The Unseen Trap

Kavita and Adarsh, the conniving pair, hatched their wicked scheme against Sanskar and Swara before swiftly returning to their passionate embrace for another round of intimacy. Lost in their lustful desires, they were on cloud nine until Adarsh's phone shattered the moment with its loud ringtone.

Adarsh scowled at the caller ID, tossing the phone aside with little regard before returning to their previous activities. However, his temporary distraction was short-lived as the phone rang once more, the persistent caller remaining the same. Adarsh's reaction remained unchanged; both caller and recipient were equally stubborn, neither willing to yield.

Kavita grew irritated and shoved Adarsh roughly. "Adarsh, can't you deal with that blasted phone already?"

Adarsh lethargically retrieved his phone, lazily propping his hand under his head. However, as he prepared to scold the caller, he noticed a text from his planned spy in Sanskar's mansion: "Beta, please give me a call. It's urgent." Instantly, Adarsh's demeanor changed. While he could ignore Kavita's frustrations, he couldn't disregard his spy's urgent message. With a newfound sense of urgency, he promptly sat up and dialed the spy's number.

"What?"

"What's the matter?"

"Why all of a sudden?"

"What the fuck..." Adarsh yelled into the phone, his panic evident, before angrily hurling it away.

"What's going on?" Kavita asked urgently, sensing Adarsh's agitation.

"It seems Sanskar is on the hunt for the old wizard, Janki," Adarsh replied with annoyance as he quickly dressed.

"What? Why would he be looking for her out of nowhere? What's gotten into him?" Kavita questioned him, joining Adarsh with equal parts curiosity and frustration.

"Who knows. Laksh tried to pry, but that cunning Sanskar kept his lips sealed," Adarsh said with simmering rage.

"What a shrewd bastard!" Kavita muttered under her breath. "By the way, any updates on his search?"

"Nothing yet, and it's impossible to get any information. He's entrusted the task to Swara. That secretive woman won't spill a word to anyone except Sanskar, even if her life depends on it," Adarsh grumbled, frustration evident in his voice.

Janki was the bane of Adarsh's existence, the greatest obstacle to his plans. Her formidable powers meant that, as long as she was by Sanskar's side, he was untouchable. Even Adarsh's parents, the former alpha and Luna, were unbeatable until Janki's influence was in the picture.

Kavita couldn't help but smirk with cunning delight upon hearing that Swara had been tasked with hunting down Janki for Sanskar. In that moment, she swiftly devised a devious plan in her mind.

"If Swara is on the trail of Janki, then I have a plan," Kavita announced, sharing her scheme with Adarsh.

"By doing this, we can not only eliminate Swara but also put an end to her search. Once she's out of the picture, there won't be anyone left capable of tracking down that elusive Lady Wizard who's deliberately concealing her whereabouts. Brilliantly devious, Kavi babes, you're a genius," Adarsh praised, and both erupted into maniacal laughter.

The next day, Kavita orchestrated a deliberate encounter with Swara at the entrance of Sanskar's company, positioning herself and her omegas to block Swara's path.

"Well, well, well, look who it is. Swara, where do you think you're off to in such a hurry?" Kavita remarked, blocking Swara's way and casting her a disdainful glare.

"Kavita, what brings you here?" Swara asked, her surprise evident in her voice.

"Certainly, she's free to come by whenever she likes. It's her beloved boyfriend's company, after all," Kavya replied, stepping in for Kavita.

'Boyfriend? Sanskar, you deceitful jerk. So, it seems you're playing both sides—you want me as your mate to bolster your power while also keeping your ex-flame around,' Swara seethed inwardly, swallowing hard.

"But weren't you supposed to be tied up with a secret task outside the company? How do you suddenly have time to show up here?" Swara countered, a hidden smirk playing on her lips.

"What secret task? What nonsense are you spouting?" Swara was taken aback, her brows furrowing in confusion.

Kavita's smirk widened as she moved closer, her voice dropping to a whisper as she spoke into Swara's ear. "Do you honestly believe I wouldn't know that Sanskar tasked you with hunting down Wizard Janki for him?"

Swara's face paled, her shock evident as she stammered. "How did you learn about that?" Unable to contain her surprise, her words tumbled out.

Kavita's lips curled into a smirk, and a derisive chuckle escaped her as she looked down at Swara. "Of course Sanskar confided in me," she asserted, her eyes gleaming with mockery.

"Impossible..." Swara countered, her confidence faltering. 'Sanskar told me it's a secret, just between the two of us, and Laksh accidentally found out. She must have her own spy,' Swara speculated anxiously.

"That's the truth. Sanskar and I share everything; after all, we're mates," Kavita fabricated with assurance, upholding her guise.

"Mate?" Swara scoffed sarcastically. 'What a boastful lie,' she thought bitterly.

"Mate, really?"

"When did this supposedly happen?"

Kavita's sycophantic friends couldn't contain their excitement. They had been eagerly anticipating this moment, knowing that their many years of flattery were finally about to bear fruit.

"As fate would have it, on the eve of Sanskar's birthday, we discovered that we are destined mates," Kavita lied convincingly, a wide smile on her face.

"That's incredible! Why didn't you mention it sooner?" Kavya inquired eagerly.

"It was Sanskar who chose to keep it under wraps for the time being," Kavita replied smoothly.

"Why?"

"To safeguard me. He's worried about me becoming a target for enemies, considering the many adversaries that come with being the future alpha king."

"Ah, I understand..."

"True, then you shouldn't have shared this with us either, dear," Kavya said, her concern shining through.

"Come on, guys, you're my friends," Kavita said, squeezing Kavya's hand reassuringly.

"Oh, Kavi, you're too trusting and easily swayed," Kavya cautioned, motioning to Swara. "Be vigilant, everyone. Guard this secret with your lives, even from the walls. Swara, I hope you understand the stakes, or else you'll face the alpha's fury," Kavya warned, her tone tinged with menace.

'Damn the alpha and his naive mate. He fed me the same lines, along with his fragile little Luna, who is the strongest she-wolf in reality,' Swara seethed inwardly, growing increasingly irritated by Kavita and her bootlicking dramatics and boasts.

"If there's nothing else, I should be going," Swara stated brusquely, attempting to move past the group, but Kavita obstructed her path again.

"You're not going anywhere until you've completed the task related to the secret mission. Sanskar instructed me to inform you that you must head to the Northern Woods as quickly as possible and provide him with a report," Kavita ordered, assuming the guise of Luna.

"But Sanskar explicitly told me to wait until his return," Swara protested.

"Yes, he may have said that initially, but he has since changed his mind. Now, it's imperative that you complete that task first. Consider it a direct order from your Luna," Kavita asserted firmly.

"I'm sorry, but I cannot obey your orders until you are officially declared Luna of the Crescent Moon pack," Swara retorted confidently. She knew that Kavita couldn't hold any authority over her unless she and Sanskar broke their mate bond, and she refused to yield to someone with no legitimate claim to leadership.

"Then consider it an order from your alpha. You know better than anyone how eager Sanskar is to find Wizard Janki," Kavita interjected promptly. She was keen to dispatch Swara to the Northern Woods, where she had laid a trap to eliminate Swara from the equation, hence utilizing every tactic to persuade her.

'Kavita seems privy to every detail about this task, including Sanskar's eagerness, which couldn't have been relayed by a spy. Perhaps, Sanskar confided in her,' Swara deduced, feeling disheartened.

"Very well..." Swara acquiesced, resigning herself to defeat in the face of Kavita's persistence. 'Sanskar, I clearly overestimated our bond. Your heart belongs solely to Kavita,' Swara lamented inwardly as she ventured deeper into the Northern Woods.

Heartbroken by Kavita's revelation, Swara came to terms with her position and resolved to distance herself from them by immersing herself in her task. Unbeknownst to her, she was venturing into the treacherous depths of the Northern Woods, known as the Black Forest, and the territory of rogue wolves.

"Where am I?" Swara muttered to herself as she checked her phone, only to trip suddenly. "Ahh, ouch..."

She dusted off her dress and looked up, startled to find herself surrounded by numerous green lights, realizing they were the eyes of rogue wolves. Turning to flee, she was stunned to find herself encircled by many of them.

"Alpha Sanskar has no heart, letting a female wizard from his territory wander here alone," a werewolf sneered, joined by laughter from the others.

"He needs to understand the consequences of intruding into our territory," another growled as two of them grabbed Swara while a third advanced on her, ripping at her clothes.

"No!" Swara's scream echoed through the woods.
