opponent can result in a win only if your rival cannot escape in any sort of way within thirty seconds. There are no boundaries either and I may call the fight at any time that I feel there's a clear winner or lives are at stake. Do not try to kill each other but that goes without saying," Aizawa had to pause himself after that large mouthful of words then motioned a hand to Cementoss. "You may adjust the playing field to your advantage if need be, just ask Cementoss. Do either of you have any adjustments you'd like to make?" Shoto looked to you for answers.

"I have one of two requests actually," you spoke up. "I'd like to raise the field a few feet or add in some pillars. Or we can do nothing, I'm leaving the decision to you Shoto."

"I understand the pillars, but why raise the field?" Shoto questioned your tactics.

"If I told you It'd be cheating," you refrained from leaking information. "But um... I want access to the cieling if you seriously must know," a hint towards your possible fighting tactics. Either field decision Shoto agrees to, you're at an advantage but if Shoto decides to keep everything level then it's not much of a setback at all. You'll still fight with or without the advantage and win. But... Okay, you're getting a little too cocky now.

Shoto sighed suddenly, "I'll let you have the advantage."

"R-really? Shoto really you don't have to-"

"I want to fight you at your all... And I'll give you mine," Shoto stared down at his left hand. There was a subtle pain laced in his multi-colored eyes that you c pi uld just barely trace.

You reached out, holding his warm hand gently. "May I ask what's bothering you Shoto?"

"I've only ever gave my all when I fought Midoriya... No one else," Shoto's eyes locked with your own with this fierce confidence. "I should've done the same for Bakugou but blew it... I won't hold back again."

"Then I wish you luck," you flashed Shoto your gentle smile that'd soothe even the most stressed of beings.

Shoto's hand finally grasped yours back, demonstrating that he was ready for quite possibly his strongest opponent yet. "Raise the field a few feet," you opponent demanded from Cementoss. The rectangular man of grey had himself knelt down and pressed the tips of his block fingers to the ground whereas the entire floor had elevated a good five feet into the air. You made sure to count and locate each metal support rod that lined the ceiling; they were roughly three feet apart and stretched the entire expanse of the cieling from one wall to it's parallel.

"Too many rods... I'm gonna have a hard time... " You murmured.

"Ready?" Aizawa broke you out of your thoughts.

"Um... Yeah," your thumb hovered over the button on your knuckles. Shoto traced that minor movement, in fact, he hasn't been able to draw his eyes from the new contraption on your arms. Now he's full aware of how you'll attack right out of the gate.

"Then wait for All Might to call the match. I'm not getting caught up in any of this..." Aizawa spun around and walked off. Yeah, he's about done with this class and pain in general. Cementoss made sure to excuse himself from the equation as well.

All Might had awaited his coworkers to leave the battle grounds before speaking up into the microphone, "Fight on!" The blonde cried out.

Sheer thrill ran into you like an adrenaline shot, you hopped back and pointed your fist at Shoto. The boy had stomped on the floor before you'd taken your aim and it captured your entire right side in the blue crystalline ice. Frozen, fear attacked your chest! You pulled and yanked at your limbs to free them but couldn't pull through. Shoto ran out at you, jumping within the air where a ring of fire cloaked his entire body. You aim your free fist into the air and pulled the trigger. The arrow shot from it's dock within your brace. Shoto choked on air, the arrow was coming right for him! However it was even more of a shock when the sliver of silver whished right past the side of his head, ricochet off the ceiling, and came right back down. The wire connecting the arrow to you was caught on a ceiling rod but continued it's journey.

Shoto resumed his attack, preparing a fireball of destruction to be unleashed atop your icy prison. The arrow whipped right past him for a second time, bouncing off the cemented ground and back into the air. You pressed the recall button on your brace, and the coil snatched up Shoto trapping his entire body as he went flying into the air! His body rammed into the ceiling support beam and was stuck. Another button held down, the coil was engulfed in flames, injuring Shoto greatly once the flames reached his coiled cocoon.

As guilty as you felt, you figured Shoto could endure the flames a little since his quirk was also fire, and liquified your trapped half for freedom to rematerialize whole again. You recalled the coil again from the master button, of course Shoto was stuck as expected and you decided to recall it manually by jumping within the air and letting it pull you to him. Zipping through the air you kicked Shoto free and used another shot of the coil to pull the both of you to a safer location. Upon landing, Shoto tumbled, covering the ground in nothing but ice to trap your feet. Another liquification of your body and you were free, Shoto meant to kneel you in the chest but you were there! You instead embraced his waist and threw him into a backwards bodyslam rendering him stunned and struggling to even lift himself off the ground on his hands and knees.

The entire battlefield was lowered and Aizawa came running onto it, separating the two of you. "I'm calling it... You win (Y/n)," your Father found difficulty crowning you the winner. "(Y/n)... That was extraordinary fighting but that move can permanently disable someone."

"Oh no... Shoto!" You ran to his side.

"I'm fine..." Shoto grunted. "If anything I'll be sore... Thanks for the fight."

"Same," you managed to smile and helped Shoto to his feet. He definitely need the your assistance traversing to his seat on the bleachers and you were happy to help. He was so appreciative of the fight even though he'd lost... And that's all that matters.

Upon returning to your place on the bleachers, your friends were drowning you in praise since they've never seen a fight with Shoto be ended as soon as you've managed to do it. They also wanted nothing to do with you now, hoping that they'll avoid fighting you at all, but that's highly unlikely.

Bakugou leaned into your side, "I've never wanted to fight you more than I have now. Even i couldn't beat Shoto down as easily as you," even though that was a cry to war, you took it as Bakugou's utmost respect which was the biggest most meaningful thing you could ever recieve.

"How sweet," you hummed before shoving him away. "But don't get too comfy. You and Sero are up next."

"I'll be done with him before you know it," Bakugou picked up Sero by his collar and dragged him off. Bakugou wasn't wrong though! Sero wanted to forfeit the match since even before it had began and only stuck around just to, how should I say it? Keep Bakugou on his good side. Bakugou hates those who give in and or don't give their all. Sero tried to land a few punches, missed them all, and Bakugou had body slammed him with the words "give in now. I want a real challenge," thus giving Sero the permission to forfeit if his heart desired. The rest was history.

Bakugou and Sero returned to their seats in the bleachers and much like Shoto, Sero was a groaning sore mess. The rest of the class had their matches to look forward to until the next round of those who've moved on.

Next fight was Midoriya and Iida. Surprisingly, they were closely matched. Those two were lightning fast and had almost identical fighting styles. Midoriya came out as the victor though after Iida used his ultimate move. His engines stalled just long enough for Midoriya to pin him down for the required 30 seconds for a win.

Afterwards came Kirishima and Sato's fight in which once again they were pretty evenly matched. The deciding factor, much like Midoriya and Iida's match, was when Sato's sugar rush became a sugar crash and was unable to pull forward. It got you wondering, what if Sato were a diabetic? That'd make his 'sugar for strength' quirk life threatening!

Kaminari's turn was next. He fought against a girl of all people and she was the class's glitter girl Uraraka. These two had nothing in common. Absolutely nothing. The match was decided quickly too. Uraraka decided to float above the arena after destroying cemented pillars and used them like meteor showers upon Kaminari. What Uraraka didn't know was that Kaminari had shot one of his electric rerouting discs into one of the chunks of cement that she kept afloat and she'd gotten herself shocked just enough to be shaken up and call it quits. Luckily, Kaminari's learned how to lower the voltage he can give off in attacks learning his lesson after nearly electrocuting you in the festival.

The rest of the matches didn't really catch your interest as much as they were people you couldn't care less about and were boring as hell. The next round of matches were decided very soon thanks to All might, Aizawa and Cementoss' deliberation.

(Y/n) vs. Kirishima

Bakugou vs. Aoyama

Kaminari vs. Midoriya

Tokoyami vs. Momo

Those who were the least injured were told to fight first which so happened to be Tokoyami and Momo then Bakugou and Aoyama.

Tokoyami practically owned Momo, not to make that sound wrong in the slightest. No matter what weapons Momo could conjure up with her quirk: a mace, spear, cannon etc, Dark Shadow wasn't injured by any of them and judging by the fact that Tokoyami himself wasn't getting involved in the fight meant Momo wasn't much of an opponent and he pinned her down after letting the ravenette get her steam out for a win.

Bakugou and Aoyama's match was... Interesting. You had the King Explosion Murder vs. Sparkle Sparkle Fun time! As fun as that sounds, nothing lasted long. Aoyama was terrified of Bakugou. No surprise, and gave in fearing he'd become lunch. Aoyama quite literally crawled away on his hands and knees, pissing himself, begging to forfeit the match. Made you wonder how he made it to round two, then again, he was up against Hagakure. There was NOTHING to fear.

"The match I've been waiting for..." You stood up from your seat. It was time to face Kirishima after never having fought before. How come of everyone you've fought already, Kirishima wasn't one of them? Oh right, cause nobody can hate on Kirishima! He's the most innocent manly guy around.

"I've been looking forward to this fight too (Y/n)!" Kirishima held out his hand and you took it. He pulled you into his body for one of them one armed man hugs and you couldn't feel more special. "I've been holding out on showing off my Ultimate Move for THIS reason. Better be ready!"

"Why hold out for me? I'm not that special," in fact Kirishima shouldn't have said anything. Bakugou's jealousy is flaring up and he's sneaking up behind the boy in red.

You wanted to warn Kirishima about Bakugou, but there's no sense in it now. "Cause my move wears me out quickly and I made it in case I fought Tetsu again! You two are pretty close quirk wise. So why not?" Kirishima hopped down a few steps, dodging Bakugou's wrath, for now, and motioned for you to follow.

"I want a real damn challenge..." Bakugou grumbled as he watched the two of you leave.

"You get a free ride so hush up," Kaminari argued back.

"You're practically guaranteed to fight the strongest guy in class at this rate," Sero pointed out despite losing in round one.

"Is he that guy who can turn his entire body into metal?" You followed his lead.

"That's him!" Kirishima agreed. "You two are pretty similar right?"

"In a sense yeah," you shrugged. "I can do a whole lot more than just turn my body into metal."

"I know," Kirishima gave you a hand upon reaching the last step.

"Thanks! Now wanna lie down a rule or two?"

"Keep talking."

"All brawn and no weapons."

"If you're okay with handicapping yourself," Kirishima wasn't even going to lie down a single rule. Looks like you want this fight to be as fair as possible and if that's what you want then lie down as many rules as you desire!

"Then I won't need these," your braces were slipped off and handed to Aizawa as you approached the center field. He took them off your hands without complaint and wedged them beneath his arms.

"Again, I want a clean fight..." The man groaned. "No really... Please keep the fight clean," as he spoke, a janitor was wheeling his mop bucket off the cemented pad after cleaning up Aoyama's accident.

You shook your head, "Bakugou's one scary dude..."

"You're dating him," Kirishima joked around.

"And you're his best friend."

"Point made!"

"Any field adjustments?" Cementoss rubbed his hands together.

"We're good!" Kirishima flashed his signature smile that glimmered in the light and took multiple steps back. His entire body hardened like dragon scales. His jagged knuckles were bashed together. Was this his way of intimidating you or showing that he's ready? Either way, you're just as ready as he'll ever be! Your fists became a liquid silver, hardened and bashed together with sparks upon collision!

Aizawa found this taunting display of prowess to be entertaining. He already treasured the moments you'd smile, the moments you weren't down, but when you mimicked others out of pure joy and playfulness Aizawa didn't want to take it away from you but he had to walk away and give All Might the OK to start the timer.

With the field all level, All Might could finally witness his Daughter fight first hand. "Alright my kids... On a 3... 2... 1... GO!!!" The blonde smacked the table with his free hand and couldn't divert his eyes. The two rivals fists clashed simultaneously, the sharp ring of metal echoed and bounded off from wall to wall throughout the facility. Kirishima's physical strength clearly outweighed your own as your own fist kept getting pushed back and back on the verge of failing. A bead of sweat formed atop your forehead, it was becoming evident that you can't hold your own against your best friend in physical prowess.

Oh well, you thought. Just like that brawl with Endeavor, brains outweighs the brawn. Just gotta figure out a way around this upper hand of Kirishima's. Not to forget he mentioned something along the lines of an ultimate move. What exactly is Kirishima's ultimate move? All he can do is harden his body. What, is he gonna harden his body to the point where nothing can hurt him?

Thinking around your situation, an idea popped in! You released your pressure keeping Kirishima away and flipped backwards, nailing him in the chin with a steel toed kick! Kirishima grunted, faltering back a step but shook it off and came right back like a spring. The boy was persistent, with how many punches he'd thrown already you hadn't the time to calculate a plan and got barraged in hits left and right. Luckily you were bright to turn your body to metal, titanium actually. You've learned that it's the strongest metal in the world besides Uranium. But Kirishima's hits packed so much of a punch even with a metal body everything hurt like hell.

You could hear Bakugou while sustaining the pain... He was yelling something about losing to Shitty Hair, or that you shouldn't lose? It was confusing and you could 9nly liquidy yourself so many times before your body rejects the action, and you've done so a handful of times today already with Shoto. Absorbing the attacks weren't an option anymore and at this rate your friend will beat the shit out of you before you can even move a muscle. But are you gonna let exhaustion crown Kirishima the winner? No! Gotta think around situations just like you did back when you had the bubble quirk.

Your body went limp in response, the sort of 'play dead' tactic that was used against Endeavor. Kirishima tripped over your body, tumbling, and you jumped back to your feet after the small act. While your body can't melt, you can eject metal, streams of silver erupted from your palms to soak the ground. Your arms were thrown into the air, causing the pools to jut up into the air into walls that blocked Kirishima in. There was guilt to penetrate your stomach as you saw the look of pure betray in his crimson eyes before the walls were built. Right now, the only thing on your mind was winning, making it to that destined fight with Bakugou, if trapping Kirishima got you there then so be it. You're too exhausted to fight right now...

Kirishima kept punching your titanium walls, extremely small yet minor indents of his fist were visible as he ccontinuously went at the same spot. Just ten more seconds to go before the thirty second mark and All Might calls the fight. "I'm sorry it had to be this way. I didn't even get to see that move you wanted to show to me..." Your apology penetrates the walls and Kirishima had ceased his escape.

"Screw the thirty second rule!" The boy stomped his boot. "We're ending this like men whether you're one or not," BANG, BANG, BANG!!! Kirishima was punching his way through the wall once again and with each contact came an even deeper hump in the wall. He was powering his way through, not only that, but it was like he got this massive surge of strength and was gonna break through any second now. Then, BAM!!! Kirishima had broken through. It didn't look like Kirishima, but a monster from hell.

He primarily stood on his back feet, leaning his weight on his front arms like a gorilla when he wasn't traversing the field. His fingers were long and sharp like daggers, skin all rough and broken like dragon scales and teeth jagged like broken glass with eyes that saw nothing but crimson. Even his breath was hard and heavy as if barely any air was reaching his lungs.

"And I thought Dabi was scary..." Your legs carried you away like a rocket once the monster ran at you with a thundering roar! Your speed did you millions, but only for so long, Kirishima was breaking the ground open like fissures each time he slammed his body upon it. Places to run had ran out, being forced to face the monster head on. Kirishima kicked up from the ground, bracing himself up on his hands and knees, shrieking up a storm and shattering your ear drums! You threw a punch at his face, your fist arrived with accuracy but he hadn't flinched and your knuckle was bust up even with a metal shell. Another punch, the same result. Kirishima was indestructable.

Aizawa had turned to his class, pulling on the scarves around his neck. "Someone get Midnight!" Something told him that cancelling out Kirishima's quirk won't be enough.

"Kirishima... You win... My body can't go on..." You gave in, right then and there. Fists obliterated, nowhere else to run, body suffering from fatigue and unable to transform. He won...

However, Kirishima's labored breathing intensifies. His staggered fingers swiped at you, throwing you across the field to land just before a fissure. The wind knocked out of you, Kirishima came for you again and in a jumping like fashion. Terrified to get flattened, you rolled out of harm's way just in time with his landing and hopped to your feet.

That's not Kirishima!!! He's not aware that he just nearly killed me!!! I gotta calm him, but how!?!?!? Kirishima's claws were stuck within the ground, trapping him which is just what you needed. Clearly fighting won't help, talking didn't do much, but it isn't out of the question yet. You threw yourself on Kirishima's jagged backside. He bucked and growled, trying to throw you off. You were holding onto Kirishima's neck for dear life, getting ripped up in the process. "Kirishima it's me, (Y/n), one of your best friends!!!" He bucked some more, trying to grab you but couldn't reach. "You need to calm down! The real Kirishima would never hurt someone as bad as you have today. You're too nice and courageous to do that. Please wake up!!!"

"I... Hear ya..." The Monster choked out, but his actions weren't simmering down.

"You're gonna kill someone at this rate... Knock it off..." You hugged his neck tighter.

"Any... Second..." Kirishima groaned, although still rough around the edges, literally, he wasn't fighting back anymore. His labored breathing became more deep and clear, and body loosening up back into the teenage boy you long knew. "I forfeit... I'm so sorry (Y/n)," your friend slumped forwards, collapsing upon the ground and you went down with him. Your body was tired, broken, ripped apart.

"You gave me a fight worth fighting," you manage to smile through the pain.

"You better give it your all like that when we fight," Bakugou found you both and he wore this cocky smirk and knelt down to meet your level. "You're so full of sheer dumb luck it's a miracle you haven't kicked the bucket yet," your boyfriend ran a gloved hand through your hair. He appreciated the display you've given him so far today, making him all the more eager for what you'll give him next.

"Love you too," you let out a painful breath.

A flurry of footsteps, "Nobody dead?" Toshinori questioned.

"No," Bakugou cracked his knuckles. "But when Shitty Hair comes to he won't be."

"I thought you appreciated the fight Baku-Bro..." Kirishima whined.

"Oh I did," Bakugou smirked. "Still hurt my bitch though."

"Fight him later now get them both to Recovery Girl!" Toshinori shoved Bakugou and tried to lift you with him one available arm. Bakugou shoved him back in return, and picked you up the way he's known to do. In his arms like a bride of course! You're bloody and the uniform was ripped to shreds, but oh well, Bakugou's seen you worst.

"Thanks Young Bakugou, now we'll pick up with the rest of the tournament tomorrow after Young Midoriya and Kaminari's match."

"Shut your trap All Might I know!"

"You're something else..." You snickered weakly.

"And you'll be dead if you keep nearly dying on me."

"Awe Bakugou loves me."

"We've established this (Y/n)..." He shook his head.

"Well when you start nearly dying for me I'll stop doing it to you."

"This must be the blood loss talking..."

Again, two more chapters left. The Tournament/battle royal got WAY too long for it all to be in one chapter.

How do you think the Tournament will end?
