Tasted Freedom
A bit worried about their friend and the way these events were seemingly changing her, they left her in the pastures nevertheless to think alone. She loved flowers after all so it wasn't likely that she would do anything crazy. That is what they hoped.
Blythe was grateful that they left her. She was itching to hurt someone or something and it scared her. All of these "emotions" were new to her, how was she supposed to handle them? She wasn't designed to have any of these things...they were making her weak. However, she pondered to herself as she looked at the flowers. They were so beautiful and dressed so elegantly....the opposite of her. Yet, some of the most beautiful plants were poisonous, unable to be eaten even in the smallest quantity and a lot of others were used to help people and heal them and give them good life and health. God designed them, made them for a purpose even if not everything made sense to her.
Maybe she was designed for emotions...to feel these things even if it felt out of her control....maybe these are the emotions God originally gave to her and Nowaski stole them until now.
The thought of how much general Nowaski stole from her made her anger flare. Her scares itched, recalling everything she had to endure from Nowaski and everything she could never get back. Something inside of her wanted somebody to pay for her loss but she didn't want the innocent to be the ones to pay. She already owed the innocent so much as well as the people around her that showed her much mercy.
"What a nice thing to have." She whispered as a baby bunny hopped towards her feet. It pawed at her as if looking for a playmate. The land she remembers knows nothing about mercy or love or kindness and grace. Everyone there are bloodthirsty, desperate to indulge the darkness in their hearts. "It's the complete opposite." Here it's full of love and mercy even if some are thirsty for her head...it's like a whole new world and even though adjusting is a challenge, Blythe found herself longing to remain in this place.
All her life she longed for death to kiss her lips and take the last of her breath but instead, God was leading her and breathing life into her being. He was removing the veil from her eyes and showing her the truth that was hidden from her all her life. He was showing her His goodness and love, the mercy she had never dreamt about and she found herself dreaming farther than she ever had before. Not of the scenery of flowers following the wind or the past of her life that was stolen from her. She dreamt of new beginnings; of a life where she would not have to be the monster, stealing the lives of innocent people. A life she could call her own and where she could have that relationship with God that everybody seemed to have, that peace and love rooted down deep in her own heart for those that are lost as well.
These emotions frightened her more than anything else she faced before but at the same time...she tasted freedom and in that she found a hidden hunger for more.
