Unmasking the Deceivers

In the hospital, Swara whipped out her phone with glee when she spotted Adarsh and Kavita snuggling up together. 'I was dying to show Sanskar their true colors, but I never thought I'd catch them red-handed so soon,' she mused, hitting record on the camera.

"Adarsh, why did you come here? If anyone catches us together, we'll be in serious trouble," Kavita said with a teasing smile.

"Relax. I timed my visit for the dead of night to avoid getting caught. I couldn't stand knowing you were in so much pain."

Adarsh's concern was genuine; his worry for Kavita's health was written all over his face.

"Calm down, darling. The poison was in a small enough dose that it wasn’t dangerous."

"What? How do you know that? Wait, did you do this to yourself just to set up Swara?" Adarsh asked in disbelief. Kavita nodded, confirming his fears.

"This is perfect! I got this deceitful woman's confession on tape. Time to show this video to Sanskar and take care of these two losers," Swara muttered with a satisfied grin, eyeing the shameless pair through the door's window as she kept recording.

"Kavita, how could you do this? Can you even fathom what I went through watching you suffer?" Adarsh said, his tone laden with sorrow.

"I apologize for not confiding in you before executing my plan, but I needed to act to trap Swara, and it paid off."

"You cunning little wolf," Adarsh said with a proud grin, gently kissing Kavita's lips. "But no matter how brilliant you are, you must promise never to harm yourself again. Do you understand?"

Adarsh's sincere concern for Kavita moved her deeply, as it was the first time he had shown such profound care and affection.

She nodded. "Okay, I promise I won't. By the way, how did the big boss take it? Is he pleased now?"

"Who is this big boss they’re talking about? A friend, or perhaps an accomplice? I don't remember anyone like that from my past life. So, who is this new player? Is someone really lurking in the shadows?" Swara muttered to herself, rubbing her forehead in frustration.

"The big boss is over the moon. If Sanskar and Swara break up, Sanskar will be emotionally vulnerable, and his power will diminish. That’s when we can turn the situation to our advantage," Adarsh said with excitement.

"Do you really think this will work, given that Sanskar still cares about Swara?"

Kavita remained doubtful about the success of her plan, especially recalling the hospital incident where, despite his mistrust, Sanskar had immediately chased after an enraged Swara.

"Absolutely. Sanskar's sense of justice requires evidence before trusting Swara, and her current demeanor will only become more volatile under his suspicion. Keep your family actively fueling the conflict. Once you're by his side, the big boss has ordered us to move forward with the next phase of his grand plan," Adarsh said with enthusiasm, and Kavita responded by pulling him into a kiss.

"Oh, my mate is simply amazing..." Kavita exclaimed, her words trailing off as Adarsh deepened the kiss.

'It looks like there's a puppet master pulling the strings behind the scenes. So, Adarsh and Kavita are just playing someone else's game?' Swara muttered, massaging her temples in confusion.

'But who the heck is this hidden nemesis, and why can't I recall any memory of them? As per Adarsh and Kavita's talk, it seems like they're someone close to us yet driven enough to plot against Sanskar's life. Who would manipulate Adarsh and Kavita like this?' Swara wondered aloud, frustration creeping into her voice.

'It seems there are still skeletons hidden in the closet that I need to uncover first. Now's not the time to expose Adarsh and Kavita's true colors.'

"Sanskar, please, I request that you spare Kavita. After all, she is the mate of your brother, Beta Adarsh." Swara pleaded for Adarsh and Kavita with a clear purpose, recalling the conversation she overheard.

"What? Kavita and Adarsh are mates?"

"Kavita Roy is Adarsh's mate, the beta."

"Is that really the case?"

The hall was abuzz with astonished yet gossipy murmurs, promoting Sanskar to raise his hand to quiet them down.

"Beta, can you set the record straight?" Sanskar tilted his head and raised his eyebrows at Adarsh, awaiting an explanation.

Before Adarsh could dismiss it as a rumor or feign ignorance, Swara interjected firmly, "It's undeniably true. Are you still questioning my credibility?" Her words were intentionally emphatic.

"Take a look at this." She retrieved her phone and played a carefully edited video, the concluding segment of her recording, where Kavita referred to Adarsh as her mate just before they kissed. "I anticipated that no one would trust my word again, so I captured them together last night in the hospital."

Swara hit two birds with one stone by revealing the video, not only exposing Adarsh and Kavita's relationship but also finding solace for her wounded heart, leaving Sanskar and the entire pack ashamed for doubting her.

Shame washed over everyone, making them hang their heads, yet Adarsh and Kavita's faces visibly paled as they processed that Swara had caught a glimpse of their conversation, leaving them uneasy about what else she might have overheard or recorded.

'Of course I heard every bit of your conversation and made sure to record it. But it's not time to lay all my cards on the table just yet. You two will eventually lead me to your mysterious mastermind, the so-called big boss,' Swara thought with a cunning smirk, observing Adarsh and Kavita's shocked expressions.

While the video segment was not entirely benign, it carried a little less weight than the full conversation. Adarsh and Kavita could only exhale briefly before Swara's next move left them engulfed in shock and confusion.

"I plead with you, Sanskar, do not punish Adarsh's mate, as it will cause pain to your brother."

Sanskar cast a sharp glance at Kavita and then at Adarsh. "The court is adjourned," he announced sternly. Turning to Laksh, he commanded and beckoned at Adarsh and Kavita, "Bring both of them to my study." With a firm grasp on Swara's arm, he guided her along as he headed towards his study.

Sanskar seethed with anger at the revelation that Kavita was Adarsh's mate and had still attempted to deceive him, and Adarsh's concealment of the truth equated to being an accomplice in the deception.

In Sanskar's office, an impromptu tribunal unfolded: Sanskar sat behind his mahogany desk, flanked by Swara, while Adarsh and Kavita kneeled before them. Behind the pair stood Laksh and two guards; their presence was a stark reminder of the seriousness of the situation.

"Adarsh, when did you find out about your mate?" Sanskar's voice carried a stern edge. "Don't tell me you only discovered it the day before when she fell ill, given how you acted in the hospital. I can vividly recall that it was true mate behavior, but I failed to notice," he warned, indicating he expected the truth.

"I... only found out a few days ago, not much earlier," Adarsh stuttered nervously.

"Then why didn't you stop Kavita from scheming against your Luna? What were you thinking?" Sanskar shouted, his voice booming as he slammed the table so hard that the glass top cracked.

"Will, be careful..." Swara urged, her eyes widening at the sight of blood on his hand.

"I'm alright..." Sanskar reassured her, turning his voice gentler only for Swara. He showed Swara his palm, which had already begun to heal. "Now, answer me," he demanded, his gaze returning to Adarsh, burning with intensity.

"I... I had no idea she was doing any of this," Adarsh stammered, trying to save himself. Kavita was already facing punishment; he couldn't risk going down with her.

"Were you aware that your mate drugged Swara at the party and intentionally poisoned her the next day to scheme against her? Why would she harbor jealousy toward Swara if she's your mate? Haven't you treated her well?" Sanskar thundered, his voice filled with accusation and anger.

Caught between confusion and frustration, he sensed there were concealed truths, but the notion of Adarsh being involved as a criminal was difficult to accept.

"I treated her well, but she was still jealous. I discovered her schemes. I blame myself for not confronting her earlier," Adarsh confessed, his head lowered and sweat beading on his forehead.

"Laksh, if your mate were to attempt harm against your Luna, how would you respond?" Sanskar asked, locking eyes with Laksh.

"Though it would be agonizing, I would have to leave her to face Alpha Sanskar's justice after severing our mate bond," Laksh replied promptly and decisively.

"Sanskar, can't you show them mercy? Adarsh is your own flesh and blood," Swara pleaded earnestly, rooted in her own reasons.

"Very well. It's solely because of Swara, the real victim's impassioned appeal, that I am sparing their lives. However, Adarsh, you will be stripped of your rank, and Kavita can remain by your side after enduring 10 lashes with a silver whip as punishment."
