Ouch!

I don't know what sleepover experiences others have had, but whenever I have had a sleepover or slept over at someone else's house, it involved laying on the floor in a sleeping bag or on a bunch of blankets I brought downstairs and a pillow or two. Sleepovers are fun and often involve staying up until early hours to snack, watch a movie, play games, or maybe even all three. I've always wondered why adults don't have sleepovers. After all, adults never seem fun to little kids. How can they not eat tons of candy?! Why don't they want to sleep on the floor and watch movies until the wee hours of dawn?! As I've aged and become a full-fledged adult, I think I know the answer to such questions as these, and the simple answer is that we physically can't do these things. When you become an adult, it becomes hard to do things like sleeping on the floor, even with pillows, or eating a ton of sweets or staying up late.

As a disclaimer, I've never actually been one of those kids who could stay up until 7am and then sleep the whole day away. The latest I've ever managed was 4 am. So now my "staying-up-late-time" is limited to 11/midnight.

I didn't how physically difficult it could be to sleep on the floor until I got older. My side hurts in the morning! Plus, if I lay chest-down on the floor, I actually have to get up slowly otherwise I'll hurt all 12 of my ribs! Of course, every adult is different, but I can imagine that a lot of adults must find old activities really hard to do what with changing bodies and circumstances. I completely understand why people my age or older don't do sleepovers anymore!
