Chapter Thirty-Eight
[UNEDITED]
*Parker's POV:*
I reached the East Border in a matter of 10 minutes.
"What's going on?" I asked the one in charge of the scouting shift at this side of the pack.
He turned to me and bowed. "Alpha, there seem to be more rogue ms tonight. This time it's different, the aren't trying to hide, as if they want us to know they are there."
I then get a mind-link from the west. 'Alpha there are rogues surrounding the border. More than usual.'
I got more mind-links from the other borders right after.
This was all planned by the Rogue King. There's no doubt about it. One thing was on my mind. I needed to get to Jasmine.
I began barking orders. "Triple the scouting! Make sure no rogue enters my territory," I growled.
I then shifted to my wolf and sprinted home. I hoped she listened to me and didn't wander into the woods.
I shifted back into my human form and ran up the steps of the porch of our house. I stopped midway when I noticed keys in the lock. I pushed the door open, my heart pounding in my chest. All the lights were off and everything seemed just like it was left, no trace of anyone being in here.
She was here but didn't go inside. I could smell her scent on the porch but it was barely there. I tried to feel for her wolf through our bond but I got nothing. I sprinted into the woods.
"Jasmine!?" I called out for her frantically. I couldn't live for myself if she got taken by the Rogue King. There wasn't a response except for the bird leaving a tree.
I spent three hours searching the woods for her. I had the pack search for her in our territory, including the human towns.
There wasn't a single trace of her anywhere. How could that have been possible for her to just disappear. I left her for about an hour and she's gone.
I felt a stray tear slide down me cheek. Once it fell, more followed. I couldn't stop them. I didn't care if people thought crying makes you weak.
I lost my mate, someone that I love, and I'm going to do everything to get her back in my arms.

*Jasmine's POV:*
My head pounded as I slowly opened my eyes, adjusting to the light...or what little light there was.
I groaned as I sat up, my back aching. That's when I realized I was in a cell. A very small cell that smelled like something died in it. There wasn't any windows, so I couldn't tell what time of day it was. I was chained to the wall by silver chains, which dug into my flesh.
Where the hell was I?
I tried to stand up, but my legs felt like jelly. With a frustrated sigh, I sat down and tried to ignore the burning from the silver, but it was too much. I grit my teeth and bit my lip to keep me from screaming out in pain.
The sound of the metal door being unlocked caught my attention. A guy about my age, maybe a bit older, walked in carrying a tray.
I shot him a glare which he just ignored. He placed the tray in front of me.
"Eat up," he muttered.
I looked at what was on the tray. It looked like stale bread and something that resembled soup. sure didn't smell good at all.
I scowled at him. "No thanks. For all I know you could be poisoning me."
He rolled his eyes at me. "Maybe, but you need to eat in order to survive this place."
Instead of eating the food, I decided to question him. "What do you want from me?"
"I don't want anything from you," he scoffed. "I just deliver your food."
"Fine, then what does the Rogue King want from me?"
"He wants you to bear his children," he replied.
I shivered in disgust. "Why?"
He just shrugged. "Dunno. Don't care either. I'm only doing this for his protection."
"Why would you want protection from someone who's willing to take down a whole pack in order to steal the Alpha's mate and mate with her?"
I didn't get a response. Instead, he pushed the tray closer to me and left.

What felt like hours passed until someone else came into the room. This time there were two, well-built men dressed in camouflage pants and black shirts. I also noticed the weapons they carried attached to their belts.
Once they reached me, they grabbed my by the wrists, not reacting to the silver. It was then I realized they were hunters.
Dakota was right. The Rogue King had gotten hunters on his side. How was that even possible. Rogues, more specifically the king, were the last kind of werewolves hunters would want to be associated with.
One yanked my head back while the other pulled out a syringe with purple liquid in it. Wolfsbane. Without another moment wasted, he plunged the long needle into the base of my neck. I hissed in pain, my vision blurring for a few moments before returning to normal. The little energy I had slowly started draining away, leaving me limp.
Both of the men unchained me, then lifted me up to my feet and hauled me out of the room. They pushed me through the long corridor, passing other cells that didn't look as closed off and disgusting as mine. I noticed that werewolves weren't the only ones held captive here, but other supernatural creatures as well.
My eyes caught one cell in particular. I shoved the hunters off, with little strength but still managed, and peaked into the cell. There I saw familiar blond hair.
"Hannah?" I called out to her. She looked up from the ground and her eyes went wide. She got up quickly and ran to the bars.
"Jasmine!" She cried.
"What have they done to you? Where's your pack?" I asked her hurriedly as I felt hands grab me and began pulling me back.
She began to cry. "They killed them. All except Kyle. I don't know where they took him." Her face was dirty and her tears left clean streaks. Her clothes were ripped, basically just hanging cloth, and her skin looked extremely pale.
The hunters pushed me away from Hannah and kept moving. After what felt like forever, we reached another room which was guarded. One of the hunters left me and went into the room. After a while he came back out.
"He's ready for her."
I was pushed into the room and the door closed behind me. Slowly I turned around, adjusting to the new light. I was greeted by a man leaning against a desk. He had tousled, midnight-black hair and icy blue eyes, which were staring straight at me. He was definitely well-built and muscular, probably about Parker's age, and carried a smirk on his plump lips.
"Hello Jasmine. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I've heard so many things about you," he greeted me, his voice deep and smooth. He had an intimidating aura around him that could make anyone cower back in fear.
"I wish I could say the same for you," I replied cooly.
He pushed himself away from his desk and walked towards me.
"Don't touch me," I hissed at him, clenching my firsts.
He let out a chuckle. "Well aren't you a feisty one," he commented.
He lifted my chin. "Beautiful, just like they said." He then looked me up and down. "Strong as well. Parker's got himself a lovely mate."
"There's no way I'm having your child. Find someone that isn't me."
The Rogue King chuckled again, "Sorry, but you're out of luck, Chérie. I want you and I'm going to have you."
He trapped me against the door. "Now, you can either do as I say, or, I'll make sure harm comes to your family. Oh, and lets not forget your poor 'big-bad-alpha' of a mate. I'm sure he's sick and worried about you. Then again, he'll probably realize that he can have any woman he wants. One that is pure. One that hasn't had such a disgusting past," he taunted in a low tone.
I felt a lump form in my throat, making it incredibly difficult to speak. "H-How do you know about that?" I asked shakily.
He smirked. "I have my ways." He twirled my hair around his finger. "Now, what would it be? You or everyone you love?"
I gulped. I knew what the Rogue King was capable of and that he'll do anything to get what he wants.
"If I let you have me, leave Parker and my family out of this. Leave their packs alone and keep your dumb ass rogues away," I said strongly. There is not way I'm letting him get his dirty hands on the ones I love.
"You have yourself a deal, Chérie," he replied, crossing his arms over his chest.
Just then the door opened and two men came in. I felt my jaw drop as I recognized one of them.
There, standing in all his glory, was Kyan.
His eyes locked with mine and I scowled at him. "Worthless son of a bitch. Of course you're a hunter," I snapped.
He smirked, "Nice to see you, too. And I'm not just a hunter."
He traced his finger along my jaw, "I'm the leader of the hunters."
So many questions flowed through my head. Mostly how and when did this happen. So I guess Kyan was the idiot who decided to make a deal with the Rogue King, who will betray him.
"Don't touch me," I hissed at him, swatting his hand away.
"Long time no see, Jamie. And how's that mate of yours? Still trying to run from him?" Kyan asked me while walking around me towards the Rogue King. The other man who walked in with Kyan looked to be in his 50s with slight gray hair mixed in with his dark brown hair.
He leaned back against the door, his green eyes staring at me with hatred. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"So you're Parker's mate?" he finally asked.
"I thought it was already clear," I retorted.
He didn't say anything but cross his arms over his chest. I turned my attention back to the two others in the room, who were having a conversation in a low tone.
"I need you and Jared to take Jasmine to the room," the Rogue King told Kyan. He nodded and turned to me, grabbing me by the upper arm.
Kyan shoved me out of the room and Jared followed us out. We went into a new room where the lights were off. When Jared turned the lights on, a gasp escaped my mouth.
Kyle was slumped on the floor, covered in cuts and blood, sweat dripping down his face. He looked up and gave Kyan a look full of hatred.
"Kyle?" I called out to him. His eyes shifted over to me and they softened a bit.
Kyan left my side and walked over to Kyle, standing right in front of him. "Have you decided whether or not to tell me what you know?"
Kyle scowled at him. "Over my dead body," he spat.
"Sorry, brother, but that wasn't the answer I was looking for," Kyan responded with mock sadness. He then threw his fist, hitting Kyle square in the jaw.
Kyle slumped to the ground. He looked really exhausted, like he was on the verge of being unconscious. Kyan then turned to Jared.
"You know what to do, I'll leave you to it," he said before walking to the door.
Jared pulled me towards the other side of the room where there was a chair. He shoved me down onto the chair, and with gloved hands, tied me to the chair with ropes with pieces of silver.
"What the hell are you doing?" I grit my teeth as the silver touched my skin.
Instead of answering my question, he asked me one instead. Well, more like demanded. "Did Parker ever mark you?"
"Does it look like it?" I snapped. My neck was visible and as far as I'm aware, there wasn't a mark there.
"Watch that mouth of yours," he narrowed his eyes at me. He looked at me for a moment. "Did you mark him?"
I scoffed at him, "I can't believe this. You tie me up to a chair just to ask me about Parker and I."
His eyes stayed narrowed at me. "You did, didn't you."
I didn't really see what the problem was. It was normal for Alphas' mates to mark them. "What's the problem about it?"
"If a Luna marks an Alpha before he marks her, that means the bond will be even harder to break than it would if the Alpha marked her first. The bond will be stronger once both have marked each other. More stronger than any other mate bond. Because you have marked him first, your wolf can communicate with his even if you are poisoned with wolfsbane. Which means he might already know where you're at."

Yes! Two updates in one week. I feel so proud.
I hope you guys liked this chapter. It was kind of difficult to write because I couldn't really remember what happened before.
I've been requested to make a recap of what has happened. So I might do that.
