Entangled Destinies
As the moonlight illuminated the wet forms of Sanskar and Swara, a delicate silver thread appeared, connecting both of their middle fingers.
"She is our Luna," Parth, Sanskar's inner wolf, exclaimed excitedly, but Sanskar felt a pang of disappointment.
He had anticipated his mate to be not only his long-time girlfriend but also a powerful she-wolf, one who possessed the fire element, ensuring that he and his pack would grow stronger, capable of battling the monstrous vampire king. Instead, his mate turned out to be a weak and timid wizard.
In exasperation, Sanskar called an end to the party and escorted Swara to his room to contemplate his next step in light of the current scenario.
Observing the scene with simmering irritation, Kavita clenched her fists tightly, her meticulously crafted plan now in shambles. She had orchestrated Swara's downfall, intending to drug her and orchestrate compromising situations with some rogues, capturing it all on video to tarnish her reputation.
"How did she end up in the pool with Sanskar?" Kavya, Kavita's accomplice, was questioned, standing beside Kavita and shooting daggers at Sanskar and Swara as they departed.
"That's not the main issue at the moment. What we should worry about is that the bitch is with Sanskar and has been drugged with aphrodisiacs. What do you think will happen?" Tanya said, feigning concern.
"Enough already! Nothing's going to happen. Sanskar is a man of honor. No matter what schemes that woman devises, he won't betray me," Kavita snapped with irritation.
"Can you really be sure? At the end of the day, he's just a man, and let's face it, Swara is quite attractive with her perfectly sculpted figure," Tanya remarked.
"She has a point, Kavita. It wouldn't hurt to keep a close watch on them and ensure Sanskar stays away from Swara," Kavya added.
Kavita paused for a moment, then quickened her pace towards Sanskar's villa. However, upon reaching the living hall door, she was intercepted by a security guard.
"I'm sorry, Miss Roy, but the alpha strictly instructed us not to allow anyone in tonight, let alone disturb him," the security guard explained firmly.
Kavita's shock turned to irritation as she clenched her fists. Unable to defy Sanskar's orders, she begrudgingly turned away, stomping her foot in frustration as she left.
Sanskar sat on the couch across from the bed, lost in thought, his brow furrowed as he frequently rubbed his forehead. Swara stirred awake. With a groggy demeanor, she attempted to rise but faltered.
"Ah, it's too hot..." she mumbled, discarding the comforter and slipping off the thin black lace jacket that adorned her white strapless dress.
"Is she delirious to feel warm after being soaked in cold water in the middle of the night?" Sanskar pondered, rising from the couch to investigate.
"What's troubling you, Swara?" He asked, moving to tuck her in with the comforter, only for her to reject it again.
"Ah, Sanskar..." she exclaimed, tugging him towards her with unexpected force, causing him to stumble and land over her.
"You're so cute..." she giggled, her hands cupping her cheeks as she peered at him with a grin.
"Me? Cute?" Sanskar echoed, puzzled by her behavior. 'What's going on?' he wondered.
"Yes..." she affirmed, bobbing her head playfully as she drew his face closer to hers.
"Swara, release me. Are you out of your mind?" Sanskar struggled to free himself, but she held him tightly, refusing to let go.
"Why resist, Sanskar? She's our destined mate," Parth's voice echoed in Sanskar's mind.
"Shut up, Parth," Sanskar snapped, momentarily distracted, which gave Swara the advantage. With a surge of strength, she pulled him closer and pressed her soft, pink lips against his cold ones.
The following morning, Swara awoke with a pounding headache, her temples throbbing with pain.
"Why does my head feel like it's about to split?" She muttered, rubbing her temples with both hands. Gradually, she began to survey her surroundings, squinting in the dim light. "Where on earth am I?"
As her vision cleared, she took in the unfamiliar room, her eyes widening in disbelief. "How did I manage to wind up in Sanskar Maheshwari's bedroom?"
Swara's heart raced as she scrambled out of bed, hastily pulling the comforter over her nude body as it slipped down. 'How come I am wearing nothing?' she thought frantically, her mind reeling with confusion. Suddenly, she heard a whistle.
"Phew...." She glanced up to see Sanskar leaning against the doorframe, a smirk gracing his lips as he held a glass in his hand.
"What... What are you doing here?" Swara stammered, fear creeping into her voice as she faced Sanskar.
"It could be anywhere, especially in my own digs," Sanskar quipped as he strolled over, placing the glass on the bedside table. "Hangover remedy. You were totally blitzed last night."
Swara's mind scrambled to piece together the events of the previous evening. The heated exchange with Sanskar, the sudden wave of dizziness... and then darkness. She drew a blank.
'Why'd he bring a sloshed chick into his crib?' Swara mused, feeling a mix of irritation and apprehension.
"Then how did I wind up here, and where in the world are my...?" Swara's heart raced as she struggled to find the right words. Even though she was irritated with Sanskar, she felt too shy to ask about her clothes.
"You mean your gear?" Sanskar met her gaze, his eyebrow lifting in question.
Swara simply nodded.
"I stripped 'em clean..."
"What? You sicko..." Swara's voice echoed with shock as she grabbed the nearest pillow and hurled it at him, but he sidestepped effortlessly. "Of all the girls at the party who were probably hammered, why did you pick me?"
"Can't recollect a thing?" Sanskar inquired coolly, disregarding her irritation as he retrieved the pillow and returned it to its original spot.
"Huh?" Swara struggled to piece together the events, but her memory was blank after her head started spinning.
"You were so wasted that you were practically on the brink of passing out. I tried to assist you, but you ended up dragging me into the pool with you. After I got us out, you were completely unconscious, so I had to bring you here." Sanskar explained the events of the previous evening.
"Fallen in the pool? That's rich coming from you. If you hadn't shoved me toward the edge, none of this would have happened." Swara retorted, laying the blame squarely on him.
"You can't handle your liquor, yet you have the nerves to point a finger at your savior. Ungrateful much?"
"Savior, my foot! I can handle my liquor just fine. I have no idea why I got so drunk that I can't recall a damn thing."
"Liar! You don't even remember what you did last night."
Their argument intensified, with Swara's bold retort irking Sanskar enough to reveal only part of the ambiguous truth.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Swara's confusion deepened, her brow furrowing.
"You practically threw yourself at me so hard, even I..." Sanskar's sentence trailed off, leaving the implication hanging in the air, and Swara's heart skipped a beat.
"You mean we...?" Swara's voice trembled with the weight of understanding. Her heart clenched at the thought that she might have shared something so intimate with someone who wasn't her destined partner and might never feel the same way about her.
"Keep pondering..." Sanskar replied enigmatically, just as his phone began to ring.
He noticed "Laksh calling" flash across the screen and swiftly grabbed Swara's last night's dress, tossing it to her. "Get dressed and leave," he commanded before exiting to take the call.
As soon as he left, Swara hurriedly slipped into her clothes, fastened her sandals, and tied up her hair. With determination, she stormed out of Sanskar's room. However, as she was crossing the corridor, a loud noise echoed from in front of Sanskar's study, causing her to halt in her tracks.
"What? Swara is your chosen mate, designated by the moon goddess." Laksh exclaimed in disbelief.
"Yes..." Sanskar confirmed with a grave tone, his words reaching Swara's ears.
"Am I Luna to Alpha Sanskar? How is that even possible?" Swara muttered to herself, her mind reeling from the unexpected revelation.
"This is a dire situation. I don't hold anything against Swara, but she can't fulfill the role of Luna for the Crescent Moon pack," Laksh stated with sincerity.
"I understand," Sanskar replied, lost in his thoughts. 'Even though Swara is fated, she lacks the strength needed to be the Luna for an alpha like me. How can I move forward with my plan to deal with Rajat Shah?'
"What's the plan then? Are you considering breaking the mate bond with Swara and choosing Kavita instead?" Laksh inquired.
"Maybe, I'm not sure..." Sanskar replied with uncertainty.
Sanskar's response hung in the air, leaving Swara's heart in tatters. Unable to bear the weight of his words, she turned away with tear-filled eyes, unable to listen any further.
