Chapter 32
After having coming up with noteworthy questions together, Snow and Casey were ready to start this another kind of challenge. Snow wrote it down in her notebook and left two blank spaces so they could fill out a response. It's supposed to focus on a future scenario of what they imagined their life could be like or whatever was current with them, and then what they'll do is to compare their answers at the end to match up to how compatible they are.
They didn't have to have the same responses, but they should have something fitting so it could determine what wavelength they were on. A feel of a "sneak peek" of what they had in mind.
Snow took out two different colored pens from her pencil case. "Do you want the blue pen or red pen?" she asked him.
"Red is fine," Casey answered.
She gave him the red pen and held onto the blue pen in her hand. They were sitting next to each other so it was quicker than going across from each other at the table. It was a nice day outside, but to compromise for his sake, they were in a shaded area to avoid the sunlight.
They looked at the first question.
Do you prefer sunrises or sunsets?
Sunrises for her because it represented a new day and a new opportunity. It's kind of like God's way of saying, 'Let's start again.' She was someone that loved to say hi to the beautiful nature and thanked them for giving them a life. It's almost like a chance of rebirth.
Not to mention the peace and quiet when no one was around, and you could be the only one seeing its beautiful shine.
She wrote down sunrises in blue ink. Underneath her response, he wrote in red ink that said sunsets. So he preferred when the sun went down and enjoyed the moments before they were gone.
Do you think family is important?
She loved her parents; she wouldn't be anywhere without them. They were always kind to her and loving. When she was younger and needed a playmate, she played with her father because he had a more fun trait. And with her mother, she was the one who talked to her emotionally and gave her advice about things in life and what she should expect. Mistakes could be made, but what's important was what you learned from them and to consider how they made you feel about it.
Sure, sometimes they have scolded her for doing some things, but they were never harsh to her about it. They were cautious and looked at it another way for why it wasn't good for her. They were as reasonable as they possibly could.
They made her who she was.
Snow wrote down yes. She glanced at Casey's answer after he wrote down his answer, and it said so-so.
Do you see yourself with kids?
She adored the idea of becoming a mother one day when she was old enough and had enough resources to take care of them mannerly and responsibly. Having kids was something that she wanted one day.
She put down immediately yes. And hopefully to have kids one day with the love of her life if that dream could come true. That would be so perfect for her.
Casey wrote no.
"You don't see yourself with kids?" Snow wondered.
"I don't think about those things. That's far to think about; I don't know," Casey spoke uncertainly.
Snow supposed that's fair. Maybe it's not something for everyone. And there were those who didn't have a clue that just left it off as something that was unknown.
What would be your future pet(s)?
Dogs! She would like a mini puppy running around with a little boost of enthusiasm so she could play with them. They could do all kinds of things together.
Surprisingly, what Casey put down for his response was Guinea pig. She didn't peg him as a lover for Guinea pigs.
"You like Guinea pigs?" she asked astonishingly.
"I've always wanted one. They're so funny if you look at their reactions. They also make those cute wheeking sounds," Casey shared, then laughed quietly.
What Snow never thought she would ever hear Casey say in a sentence—cute.
She held herself together. Another side of him was too much for her to handle.
Are you a spender or a saver?
Snow didn't have a lot of things to want to spend except occasionally out for food and drinks or anything skincare-related products for her. Other than that, she didn't spend anything too frivolously. She spent most time shopping for food and clothes when she went out with her parents.
She's a saver.
He's a saver too.
If you both like two different things, how would you settle to buy one thing?
Clearly, they needed to have reasons and rationalizations of why their thing would come first before another. To buy things they like was fine every now and then, but they couldn't have everything they liked or they would go broke.
He put down something like that too as well.
How many years would you want to date a person before marrying them?
If age was a concern, Snow hoped that she had plenty of time to get to know someone before she would marry them. It could be nice to be married at age twenty-five. That sounded like it was a good age. But how would she know how many years if she didn't know she would ever date someone?
She wrote down unknown since she didn't know what the next few years were like for her.
Snow glanced at Casey's answer. Dating with years feels like a number but what matters is how sure you are of the person.
She wondered how sure he was when he was with Raquel. Did he ever think to marry her one day?
What importance does making memories hold in your life?
A lot. She enjoyed memories as a piece of her life and liked to collect new ones along the way. Right now she very much enjoyed the memories of their relationship progress. It was looking up.
She finished writing and when he looked her way, she smiled subtly at him. He smiled back.
This small silence they were sharing as they were mainly just writing down their responses to the questions along the way wasn't unsettling or weird, but it felt almost comforting. Snow didn't know why it was comforting. She wasn't a fan of the silence since they were usually awkward, but this was all right.
"Helloooo friends," Malloy's voice spoke in a loud greeting, and Snow looked up as he made his way over with Kyle.
The two of them sat to the empty seats across from her and Casey. "So what's going on?" Malloy asked them.
"Oh, hi guys," Snow said. "We're just filling out a little fun thing that's like supposedly future-based questions and see if we could be compatible after we finish filling them."
Kyle leaned forward, looking into the questions. Whatever he was thinking, he didn't say out loud but just nod to himself.
"So, I know that you guys are almost finished with your," Malloy gestured with a hand doing a little wave dance, "relationship series kind of thing."
Snow still let Kyle and Malloy know about what was going on between her and Casey. She liked telling them recently how Casey was becoming nicer to her. She reserved the part about how she almost felt like she was seeing Casey differently because it was just a spur of the moment.
"Me and her are getting along a lot better now, right?" Casey said, turning to her with his eyes looking expectantly.
Did making up with him the best that could happen to them? Oh definitely. She especially didn't think she would see this better side of him, and it felt nice and fuzzy. "Yeah, I think we are."
"That seems good," Kyle said.
"Maybe I can help you guys count up the score of your guys' compatibility when you're done," Malloy offered.
"If you like to, then okay," she said.
Snow and Casey took turns writing out their answers question after question. It came down to a few remainings ones.
Would you try to change each other's unhealthy habits or leave it as a matter of personal choice?
Depending on what it means to be unhealthy, then it could mean anything. Casey thought up this question, and Snow thought it could be like maybe some things that might become something long-term affecting health. If it was like not drinking enough water or biting your nails, it shouldn't be that bad and something manageable to fix.
Maybe try to change it? Snow wrote hoping it's what he meant by unhealthy habits like small things to help improve their lifestyle choices.
Casey put down try to change it too. Oh good, okay. She guessed it right.
Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
Happy, healthy, and living. Those were key elements she counted as something she could achieve in her life. As long as she kept going and find something that's out there for her, it wouldn't be too bad.
And hopefully a significant other, please. Why is it too much to ask?
Casey wished to be surrounded by good people in his life and loved by them. He mentioned as well that maybe—he emphasized on the maybe part—that there was someone special for him; if his heart allows it.
She knew fully he could find it. Whomever that girl might be.
Do you trust your current partner with your life?
Would she trust Casey with her life? He hadn't given her a reason to not trust him. Even though he was quiet and mysterious from the start, he was honest and truthful with her. She was herself, and he acknowledged each part of her. Sometimes when she wanted to raise his spirits but failed, he found a way to do that for her instead. Snow could feel safe and assured around him. He talked to her no matter what he was feeling.
Yes. She didn't have to think further about this.
Her heart warmed when she saw his answer that he trusted her too.
The last question stood out to her. It was funny but also meaningful because what was the feeling of this.
Do you think love is blind?
Theoretically, yes. From what she heard about love, love is like a river flowing from the heart. Once it starts, it doesn't stop. Love can take you to new places, to new things you have never done before. It drives you crazy until you can't get enough. You won't realize it until it just hits you one day.
Could that happen for her? Could she find that intense and sweet love with someone? How did people really know when they're in love? She fancied for that beautiful, blooming love that was the beginning of everything. A love that carried through all the hardships.
Snow thought yes, love is blind.
They finished with the last question. Snow gave Malloy a green pen to mark the ones that were similarly alike and compatible. Kyle and Malloy assessed the notebook concertedly. Snow and Casey sat waiting while saying nothing.
Snow wondered if they were compatible. There would be inevitably differences and contrast on the outside. But on the inside, they could share something similar and want the same things.
Soon Malloy gave back the notebook to her and let Kyle spoke. "So, you have about I'd say a shot between sixty-six through seventy percent compatibility rate between you two."
She knew they could find some kind of connection there. "I think it's still good," Snow said.
"Yeah, I like that odd," Casey agreed.
"Well, alright," Malloy said.
"It's good to see you two doing well," Kyle began, softly smiling at them.
"Thanks, that's nice to say. I think that soon we'll all just be good friends," Snow spoke positively.
Casey punched her lightly on the arm. She turned her gaze to him, and in his eyes looked better that she couldn't detect any dark storms. She didn't say anything but just smiled at him.
He smiled kindly back at her.

Hello, Happy Friday! I am dying in heat and am sweaty. I'm happy about the iCarly reboot. I'm loving it so far. I'm so glad to see Miranda Cosgrove as Carly again. She's so beautiful! I love her. Spencer never ages. That man is fine as wine.
Also barely started but I'm going to be watching my lifelong watch list of Teen Wolf series. I know it's popular, lol. I've only seen like a couple of episodes back then before I had no more access to channels on TV. I was so interested in the day it was out and read the description of the synopsis. Started on the first episode, and I'm a try to keep going.
Back to this chapter, it's just some important questions to always consider in any relationship. The higher the compatibility rate, the higher you're more likely to get along because of how the two will deal with each other and under such living circumstances. But yeah. It's just honest questions. Do you like how Snow and Casey are getting along?
Please vote and comment as it means the world to me.
