Bonus Chapter 3
Despite the warm weather and the high temperature in the air, Snow smiled up at Harry as they took a leisure walk through the sidewalk in a community park.
They were each other's health and fitness buddy in walking and bike riding. Since they liked early mornings, they sometimes meet up whenever it's convenient. Snow had gotten used to being around Harry that it turned into something normal. Every so often, she'd be lying if she still didn't have that tiny crush on him as she did those months ago.
"It's such a pretty day, right?" Snow asked happily, beaming her smile.
The tall trees made a perfect shade along their walks, so it felt they were protected. There was a great view of the pond and widening green grass all over. It was just perfect to come out and make good chats.
Harry observed peacefully and made soft nods as he strolled with his hands behind his back. "It's always a good day to see the day."
"I'm so glad to have someone to enjoy mornings with me. It's a... good start and refreshing than to go out alone."
Actually, it was just recently that they decided to make this little habit of theirs; this was their third time meeting up freely. Not that they wouldn't mind hanging around each other, but just a little bit, she didn't want to make it known to Casey in case... he felt oddly weird about them hanging out even though she'd occasionally see him around the university campus, like just around or when they meet each other in the library, making small talks before they get drowned in their assignments.
"Oh, so you don't make Casey go out with you when it's sunup?" He glanced at her with a lively but teasing smile on his lips.
She made a slight face. "Casey's such a grump. He wished to not be disturbed."
"Hmm," he replied. "So he's sleeping in?"
"Yep."
"Well, that's just what he's missing out. Beautiful mornings are such a pleasantry sight one couldn't experience the same during normal day hours."
"You get me!" Snow exclaimed excitedly with her fists up closely together.
"His loss." Harry shrugged loosely. "I get to have you for myself during this time." He smiled directly in a way that caught her off guard that she felt his warmth flowing to her.
Did he have to talk so smoothly and effortlessly? Snow contained herself at the moment that she had to suck in her breath steeply, looking away from him to do it properly.
He chuckled, "I think you still partly find me intimidating."
"What makes you say that?" she asked, trying to defend herself coolly.
"It would just seem to me that you look like deep down, you're still captivated by my looks." Harry smiled at her intriguingly with his head tilted at her.
And would that be so wrong? Snow laughed out nervously. "You shouldn't have been born with good genes because I'm sure I'm not the only person to think that."
His smile didn't falter, turning into a rather boyish smile now. He looked at her coyly. "I think mum would be delighted to hear a girl thought that."
Suddenly she remembered what the older part of her wished she could've made happen. Even though she's perfectly happy with where she was right now with her current standing, she just felt so bad. Her smile on her lips faltered. Although it could've been too stupid to say this, she wanted to know what he would think.
"You know... I wonder what it'd be like if I were to go out with you on that second date I never had with you."
His expression turned visibly confused. "Hmm, why?"
"I don't know." Snow shook her head, shyly turning the other way with her eyes dropped to the ground. "I just think you're so sweet, too good to be real. I don't know how to look at you for the most part, but I know that I might like you more than what we have, have I actually gone down that path with you."
Was this too corny to say? An invisible blush would've made its way to her cheeks, and Snow was terribly afraid that it would be too much with what she said. But to her relief, it organized her thoughts with it being out in the open and not hiding it like she always did around him.
Harry rendered his thoughts silently, their walk being just crumbles of pebbles under their shoes. Snow took it as she said too much even though she was just plain honest without actually intentionally doing anything with that intent but just a simple thought. She knew that she would have continued to work her way until it became something with him.
Then he stopped in his track in one spot, and it made her stop with him. He looked at her thoughtfully. "Then how about we have a second date right now?"
Snow widened her eyes unbelievably. That was so sudden for her.
"A platonic date." He smiled assuredly at her.
Her feelings began kicking in as though a burst of giggles would pour out this instant. She smiled widely at him. "I'd like that a lot."
It was a forty-eight minutes wait until their actual platonic date started. Harry had told her to wait for him so that he could go on to "surprise" her. Snow waited in the grass when she sat there doing nothing much but just simple daydreams and thoughts of what kind of date they'd share. The thought of having a second date with him was just like a second chance opportunity in knowing him further and bonding but without any romance or subtle flirting they'd do.
The idea of it was so cute for her.
"I'm here." Harry returned with a woven picnic basket in one hand and the other with a red and white checkered picnic blanket folded up neatly.
"You're here." An immediate smile came onto Snow's face with her eyes lit up with excitement. She looked as he smiled back to her quickly.
He spread the blanket down on the grass for the two to share and opened the top lid of the basket. He first pulled out a storage food container, taking off the lid, and then passed an egg sandwich to her. It was done in sliced boiled eggs and added with watercress and parsley.
"Hungry?" Harry asked.
She nodded, admiring the sandwich in her hands. "You made this?"
"Yeah, done by the one and only."
Snow bit into the sandwich softly, tasting not only the eggs and vegetables but also with salt and pepper. Her eyes widened with amazement. "This is good," she said.
Harry was pulling out more of the setup on the blanket. There was plenty of stuff that her eyes widened at the sight of just how much he had. More sandwiches, croissants, mini bagels with cream cheese, potato salads, juice box of orange juice, muffins, yogurt parfait in jelly jars. He was confidently prepared for a picnic.
"You brought all this?" she asked, shocked. She had a light breakfast before going out, but this was exceptional in filling up a full stomach.
"This is what I can gather up in a short amount of time," he responded.
"No, no, I mean, wow. I can't believe you did this." She tried to show her appreciation, but on the contrary, she was more astounded by everything and the efforts that went into it.
He smiled. His brown eyes appeared smiling too, with his ever so gentle features that just naturally posed on his exterior. "Thank you."
It was more than what she could credit him for; Snow would have dreamed of doing something like this with him, and it's almost like she was in her rather daydream than the moment right now. She measly tried to hide her smile. "I should be thanking you. You didn't have to do this."
His head tilted in questioning. "Are you saying two people can't have a good-hearted breakfast picnic and chat about the weather?"
"I supposed there's nothing wrong with that."
Harry looked at her with approval and picked up his sandwich, raising it up to his mouth as he took a bite. They relaxed together with the calming scenery like people living in the moment. Except for some other people who were early risers as them, no one else filled the space around the park. It made it such a relaxing time and a nice little getaway to their weekend.
"I remembered... we met at a park," Harry recalled.
It only seemed like it was all just a dream for her that day, the day when she encountered him unexpectedly. Snow nodded. "It was at the other park, but yes, I do too. I was totally not expecting for a little girl to come with... a dream guy like you."
"I'm a dream guy? I wouldn't think of myself that way."
"Aww, really?" Humble as ever, but she practically liked that about him. "Don't you remember how I was... totally speechless around you? I had to make myself talk to look seemingly functional."
"I didn't notice." He smiled casually.
"I thought you were. You came to me like a novel, an unexpected chapter in my life. I don't normally experience that." Admitting this out loud would be something she'd never thought she would do since even now she thought her words were pretty much embarrassing and weird.
"Such an encounter like that hit you, huh? I guess I'm glad I was part of your experience," Harry said, smiling at her delightedly. "You don't know how not often it is for guys to hear that, and a guy always wonders, always wants to know... if they ever made someone feel that way."
"You definitely have that impact. Just know that."
And you made it such a good one. I'll never forget that feeling you made me feel for you.
"Did you come alone that day?" Harry wondered.
"Oh..." Would she have to tell him that she wasn't? Mentioning Casey in a way now was such a different feeling for her, especially when she would have to tell it to her former crush. She attempted to meet his eyes while not feeling sheepish. "I was with Casey. I went to go get us some treats while he needed a little time alone."
Harry grabbed an English muffin with a banana spread on top then sent her a what do you know smile. "Even then you were with him. What a lucky lad." He laughed.
It wasn't like she could tell him the real reason, so she just kept up with a smile. "Y-yeah..."
"Are you happy with him right now?"
That was a question that just felt so sudden just because Snow didn't have to think of it. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she knew what the response would turn out like. "I'm happy."
"Then I'm happy for you. It's a good look on you," he said.
Her smile turned wider at him, and if it was possible, her eyes looked at him with adoration. He just had the right kind of words that were pleasing to the ears in the sweetest kind of way.
She was lucky that she could try to find it in her to still talk to him as he would with her. All her crushes didn't last that long after they fade out.
Harry looked at Snow with a contemplative look for a while and then he said, "If Casey breaks your heart, I'll go kick his tush."
He smiled as an afterthought as though it'll be innocent when she doubted that. He looked like he could be plotting something under her nose.
But she appreciated that gesture coming from him and tried not to let out a chortle. "You have my full permission."
An hour passed of their little friendly date, and they ate most of their food. Snow's stomach was to the point where she was almost blowing up; she rubbed it in satisfaction, thinking that it was one of the best breakfasts she ever had in her life.
She stopped to look over at Harry as she tilted her head thoughtfully and watched the sun rays beaming a golden light to his blonde hair, making his hair lighter and a softer feel than it already appeared. Whenever Snow looked at him, she shied under his gaze and had a look of wanting for him, something intense that she wanted to be lost with him. Now she looked at him in a mere wondrous feeling like she just want to enjoy his presence around more. To make a relationship and coming in pieces like a beautiful connection.
As a person to another person. Someone who could pass in her life but never really goes away even if something else differed than originally planned.
Maybe, hopefully. I'll just enjoy looking at him as to how he is, she thought to herself simply.
He turned to her gaze. "So how do you like our second date?"
"With you, I enjoy it," Snow said with a smile. "You made it great."
"Hmm..." Harry turned his chin at her with a perplexed expression as though something wasn't quite right. "Not the best?"
This boy had a charm that was hard to resist that Snow couldn't fight off a smile that threatened to come to her lips. "What more is there to add?"
He looked all around him in a search for something. "Hold on," he said. She sat curiously as she watched him. His gaze was so focused and intent that for a second, he looked attractive, not just the way he looked but for his actions that spoke for him.
It wasn't until he plucked something nearby. And then he showed it to her. "Here we go. For you." A yellow dandelion was out for her as he was offering it.
Snow immediately had her heart racing in speed at the sight. Both hands instantaneously hit against her own chest where her heart was. She fell quickly of how pure his actions were. "Oh my, that's so thoughtful."
"Only for the beautiful Snow. It'll die soon, but for the moment just enjoy how it looks."
She grabbed the flower from him, twirling it in her hands and admiring what he had just done. It couldn't go unnoticed until he knew how great his small actions were. The way he passed on happiness was something of a great trait of his.
She scooted a tad closer and tilted her head up as she leaned into him and gave Harry a small peck on the cheek. "Thank you, Harry."
He chuckled, looking away from her for a few seconds. "Now, how about that?"
"Okay, you proved your point." She laughed carefreely.
With the two of them that shared sweet smiles to each other, that moment was indescribable, a heavenly bliss. Snow and Harry ended up being fine, and perhaps that's the way it is with good ones, they will always have a small place in your heart.

Whoa, hello. An unexpected update from me? Yes, aha. I finally got around to writing this third bonus chapter. How do you like this surprise chapter? Just for the record, it's okay to go hang out with people and have a good time with them as long as you keep things friendly and cute, hehe.
Do you like this growing pairing of Snow and Harry? I want to write them as one of those people who will have a friendly relationship despite what outcome it is between them. I didn't plan they'll be this way, but... I thought it over and decided that Harry should have some kind of role playing in Snow's life other than just a passing crush, so they're just cute kind of friends who shared things in common. Like sometimes he'll come around, and if/when things go by too long, one will think about the other and attempt to catch up with how's it going.
Maybe some of you may miss my writing and want to see other ideas come alive. Good news because they'll be coming soon. I'm going to finally put some work into gear and get the brain going. Old and new story ideas are working. I'll decide which one I'll work on a little more because committing to one full story at a time is ideal unless everything is thought out and through.
So one more bonus chapter will come when I update them, and then... we say goodbye fully? This story is going to be history, but they'll always stay, so you can revisit them whenever you want whether you want to read again for their full story or just some certain chapters or parts you like to have for yourself. Will I miss these characters? Absolutely. I hope you readers will too.
Please vote and comment as it means the world to me.
