GABRIELAS POV

It has been two years since I left the pack lands after Selena accepted Angelo's rejection, I have made some new friends along the way to what is now my new home. With the money that my grandparents had left me I bought a house and was working at a dinner where I met Trisha and Mateo who are mates and are expecting their first pup, they moved in with me after they said that they didn't have anywhere to go. I got Mateo a job with me at the dinner and Trisha was at home since she would be giving birth to her pup soon and we didn't want her to be working when she went into labor, when I was done with my shift I left and went home while Mateo stayed to do a double shift.

When I got home Trisha was sitting on the living room sofa, I went and sat next to her and started to watch the tv with her until the phone rang. I picked it up and started to shake while tears started to roll down my face, I hung up and looked at Trisha and as soon as she looked at my eyes she started to cry. We got into the car and I drove to the hospital were Mateo was taken after some rouges had attacked the dinner where we worked killing almost everybody there, Mateo was one of the ones that was alive when the emergency services got there. When we got to the hospital we were told to wait in the waiting room, after a few minutes of waiting the doctor came in and told us that Mateo didn't make it. As soon as those words left her mouth Trisha's water broke and she was rushed to a delivery room, I stood next to her and held her hand while the doctor got everything ready to deliver the pup.

"Gaby promise me that if something happens to me you will take care of my pup" Trisha said

"I promise but you will be okay, you have to" I said

"Okay Trisha lets get this little one out, when you feel the next contraction I want you to push as hard as you can" the doctor said

Trisha must have pushed for about thirty minutes until she pushed her pup out, I went with the pup and stayed with her until she was placed in my arms and I took her to Trisha. I placed her in Trisha's arms until a nurse said that she needed to take her to the nursery to get her cleaned up properly and finish getting all her vitals done, Trisha asked me to go with her pup and stay with her no matter what and to never forget my promise. I walked with the nurse to the nursery and they showed me how to change her diaper as well as how to bath her and change her into some warm clothing, when I was given the baby I saw the doctor walk in to the nursery and told me that Trisha had killed herself but not before putting my name down as the baby's mother so no one could take her from me. I started to cry because in just a few hours I had lost two of my friends, when the doctor asked me what I was going to name the baby I said that I was going to name her Esperanza Florez Sanchez.

I was told that I could claim Mateo and Trisha's body in the morning so I could bury them when ever I wanted, I told the doctor if she could just cremate them so I could scatter their ashes where they met by the ocean shore near our house. She said that she could do that and have their ashes and Esperanza's paper work ready within a few hours, I asked the nurse if I could leave Esperanza there so I could go and buy the formula, diapers, wipes, diaper bag and some clothing for Esperanza to which she said that I could and that she would call me if anything came up. I went to the store close to the hospital and got everything I needed for Esperanza before going back to the hospital and directly to the nursery where I saw my baby girl fast asleep, the doctor came up to me and asked me to follow her so I could sign some papers so that I could take the ashes of my friends and Esperanza home with me.

After I signed all the papers I was told that I could take Esperanza home with me, I placed her in her car seat and got help taking her out to my car as I was carrying Mateo and Trisha's ashes in one hand while I had the diaper bag in the other. When I had everything in the car and I had made sure that Esperanza was well placed on the base of the car seat I started to head to the house, I took Esperanza to her room before grabbing the ashes of my friends and the baby monitor and walked outside to the ocean shore where I started to scatter their ashes on the water while I cried my eyes out. When I was finished scattering their ashes on the water I went back into the house and straight up to Esperanza's room and checked on her, when I saw that she was still asleep I went to my room and took a shower and changed into some pajamas before going to feed Espy her bottle and changing her diaper before going to sleep.
