Four years later and I still found myself sobbing into Mickey's chest while Jay threatened to kill him. At first I was confused with the pain in my chest, thinking he was sleeping with some slut in the pack, but later on Chaos had explained the pain is simply the mate bond. Mate's weren't made to be apart, and my 'mate' and I have been apart longer than any mated pair in the records. So on the bright side we've not only broken hearts, we've broken records! This got to my darker side of humor, making me calm down from crying long enough to tell the boys to go to bed. You can say since I've moved to the Black Fable pack, I've been spoiled. I went from sleeping by myself in a shitty one room apartment, to never being by myself in a roomy pack house that allowed me a king bed. Ever really stepped up to the part of being a best friend. She was by my side all the time, and when she was busy I still had Jay and Mickey. The three of them really helped with me not relapsing into self harm, but depression was always there. I don't think it will go away anytime soon, especially with this reminder. God I hope he is in as much pain as I am. It's his fault we're like this.
When morning had come around I hadn't remembered falling asleep causing me to suddenly sit up. This scared Mickey awake, causing him to fall of the bed with a shout. The chain reaction continued with Jay grabbing me protective while alseep, then ended with me laughing so hard I snorted.
"Goddamnit Rebel, I seriously hate you sometimes. Why you gotta do this to me, huh?" Mickey groaned, getting up from the wood floor.
"Well, we needed to get up anyways. We have band practice early today." I say, getting out of bed and walking to my closet.
We all got dressed and met up in the kitchen to get some snacks for practice. These snack mainly consisted of chips, sodas, hard candy, suckers, and a few gummy octopus that were left over from a pool part two days ago. I called dibs on those as soon as we made it to the band room and set everything down, but as soon as I picked them up Chaos called for an impromptu meeting. The boys and I groaned but grabbed our chosen snack and made our way to the backyard.
Sounds a bit cliché, yeah a bunch of werewolves meeting in the backyard, possibly preparing for a war. No our pack is pretty chill, we don't have wars, we meet in the backyard simply because our pack house isn't a mansion, also because Chaos and Ever invested in super comfy chair, couches, and beanbags that fit 3 people. When in the backyard I layed down in a said beanbag and made myself comfortable. As soon as the pack settled Chaos began to speak.
"Many of you have not been told but our territory has been taken. I did not want to worry you guys earlier because I wasn't sure if it was really going to happen. The territory is going to go to YellowBirtch and seeing as they needed the land for expansion, we are not welcome to join," he paused and let the chatter die down before he looked directly at me. "Alpha Xavier has welcomed us to join him, but you are all free to move elsewhere. Please keep me updated with what you decide to do and begin packing."
I didn't notice anybody leave in my state of shock. The chance of seeing him. I couldn't. I just can't.
The twins snapped me out of it by taking my gummies and mock eating them. Snatching them back and huffing out a growl. Chew gummy, swallow, take a deep breath. I continued this until I felt calm enough to speak, "So I take it band practice is cancelled and the entire pack needs to pack?"
Chaos looked over at me and nodded. "Yes. If everybody could do so, the sooner the better. And Rebel? I know your history with Xavier's pack is worse than stellar, but please come with us there until we can find a more permanent place."
Panic started to settle in as I thought about having to go back. Over thinking it, I muttered a yes and ran off, shifting into my brown wolf. The twins knew better than to come after me, they just wait until I feel comfortable enough to come back on my own.
I know I need to get packing and reassure the pack I'm okay, but tonight would be a long night out in the forest. I let out a short howl to reassure those waiting for me that I'm still near.
