Chapter One: First Day
CHAPTER ONE:
FIRST DAY
~PRESENT DAY~
I grinned as I ran down the stairs, throwing my bag over my shoulders. I entered the kitchen, panting like a maniac. Let me introduce myself. I'm a she-wolf from the Blood moon pack. I have chocolate brown hair, ocean blue eyes, and pale skin. I shifted a few weeks ago, on my sixteenth birthday. My wolf her name is Alexandrite and it's a long name, I know, but I still love her. She has white fur with a little bit of brown. She's beautiful.
"Morning Mom," I kissed Mom's cheek.
"Good morning sweetheart," Mom smiled cheekily.
My Mom is human and my Dad is a werewolf. I'm glad I'm one too, you know. I also have a protective big brother, Mark. Mark is the soon to be Beta of our pack. I also have a beautiful little sister, Ashley. Ashley's just four years old, so we don't know yet if she's human or wolf.
'Good morning, sweetheart,' Alexandrite said.
'Good morning, Alex,' I greeted back.
"Have you told Skyler that you'll be going to school?" Mom asked and I nodded.
Skylar has been my best friend for two years now, ever since I've joined this pack of course. He's seventeen and I just turned sixteen.
I smiled to myself as I took a bite of my chocolate chip pancakes. I moaned lowly to myself, making my mother chuckle. I had to admit, my Mom was the best cook I ever came across in my entire life.
"Hey, you idiot," Mark said as he kissed my forehead and took a bite of my pancake.
"Good morning and that was mine," I whined.
He just shrugged and poked my forehead. Jerk. He sat on the other side of the table and smirked at me. You know, sometimes I ask myself how I got such a cocky and idiotic brother.
"Ready to go?" Mark asked when he saw that I was nearly done with my breakfast. I nodded as I shoved the rest of my pancake in my mouth, making me feel like some sort of human vacuum.
I put the plate in the sink and drank a glass of water. I gave mom a kiss on her cheek, ruffled Ashley's hair, and kissed her forehead, "Bye honey."
"Bye Faayy!!" Ashley said cheerfully.
I giggled and kissed her cheek again before following Mark to the garage hopping in his car.
"So, goldfish, what are you doing after school?" he asked starting the car.
"Nothing, why?" I asked, ignoring the fact that he just called me a goldfish.
"No, I wanted to ask you if you wanted to go to Billy's today. I want you to meet someone." he scratched the back of his head nervously, as if I'm going to say no.
Billy's is a small diner in town. It's our 'secret' hide out as you may say it. It was our favorite spot to hang out.
"Okay, sure." I kissed his cheek and he narrowed his eyes at me.
I kept wondering who he wanted me to meet. I looked at him as he pulled out of the driveway and started driving me to school.
Mark was going to skip school today, because he has a pack meeting to attend. The alpha ordered him to be there. Honestly, I never saw the Alpha, his mate, nor his son, who is the soon to be Alpha. I always wondered what they look like.
Finally after a silent ride, Mark stopped in front of the school and I stepped out of the car after saying goodbye.
I sighed and entered the school in search for my locker. I tossed my books into my locker and turned around to find Skylar right behind me.
"SKYLAR!" I shrieked and jumped on him, pulling him into a bone-crushing hug. I heard him chuckle as he hugged me back.
"Well, a good morning to you too," he said as he put me back on my two feet.
"I missed you!" I hugged him tightly once again.
"I missed you too, marshmallow." I chucked at the name he gave me. He calls me marshmallow since the day I choked on a marshmallow, while watching Scream 2.
"Guess what, we have two classes together for today. And I want you to meet someone."
"Why does everyone want me to meet someone today? Even Mark wants me to meet someone," I frowned to myself.
"I kind of, found my mate." he smiled sheepishly.
My eyes grew wider when I heard what he just said. Skylar had been whining for days over his mate. He kept annoying me through text, telling me how he hated couples. Fucking werewolves, I tell you.
"Finally!" I grinned. "What's her name? Is she human? Is she from our school? How old is she? Oh, is she a—" I wanted to ask him more, but he cut me off.
"Calm down woman!" He laughed. "Her name is Stella, and yes, she's from our school, and she is a werewolf, just from another pack," I nodded in understanding.
"Let's go meet her," I nodded and he lead me down a couple of hallways, before reaching our final destination.
We walked into an empty classroom, where I saw a girl with baby pink hair sitting on one of the desks. I heard Skylar clearing his throat and she turned around.
She smiled and walked over to us. Sky wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her forehead, making her smile.
Both of them turned to me and we went into a comfortable silence that lasted for a couple of seconds until Skylar spoke up.
"So, Faith," he cleared his throat, "This is my mate, Stella."
I smiled as I turned my head towards Stella. She had, as I mentioned before, baby pink hair and hazel eyes. A light amount of make-up on and a bright smile.
"Hi, I'm Faith. Skylar's best friend."
She smiled, "Hey, it's nice to meet you."
I looked at Skylar and then back at Stella, "When did you guys meet?" I asked confused, because I couldn't remember Skylar going anywhere except for that two week vacation in Hawaii.
"So, you remember that day I told you I'm going for a vacation to Hawaii?" he asked and I nodded. "Well, we met at the hotel when I arrived. I was walking towards my room with Jenneth and that's when the most awesome smell hit me. I followed the smell and it lead me to a door. Just as I was going to knock on the door, Stella opened."
He smiled at me. I looked at Stella, who was hiding her face in the crook of Skylar's neck, blushing like crazy.
"Well, congrats, both of you. You guys have no idea of how cute you are together." I smirked.
I saw Stella's cheeks getting redder, if it was even possible. The bell rang and we headed to our class. Stella, Skylar and I had the same class together. English.
I took our seats and focused on the teacher, until Alexandrite started talking to me again.
'You know, I wonder when we are going to meet our mate,'
'Be patient. We're going find him soon. Don't worry darling. We'll find him soon.'
I snapped out of it when I heard the bell ring. "Having conversations with Alexandrite again, I see." Skylar teased.
"Yeah, leave me and my baby alone." I pointed at him, a playful smile playing on my lips.
He pulled his hands up in surrender and shook his head, "I never touched you guys."
"Whatever." I muttered as I walked to my next class.
*_*_*_*
I ran to Mark's car when I saw him waiting on the side of the road.
"Hi!" I said, gasping for air.
"Hey, goldfish. How was school?"
"School was great. How was the pack meeting?"
"It was fine, I guess." he said and I noticed the worried expression he was wearing. I hated it when he kept things from me.
"Why, what happened?" I asked, placing a hand on his shoulder. I felt him relax under my touch.
"Nothing important. It's just that there were some Rogues spotted on the territory, while some guys were patrolling. And since I am the strongest fighter after the Alpha, I have to patrol at the border for a few nights."
"Don't worry. Were there any caught?"
"No, Alec almost caught one, but I don't know how he escaped from him. I really don't know what they're doing on our land, and I don't know what they want." he sighed in frustration.
I kissed his forehead to assure him that everything will be alright, "Don't worry, we'll find them, and we'll find out what they want too. And please, I don't want you to stress yourself out like last time."
"You're right," he said. Last time he was so stressed out, that he broke the dining table into two pieces. Since that day, I noted to stay away from him whenever he's angry or stressed.
"Now let's go to Billy's. Don't want the mystery person to wait too long, right?" I said and he smirked.
"Right," he nodded and he started driving to Billy's.
"Who's Alec?" I asked all of a sudden.
"Alec is the soon to be Alpha, idiot," he smiled. I nodded.
He drove to the diner and parked the car. We hopped out and entered the cozy building.
Mark looked around and smiled when he saw something or someone. I turned my head to the direction he was looking at and spotted a girl with blonde, curly hair waving at us.
We walked to the girl and sat down, "Sorry, we got late, babe." he scratched the back of his head nervously.
Babe? Is she his mate?
Mark answered the question as if he just read my mind, "Faith, this is my mate, Stacy. We met yesterday while I was patrolling. She was walking in the forest all by herself and she's Alec's little sister."
I started at them. I never knew Alec, the soon to be Alpha, had a little sister.
"Hi, I'm Faith." I said happily.
"Hi, nice to meet you." she smiled sweetly.
"So, ladies, what do you guys want?" Mark asked all of a sudden.
"Just a coke," I said.
"Same," Stacy said and Mark nodded. He then walked to get our drinks.
Stacy looked at me, "You're very beautiful." she complimented.
"Thank you. You too." I blushed.
After a short chat, Mark came back with our drinks, and for the next half hour, we just sat there, talking about the most unnecessary rubbish ever.
I was happy Mark and Skylar found they mates and I wished that I would find mine soon too.
