Aspen rolled on me throwing her arm over my torso making me sigh, she could never sleep without touching me, annoying ass. I opened my eyes not seeing Memo in the bed making me squint my eyes, I yawned stretching as I got up. I was about to call her name until I heard her throwing up in the bathroom, I walked in the kitchen getting a water for her. 

I opened the bathroom door as she sat on the floor, she looked up and sighed. I handed her the water then brushed my teeth, she got up doing the same thing with the toothbrush she kept here. I didn't say anything to her and she didn't say anything to me. 

"You hungry?" She asked.

"Nah, we bout to go somewhere. Go get dress."

"Where?" 

"Just go get dress, always gotta ask questions, bald headed ass." I said making her punch me.

"Bald head by choice."

"Keep saying it and maybe we'll believe it one day."

"I'm not going no where with you." She said making me laugh.

"I'm sorry, you not bald head, we just can't see the rest of ya hair like you can."

"I'm going home." She said as I laughed harder.

"I have to tell Aspen this when she wake up." I said looking at her as I couldn't stop laughing. 

"You not even funny yo." She chuckled. 

"You laughing." 

I slipped on some grey sweats and a plain white tee as she did the same, I shook my head. She always tryna be like me, little girl my seed. I tried to wake Aspy up but she kept waving me off so Imma leave her bad ass here. I picked her up taking her to Josh room seeing him and Remy laying down but woke. 

"What you doing?" Josh asked.

"Her lazy ass don't wanna get up so watch her while I take Mem some where." 

"Y'all going to get food?" Remy fat ass asked.

"What you want?" 

"I don't know." She answered making me frown.

"Well while I'm out you better decide cause once I come back, you just gon be one hungry motherfucker." 

"Josh, he called me a hungry motherfucker."

"Bro, don't call her a hungry motherfucker."

"Get the fuck out my face." I laughed waving them off as I went into the kitchen getting a fruit punch Gatorade. 

"You ready?" She asked.

"Yeah, come on." I held the house door open for her. 

We got in the car and I backed away, our destination was around twenty minutes away so I wasn't in a rush at all. She was looking out the window, she looked bad. Bags under her eyes, skin all pale, she had this permanent frown on her face. 

"You hungry?" I asked.

"It's just going to come back up."

"We gon get you a smoothie or something then, you haven't ate in like two days."

"I haven't had a appetite anyway." 

"Well you need to eat something, you look bad. Like how Avery looked when he was coming off the pills." I laughed and she punched me. "I wasn't even trying to be funny." 

"Okay, sorry I haven't been up to look my best these past days."

"More like weeks." I mumbled.

"What?" 

"Nothing but I'm not saying cake ya face up but you look sad as fuck Mem, you walk around with a permanent mug like somebody killed ya dog. Life too short to be so unhappy all the time." 

"I'm not happy so I'm not going to pretend I am." She shrugged. 

"Okay." I shrugged. I was going to make her happy so it was no point in trying to get her to smile, she'll do that eventually.

"Where we going?"

"You in the car already, does it matter?" 

"Josiah, you getting too comfortable. Stop playing with me before I punch you in your neck." 

"You ain't gon do shittttt." I dragged out laughing knowing she was getting mad. 

"You think you tough like I ain't beat you up before."

"I know you ain't talking bout when you was pregnant?" I looked at her with wide eyes. "Hell yeah I let you beat me up, wasn't bout to hurt my daughter. Bet you won't try that shit now though."

"I will."

"You ain't stupid." I scoffed.

"I know I'm not."

"Egg-zactly." I laughed at her punk ass.

I was bout to say something else but she decked the shit out of me in my neck making me instantly look at her, I was bout to hit her back but the light turned green. I laughed and looked at her as she smirked.

"When we get out the car imma fold you." 

"Imma hit you back."

"Nah, you gon be sticking."

"Okay." She scoffed. 

She really thought I was playing, Imma make her cry as soon as we finished what we gotta do. I turned on the radio as Bodak Yellow played making me turn the station and roll my eyes, I fucks with the song but niggas starting to play it too much. I turned to the station bobbing my head to the song that was playing. Stopping at the red light, I grabbed my phone going to Snapchat.

I grabbed her chin and started rapping to her. "You drive me crazy, shorty, I need to see you and feel you next to me. I provide everything you need and I like your smile and I don't wanna see you cry."  

She covered her face smiling. "Stoppp."

"Mhm." I smiled ending the video. 

"You really annoying." 

"See ya ass smiling though." 

"Yeah, yeah." 

I made a sharp turn pulling into the parking lot then parked in a space close to the door since I ain't feel like walking. She looked at me in confusion but I just got out going to open her door knowing she hate that, I helped her out as we walked to the entrance as I told them I was here. 

"Why we here? Ny and Avery been home with the baby for like a week now." She asked as we got on the elevator.

"Shh." I told her getting off on the third floor and going to room 324 where JC, Lys and Dr.Robbins was sitting talking. 

"Oh, y'all finally here." Lys said.

"Um, why we here?" Memo asked. "Mom, you pregnant?" 

"No but you might be." She said and Memo rolled her eyes.

"No, I'm not. Y'all annoying as hell." 

"I'll beat ya ass, who you talking to?" Alyssa flinched at her and Memo bitch ass jumped making me laugh.

"No you won't, you not touching my princess." JC defended her. "Don't be jumping, she soft as hell."

"But you can't beat me." She laughed waving him off.

"Okay, Memo you know how this goes. I'm going to get some blood then you going to pee in this cup."

Memo rolled her eyes sitting on the bed as Dr.Robbins prepared to take some blood, I watched her thinking about the time I used to come with her to all her appointments with Aspen, even Zolah. After getting her blood, she walked into the bathroom then came out minutes later handing the cup to Dr.Robbins.

"What if you pregnant?" JC asked.

"We not going to speak on what ifs because I'm not pregnant." 

"If you are, can I have your baby?" Alyssa asked making us look at her. "What?" 

"So Memo, your pregnancy test says you aren't pregnant-" Dr.Robbins said.

"Can we get an ultrasound anyway? Sometimes the test be lying." Lys cut her off.

"Yeah." She got the equipment and told Memo to lay back. She put the gel like shit on her stomach and moved the wand around. "So as y'all can see there isn't an fetus or anything else here, she is not pregnant." 

"As I been saying." She rolled her eyes. "I know my body."

"So why she been throwing up, moody as fuck, lost of appetite and other shit?" I asked.

"Her blood pressure is high, too high. All of that can be caused by stress, are you stressed?" 

"Yeah." She answered honestly. 

"That's why she's having symptoms but this stress is taking a toll on her body, if she doesn't relax soon y'all would be here for more serious issues." 

"Okay, thanks Robs." JC said shaking his head.

"She can't eat without throwing up and she ain't eat in like three days, what I could do bout that?" I asked.

"Try some fruits and stuff that you don't really have to chew as in rice or applesauce. If she can hold that down then she should be able to eat regularly." 

"Okay, thanks Robs." I hugged her then waited for Memo. I dabbed up JC then hugged Lys walking out with Memo behind me. 

"Remy just texted me and said she wanted to go out tonight, all of us. You down to or not? If not you, me, and Aspy can have a movie night."

"Aspy has school in the morning." 

"We could take her to Tac, they both been asking bout each other." 

"Okay, I wanna see papa anyway." She said nodding as we stepped outside. 

I punched her in her shoulder making her stop and turn around. "I told you I was gon hit you back."

"But why you hit me from behind pussy?" She laughed about to hit me but I grabbed both of her hands in one hand. 

"Imma make you cry if you hit me." I laughed letting her go and of course shit hit me like I knew she would. "Aight." 

I punched her in her leg as she tried to cover her legs holding out one arm telling me to stop, I hit her again making her fall on the ground as I laughed. 

"Apologize or Imma make you cry." 

"No." She whispered making me hit her three times in the same spot on her leg.

"Josiah stop! I'm sorry."

"That ain't good enough." I continued hitting her.

"I apologize Jo! Stop." She whined holding my fist as I laughed helping her up.

"Now stop playing with me cause you can't beat me."

I got in the car then pulled off seeing McDonalds right there and pulled in since I knew Aspen should be woke now. Ordering all of our food, I quickly pulled off trying to hurry to get in the house. I needed another nap before dealing with their annoying asses.

I handed Memo the house keys as I got the food, she closed my car door as we walked in. She wasn't talking to me but I didn't care, her fake tough ass always wanna play then get mad. Remy and Aspen was in the kitchen laughing as Josh made a protein shake.

"Daddy, why you leave me?" She asked as soon as she saw me making me laugh.

"You wouldn't wake up."

"I was tiedd." She said making all of us laugh.

"You really annoying." Remy looked at her digging through the McDonald's bag.

"So?" Josh asked.

"She not pregnant, it's all the stress."

"I could of told y'all that, Memo don't handle stress well. Her hair start falling out and shit." Remy said eating her nuggets.

"That's why she look mad?" Josh asked.

"No, I beat her the fuck up." I laughed.

"Why?"

"She thought she could beat me."

"You just think you could beat the world now, huh?" Remy asked laughing.

"Nah." I laughed looking at Aspy take selfies on her iPhone 7. It's crazy how one person can change your life, even though she was only 3 this was my best friend. All my success, maturity, everything is because of her, she my world.

"Daddy, take picture with me." She smiled as I walked over to her closing my eyes and sticking my tongue out.

"Oh, Aspy mommy was like she not baldhead earlier right? And I was like "yeah, you not baldheaded everybody else just can't see the rest of your hair"." I busted out laughing along with her.

"It disappeared." She said making all of us laugh.

"Ayo, nah she different." Josh laughed. 

"Don't be talking about my cousin." Remy said laughing.

"I'm bout to go take a nap though, Aspy when I get up go pack a bag, you staying with Tac tonight."

"Papa! I go pack now!" She yelled running towards her room.

I grabbed Memo smoothie then walked towards my room, she was in my bed on the phone. I took off my shirt and my sweats leaving me just in some basketball shorts. I climbed in bed beside her and handed her the smoothie.

"Drink." I told her leaning back as she took it.

"Is it nasty?"

"I don't know, let me taste." She handed to me as I drunk some. "Oh this shit lit."

"Is it mine or yours?" She asked since I kept sipping. 

"It's ours, this shit good as hell." 

"Joo." She whined causing me to take one last sip and hand it to her. 

"Would you still have wanted this if I was pregnant?" She asked me after a few minutes of silence. I opened my eyes and looked at her.

"After all the bullshit we been through these last few weeks, you think I was just gon let you go again? Nah, we would of just had to deal with it." I said not even thinking about it. 

"We been through a lot these past few weeks." She nodded. 

"It would have been funny though." 

"Why you say that?" She laid down after finishing her smoothie. 

"When you was pregnant, Zay was your boyfriend. If you was pregnant, we would have been together. That shit would have been funny explaining to the kids in the future." 

"Explaining that to anyone would be weird, we would of got all kinds of looks." She laughed. 

"I was kind of disappointed though, seeing Avery and Nyasia with their baby I be missing when Aspen was a baby." 

"You good with babies, even Zolah used to pick you over me and Zay." 

"It's because I'm so childish." I shrugged laughing. "If Aspy know you gon say no, she gon come to me cause she know I'm not. I can't say no to her, whatever she wants, she gets." 

"And that's her problem." 

"Probably so, I know in the future I'm gon regret the shit but right now if she want the moon I'm suiting up to go get it." 

"I want the moon."

"Better go ask JC." I told her making her laugh and smack me on my chest.

"I really hate you." She laughed closing her eyes.

"Right." I nodded turning on the t.v on going to ESPN.

Somehow Memo found her way to me, she laid her big ass head on my shoulder wrapping her arm around my neck. This where Aspen get this shit from, both of them just be laying all on you taking over ya personal space. I rolled my eyes deciding to let her stay as I dozed off taking a well needed nap.

I walked in Tac house holding Aspen and Memo on the side of me under my arm as her arm was around my waist. We walked in the kitchen to see Mulan, Jen, and Tac, they stopped talking and looked at us. 

"Look at y'all looking like some family goals." Mulan cheesed recording us on Snapchat making us laugh.

"Chill." I laughed putting Aspen down so she could run to Tac.

"Wassup Jen?" I hugged her kissing her on her temple then dabbing Tac.

"I miss you so much papa!" She dramatically yelled holding him tightly. 

"I missed you more Princess Aspy!" 

"Y'all both so dramatic." Jen shook her head lifting up a top from one of the pots she had on the stove.

"What you cooking nana?" Memo asked peeking over.

"Collard greens, mac and cheese, and some ribs. Something simple so he could eat." 

"Something simple?" We all repeated. 

"I wonder what the hell is going all out then." I mumbled looking at her stir the collard greens.

"Oh God." She laughed. 

"Aye Jo, lemme talk to you." Tac said making me nod. He put down Aspy and I followed him out into a office type room.

"Wassup?" I asked sitting down.

"I ain't get a chance to talk to you about the shit that been going on but I've been updated." He said making me nod. "So you and Memo back together?" 

"We ain't really talked about it but I guess we taking it one day at a time, we both know what we want and we good how we are." 

"So I don't have to tell you to not fuck up this time right?" 

"Nah, I'll never dog her out again." 

"Okay, good. The first time you cheated on her I let her brothers take care of you but if it's a second time, you will only be a memory to Aspen. You got it?"

"Uh, y-yeah. I got it." I stuttered sitting up straight as he stared at me. 

"Speaking of brothers, did you and Jaylen figure out a solution?" 

"Nah, all he gotta do is go his way and I'll go mine." 

"So it's no more beef?" 

"It was never beef." I shrugged. "He just think he could beat me and I'm tired of proving otherwise." 

Chuckling, Tac shook his head. "You remind me of me in some ways, you and Zay back cordial?" 

"We more than cordial, we was friends before the bullshit happened and we realized it ain't no reason to be beefing now. That's my nigga, regardless. My boyfriend." I chuckled at the last part making him laugh. 

"Aye Tac we bouta be out." Jaylen said coming in the office then stopping as he looked at me. 

"Sit."

"Tac, nobody got time-"

"Nigga, sit ya ass down." He looked at him daring him to say something as Jaylen smacked his teeth then sat down in a chair far from me.

"We dropping this beef right here, right now. Y'all don't drop the hostility towards each other then I'm getting involved and if anyone of y'all think y'all could beat me it's enough space in here."

"I just told you it was never beef, I understand where he was coming from because I have a little sister but he went about the situation wrong. This was my manz, just was shouting him out, he a big part in my success but niggas showed their true colors so we can't rock the same." 

"As he said, it ain't no beef. Memo just stupid and when you do her wrong, I'll still be her shoulder to cry on because I actually love my little sister." 

"And when I don't do her wrong?" 

"I know her better than you, we fucked bitches together. I know you don't love my sister and you won't do her right but I'm going to mind my business from now on."

"So because we shared bitches while I was single I'm a bad person? You don't know me as good as you think you do. You right, I don't love your sister, I'm in love with your sister. She the person I plan on marrying, having all my babies, growing old with. Don't ever doubt my love for that girl." 

"It ain't my business no more." He shrugged. 

"It never was from the beginning but Imma leave Tac, let me know if you need me to take Aspy to school or you gon do it." I told him dabbing him up as I walked out. 

I walked in the kitchen seeing Aspen record Mulan, Memo and Jen as they laughed and sung along to the music. I smiled then waited for the song to go off to tell Memo I was ready to leave, she nodded hugging Jen as I did the same. We didn't say bye to Mulan because we was bout to see her again in another twenty minutes at the restaurant. 

"You okay?" She asked as I drove quietly. 

"Yeah, why you ask?" 

"Your vibe seem off, we could go in the house and I can cook something." 

"Nah, I'm good Ivy. Just thinking bout some shit." 

"Like what?" 

"You know I love you right?" I asked as her eyebrows furrowed. "Like, I know I be on some mean shit but I really love you Mem, I'm in love with you and I been feeling like this since I met you. I can't apologize enough for all the dirt I did to you but I don't regret the shit cause it made us how we are now. I know you gon have some trust issues but I'm working on gaining your trust, I never want you out my life again."

The car grew silent as my heart pounded out my chest, I never openly expressed my feelings to someone so this was new. I meant everything I said and I wasn't just talking, I'm going to prove to her how much I mean the shit I'm saying. 

Stopping at a red light, I looked over at her just as she grabbed my face and kissed me. She was leaning over the arm rest as I grabbed her elbow. Our lips moved in sync as she stuck her tongue in my mouth. We was so in the moment I didn't even notice the light change until I heard the horns beeping from behind. 

"If I didn't love you as much as you loved me we wouldn't be here right now, you gained my trust back throughout the years, you're my best friend. We're not dwelling on the past anymore because you got me, been had me. I love you more." She said pecking my lips again the sitting back down.

I didn't say anything back as I drove to the restaurant, I was still in shock from that kiss to even say anything. I've been waiting to kiss her again for the last four years and that was just perfect, I felt like a bitch feeling all nervous and shit but this was my baby.

I finally got my babay back.
