You know, when I was seven, I used to plot to buy the school and run it.

I'm being dead serious. I remember discussing it with my old friend (who was extremely jealous and insisted she be my only friend, but that's another story). We had plans to save up money and then go to the principal to buy the school out, then we'd put kids in charge and make the school fun, like Kindergarten or pre-school. Of course, that never happened as you've already figured. I just went on through school as normal and then my clingy friend moved to a different classroom and decided to completely ignore me. (Which knowing her, makes no sense).

Although, now that I think about it, when I was seven, I had four second grade teachers and while two of them were really nice, the main two were horrible  to me! (My main teacher and my science teacher). Thinking back on it, I'm starting to wonder if that's how that idea first formed.....
