Chapter 1: Where I Lie

First and foremost, THIS BOOK IS A SEQUEL!!! If you haven't read Ignition, get out of here and read that book or else heavy spoilers for said book will haunt you!

Bakugou couldn't forget the day you left, the day you were stolen from the hero society. It was a bright day, everyone in the hero courses in UA were having the time of their lives interning with Pro Heroes and Agencies all around. Be it they were solving crime, saving troubled civilians, or just doing good deeds for society. Best Jeanist had Bakugou forfeit half of his hero costume, the bottom half in particular, for a pair of form fitting blue jeans and slick back hair. Bakugou disliked the new look, but you found him cute wearing a shy smile while you laughed in an amused yet pleased manner. Maybe the new appearance wasn't so bad, it made you happy and Bakugou would trade anything for your happiness being it was so rare to see you at peace and it brought a comfortable warmth to his body that even Bakugou couldn't figure out.

Just moments before, Bakugou had you in a choke hold, yelling obscenities about your daring risk to take on a more frightening approach in society all to prove a point. He really should have just left you alone. Instead, you weren't mad, weren't upset, in fact Bakugou was stunned that you felt deserving of his rage just to force you into an embrace. He's known for months how much he's come to like you, but it wasn't until that moment Bakugou realized that what he felt was love and he didn't want to let you go. You were a girl who wasn't afraid of anything, stepped up to the challenge, and in turn loved Bakugou despite how selfish and full of pride he can get after chipping away at those flaws of his over time.

Bakugou felt as if he didn't deserve such a sweet girl such as you, he was beyond nasty with you that first week of school, resulting in multiple fights and detention, yet to this day he proudly called you his girlfriend. However, now he's starting to rethink his decisions especially now at this very moment where he fought a mysterious villain clad in black wearing a menacing steel mask resulting in an accidental face reveal where you were revealed to be the said villain. To be sprawled out upon the forest floor, skin pale and scarred, evident black shadows below the eyes and a new quirk now referring to yourself as Ark and a villain.

Why, why did you turn against the hero society? Yes, you were kidnapped by the League of Villains, but to work alongside them is optional. Bakugou began to feel guilty for neglecting to say goodbye or treating you better on the second day of internships. Guilty for not confessing his love to you sooner than the day you nearly died to electrocution. Guilty for all the times he could've been nicer and made your days more enjoyable. You'd think that Bakugou being there for you, fighting on your behalf, and sacrificing himself would be enough to steer you in the right direction. Looks like everyone was wrong...

Bakugou knelt down on the forest floor, resting his hand upon your arm. Todoroki flinched, quick, he roughly snatched Bakugou back by his shoulder. "Don't," the male demanded. "I get that she's (Y/n), and I get that you care deeply about her, but something is clearly wrong," Todoroki paused, pointing at the half of your mask that remained in tact just a meter away. "(Y/n) doesn't go by her name anymore, somehow she has a new quirk, and she's out to kill us... She isn't the (Y/n) we both know anymore," Todoroki couldn't get past how visually hurt Bakugou came off to be. His crimson orbs was larger than normal, Bakugou wore an unsure mix of a dampened frown and painful grit of his teeth. It was clear that Bakugou was conflicted, he wants to save you, but is the risk worth it?

Bakugou sighed, standing up. "Let's get rid of the other guy and come back."

"Bakugou we should listen to Mr. Aiz-"

"(Y/n) is out cold!" Bakugou snapped. "Not like she can hurt us now..."

Indeed you lied out cold upon the forest floor of ashes and ice, that lone explosion to the face must've been enough to bring even a metal manipulator such as yourself to succumb to darkness. Todoroki sighed, "I meant we should leave," the male rephrased himself, realizing Bakugou misunderstood his original intention.

Bakugou's gaze narrowed in on Todoroki, pointing one lone finger at their struggling teacher fending off the male born of blue flames. "We're helping him..."

"Fine," Todoroki huffs, deeply wishing nothing else goes wrong. Then again, such a wish is useless as bad luck and destruction are nearly inevitable on school trips. Bakugou stepped away from your unconscious being, hitting Todoroki across the back roughly as it was most noticeable that Todoroki heavily disagreed to give Aizawa their aid after being instructed to flee with his loud sighs and near inability to move from his spot. Just as they got within proximity to fight Dabi, Aizawa had the male tightly wound up within his capture scarves. Words were shared, old information consisting of Bakugou's head having a beacon for capture, only for his body to melt on the spot into a pile of grey bubbling sludge.

Aizawa scratch the top of his head, examining the Dabi's remains that practically duplicated the state Ark and denounced Terra into just moments before. "Is everybody a clone?" Aizawa asked of himself, every villain he's seen today has been reduced to a pile of grey sludge that marked their demise.

"Clone?" Todoroki quipped, startling Aizawa so very lightly.

Aizawa dragged the toe of his boot through Dabi's liquid remains, "Ark and Dabi got into an argument after Ark murdered one of own who also melted into whatever this is," the male wretched, the remains were dense like molasses and caused his mind to wander realizing he was unconsciously cavorting with human remains leaving a distasteful rumble to his empty stomach. "Ark got all pissed off that his 'clones' were dead after killing his remaining clone that acted surprisingly similar to you Bakugou."

Bakugou flinched, touched to the heart for a second before shifting emotions with a snap of the finger after carefully listening to what Aizawa had to say. "Why would (Y/n) want to kill me!?" He snapped in a blinding rage.

"So Ark is (Y/n)," Aizawa spoke all so casually, after Ark's angered response to your name, he began to wonder if you were Ark at all. After peering over his shoulder, you still remained on the ground all sprawled out which was evidence enough.

Bakugou snatched his elder by his collar, "Answer me!!!"

Aizawa forced Bakugou to let him go with a death grip upon the wrist. "(Y/n) said something about Terra acting nothing like herself and didn't understand what part of her personality she originated from. Although I believe Terra originated from (Y/n)'s relationship or mental representation and memory of you," a girl who was violent, loud, and loved explosions. Almost all signs pointed towards Bakugou.

"That actually makes sense..." Todoroki hummed earning Bakugou and Aizawa's attention. "Uraraka and Tsu wouldn't leave us alone about Squall, another one of (Y/n)'s clones we assume since he wore her same exact mask," although the boys didn't fight Squall for all that long, Todoroki couldn't forget that male, he reminded Todoroki of another male in his life. "Tsu warned us ahead of time that Squall was practically a mirror image of you, Mr. Aizawa," Aizawa didn't seem to be phased. "He fought with a scarf, remained calm and wise... Until we wanted to reveal his identity and then he died."

"If Ark really is the original, our (Y/n), then the clones of her made up from memories of Bakugou and me are perfectly reasonable," Aizawa stepped past the boys to peer down upon your being. "However (Y/n) isn't (Y/n)... Her memories are all over."

"We know that," Bakugou huffed. "I swear she'd remember our past fights, she'd remember who we are, but nope..." Bakugou nearly body slammed you in the fight moments before. He's done that in the past, and you'd learn to avoid kicking him all together cause that's how he gets an opening to grab you and call it game over. This may be one fact, but it stood out like a sore thumb in Bakugou's eyes. "Let's get her to-"

"We're restraining her until we know just what exactly has gotten into (Y/n)," Aizawa took hold of his scarf, ready to tie you up on the spot. As much as he disliked the thought of having to do so, this was once again one of those moments that called for desperate measures where he was the hero and you were the villain.

Bakugou reached out to snatch the scarves out of his elder's hands, only for Todoroki to smack his hand away. "(Y/n) isn't (Y/n)... I know you love her Bakugou but you need to put that behind you for now," Todoroki's attempt to persuade Bakugou into Aizawa's current mindset seemed to work to some degree. Bakugou grumbled curses under his breath, turning himself around unwilling to watch yourself get tied up. It was a painful sight, knowing one of the people closest to you is being treated poorly like a villain, but it was all necessary...

Although left empty handed, the drowsy male had successfully tied up his daughter within his scarves where she sat upright and unmoving. Aizawa clicked his tongue. "If it isn't too much trouble, I want you both to get (Y/n) back to base with Vlad King and the Pussycats," Vlad King and his blood crystalizing quirk would come in handy with restraining you even better than the scarves ever could. Plus, the more Pros the better at a time like this.

Todoroki bows his head, "Call it done."

"I'll take her," Bakugou gladly took on the task, kneeling down and held you in his strong arms with one and hugging your shoulders to his chest while the other held your knees. There was a faint cloud of black soot on the left side of your face, where he attacked you, his stomach began to fold in on itself. The one thing that's never changed was the black rings around your eyes, you're not sleeping well if at all, just like before Bakugou severed your tie to Zack. It were as if time had rewound itself back to when your life was a living nightmare. All that progress made from insecure to aspiring hero all wiped out of existence...

"Bakugou!" Todoroki rose his voice ever higher, finally pulling Bakugou's train of thought back onto it's tracks after a moment of derailing into darkness. Bakugou's usual rage sparked up, spitting curses left and right. "Your asshole self is just an act... I know you care about her, just admit it," Bakugou couldn't really comment on Todoroki's nearly true claim, the second half of it that was.

"I'm just happy to have her back... Nothing more," Bakugou finally eased up, if only a little bit. "Keep out of my damn business Half n' Half Bastard..."

"Fine," Todoroki tuts when in reality he felt disturbed that Bakugou's reunion with you seems to have dishearten Bakugou more than when you remained missing for that 31 day period. He claims to be 'happy' all because you're back, however it seems to create a polar opposite response. Is the possibility of you being mentally 'gone' getting to him? Is the physical reunion not enough? What is going on within Bakugou's head?

Wasn't very long before you began to stir within Bakugou's arms, he choked on his own air, going stiff watching as you hummed in a half awake state, mumbling something under your breath. The boys listened in closely, trying to make out the words your lips formed but never voiced. But alas they couldn't make out a word besides mumbles of incoherent vocabulary. The tension was thick, they were choking on the air and the smoke had nothing to do with the moment. Your eyeballs were visually scrambling beneath your lids, before they peeled open to a heart stricken sight. You stared directly into Bakugou's eyes, as if searching for something, anything, a pain ate away at the back of your skull once again. Bakugou wanted to force your eyes to remain open, those aren't the eyes he remembers. Your eyes were no longer blue, rather they were a gradient. Beginning from the top of your iris they were a deep crimson like blood fading out into a pale blue. The whites of your eyes also followed the same pattern, black fading to white.

Your skull throbbed. "Damn it!" You cursed. "Why does it hurt? I need it to stop!" You cried desperately, trying to pull and rip at your mess of (h/c) helmet hair. The scarves keeping your arms to your side prevented such a task.

"What hurts?" Bakugou foolishly asked of his enemy.

"You!" You snapped, thrashing about Bakugou's hold until he dropped you upon the ground. The boys watched as the scarves helped little to nothing at all as your entire body liquified out of them just to materialize before them as if nothing has happened at all. "Listen up Katsuki!" You growled, Bakugou flinched. Hearing you call him by his first name felt all so foreign. "I don't understand why Master Tomura wants you so badly but it hurts my head so damn much!!! Just looking at you hurts," speaking of such, you forced yourself to turn away from your previous lover. "I will bring you to him... Maybe then Tomura can take away my pain..."

"What sort of bullshit has Handyman been feeding ya?" Bakugou insults blindly.

Your eyes darted open, spinning around to face Bakugou once again, "Shut your mouth!!!"

"I meant it bitch!" Bakugou retaliates, putting your previous identity as (Y/n) behind him; the boy finally understood that you're mentally in shambles. No way you'd willingly follow the orders of the man who runs the League of Villains. "Problem number one: (Y/n) is your name, not Ark!" Bakugou flashed an explosion in your direction, you just barely dodged with a jump high in the air. "Two," Bakugou grunted, he also joining you within the air. "Where's your damn bubble quirk? Cause you sure as hell didn't have this one!" Another explosion, dark smoke filled the area. "Three... What happened to that smile of yours?" The smoke cleared up, you seemed to be frozen from shock, pupils shrunken as the noises that float your mouth were nothing more than broken words. That last realization must've sparked something within you. "You've told me and Aizawa time and time again that you wanted to smile just like All Might because you saved Purp-" Bakugou choked, rewording himself as nicknames would get him nowhere. "Because you saved Shinso ten something years ago with a smile."

You both landed on the ground, you were still stunned internally fighting an entire war. Bakugou stepped forwards, lying a hand upon your shoulder. "Are you there... (Y/n)?" He leaned forwards, carefully examining your features that continued to contort with confusion.

You bit your lip, forcing eyes to a close. "Quit calling me (Y/n)!!!" Your calm exterior shattered, you jerked around within your spot, your entire right arm a long slick blade that impaled Bakugou by the shoulder, crimson scattered in all directions, seeping out of the wound to stain his uniform shirt. Bakugou couldn't move, your shock had transferred to him in full. "(Y/n) is dead... I'm Ark now..." You lifted your head, eyes stained with an overbearing pain. "Got it memorized?"

"Far from it..." Bakugou grunted, body frozen as the pain ate away at his senses and nerves leaving nothing but helplessness.

"Bakugou!" Todoroki cried out, running for the male.

"Learn your place!" You growled, throwing what you'd like to call a steel bomb of liquid silver at the boy. Todoroki couldn't dodge the bomb in time, becoming frozen in place as the metal hardened the second it had touched his body. You removed your blade from Bakugou's shoulder, he collapsed upon the ground. "Same goes to you..." You breathed, kicking Bakugou in the chest so that he lied on the ground. He tumbled, clutching onto the hole on his shoulder, the blood loss already getting to him as his vision grew hazy. You knelt down, resting a hand gently upon his chest. Bakugou reacted, a death grip on your wrist. Instead, it liquified, at this point that move of yourself isn't all that surprising anymore. The liquid metal swept the expanse of his chest, hugging his body, hardening till a metal band bound his arms to his side and a chain extended from himself to your hands.

It was official, you had successfully captured Katsuki Bakugou after so many attempts. Even with the capture on the mind, something else overpowered it. You couldn't help but stare at Bakugou, for the first time there wasn't pain coming from the action, rather a peaceful calm to spread about your mind like a refreshing dip in the pool on a hot day. His skin paled by the second, as if someone were draining the blond of his color and the only thing to remain was the blood that stained his clothes. Help him, that's what a voice in the back of your head chanted. Was helping the enemy the right thing? Why should you stop the bleeding?

After a moment's hesitation, you reached out for the open wound on his shoulder. Bakugou hissed as your fingers began entangling with Bakugou's liquid warmth. Silver seeped from your fingertips, stretching about his shoulder from front to back, hardened, concealing your injury. Bakugou stared at your wildly, you gave him an apologetic glance. "I've captured you... No sense in making you suffer more than you should Bakugou..." You helped the blonde to his feet, dragging him behind you like a dog on a leash.

Was that (Y/n) speaking there a second ago? Bakugou couldn't help but to think. Ark refers to him as Katsuki, you never called him by his given name despite how badly Bakugou would prefer that you did. The real Ark also wouldn't have mended his wounds. Somehow, if only a small part of you, had broken out of the shell to see the light of day.

You led Bakugou through to a portal of black, Bakugou had no control over the matter and had no choice but to follow behind you. He wanted to fight, even after his friends and classmates cried out to him desperately as they lost him to the enemy. Too much blood loss, too much mental damage. The sea of black faded out to a poorly lit bar, nearly empty of souls but gradually filled as villain after villain filed out of the same portal roughed up to hell and back. They complained about the Pro Heroes and Students given them hell and that they wanted a small break. You however, neglected to speak a word, still dragging Bakugou behind yourself just to stop at the presence of Tomura Shigaraki who was dressing in black, had pasty white skin even more white than Bakugou at the moment, and a zombified hand hugging his face where one lone piercing red eye peeked out between two fingers. You smiled sheepishly, holding out Bakugou's leash to him with high honors.

"Master Tomura... I caught him," you spoke in a near state of shock, excitement poking through the daze. "Katsuki Bakugou... He's all yours."

"My pet has done well," Shigaraki complimented you with a blank disinterest tone. "Tie him up in the chair by the door... Then you're free to do whatever you want," Shigaraki shakily pointed over yours and Bakugou's shoulder to a chair sitting beside the door of the bar. Leather straps lied on the arm rests, and multiple other forms of bondage lied in the seat like a gag, handcuffs, chains, you name it, it was there. You stalled, unconsciously dropping Bakugou's leash. "Nevermind, go to sleep Ark," Tomura snatched the leash from the floor, shoving you behind himself. Bakugou's head darted in your direction as you spun around with a look of betrayal occupying your features.

Dabi took it upon himself to do the honors of tying Bakugou up within the chair, his hands bound together, his legs bound to the chair itself, leaving no room for comfort. Bakugou felt the lowest he's ever had, being captured by villains and forced into a compromising position in front of them with no choice but to wish somebody was coming to his rescue. That's even if somebody comes to his rescue, when you went missing 30 days back, nobody even thought to even search for you.

"Whoa Ark why're you crying?" Toga stood before you, her head tilted to rest upon her shoulder in a curious manner.

You stuttered, blinking wildly, blindly reaching for your cheeks and shivered once your fingertips ghosted upon a wet stream of tears that fled your eyes. "I... Have no idea."
