Destiny Rewritten

With a gentle breeze, the pink curtain billowed, welcoming the morning sunlight into the cozy bedroom, gently illuminating Swara's serene face as she stirred from her slumber with a start, murmuring, "Ahh, ouch...."

She jolted awake and instinctively ran her hands across her body, a sense of urgency driving her actions as she inspected her flawless skin, searching for any sign of injury.

'No wounds, no blood... How can I be alright?' Her mind raced with confusion as she frantically scanned her surroundings, slowly piecing together the peculiar realization dawning upon her.

"This is the dormitory room where I once lived for a short span around a year ago. How could I be here now after being killed by Kavita?" Swara questioned herself aloud, her voice tinged with bewilderment as she examined her surroundings more intently, hoping to unravel the mystery of her unexpected return.

A sudden realization washed over her as she glanced at the date on the calendar. "April 13th, 2023. It's my birthday, one year ago," Swara exclaimed, her mind racing with possibilities. "Am I reincarnated? It seems I've been given a chance to protect Sanskar from his enemies. Thank you, moon goddess, for this extraordinary opportunity!" she exclaimed, overflowing with gratitude and excitement.

As she hastily prepared for her work, Swara paused in her tracks, seizing her phone as a new realization dawned upon her.

"This... this is the birthday gift Sanskar gave me last night," she murmured, a pang of regret flooding her heart as memories of her past life resurfaced. "But I made a grave mistake when I confessed my love for him. The next day, I was bullied by Kavita and her clique, and Sanskar distanced himself from me," Swara lamented, her voice filled with regret.

"Oh, moon goddess, if you granted me this chance, couldn't you have awakened me a day earlier, before I made that confession?"

Initially, Swara seethed with frustration as memories of her past humiliation flooded back. Yet she summoned her inner strength, determined not to allow anyone to bully her again, even though it remained a daunting task for someone as naturally timid as her.

"Look at her; isn't she bold enough to walk confidently after all this?"

"Bold? She is the biggest idiot I have ever known."

"Right, an idiot to pull such a stunt."

Swara heard a few girls looking at her and gossiping the moment she entered the building of Monte Carlo House, the high-end club of the city, where Swara works part-time.

'Why are they gossiping about me? I don't even recognize them,' Swara wondered momentarily before trying to push past and clear her mind, but her path was blocked by a cluster of girls.

"Ugh, not this again," Swara grumbled under her breath as she spotted the omegas from the Night Shine Pack, always at the beck and call of Kavita, the alpha's daughter.

"Hey, where do you reckon you're heading?"

"Oh, look who's feeling all gutsy, trying to swoop in on Sanskar. Got some big ideas about yourself, huh?"

The rich girls are regular members of the club, who often torment Swara. They encircled her, their comments laced with sarcasm and snark.
Swara exhaled slowly, slinging her bag over her left shoulder before firing back, "And why is that any of your business?"

"Got your tongue, you insufferable bitch."

Their exchange was abruptly interrupted by a sharp, reprimanding voice. Turning, they saw Swara approaching, clad in a sleek red designer dress adorned with limited edition accessories.

"Hey Kavita, check her out. Quite the transformation, huh? Gone from grubby jeans to a fancy dress," one girl remarked, flipping Swara's long hair over her shoulder and exposing her skin in the off-shoulder attire.

"Trying to catch Sanskar's eye with this getup?" Another girl chimed in, tugging at the back of Swara's dress and giving her a shove, causing her to stumble.

"A lowly wizard like you can only fantasize about other people's boyfriends, yet you have the nerve to set your sights on Sanskar. Remember, he's a werewolf, the future alpha of the Crescent Moon pack, and I'm destined to be his Luna. What gives you..."

Kavita's anger boiled over upon discovering Swara's feelings for Sanskar. She was about to unleash her frustration, but Swara cut her off.

"I know all of that, so spare me your pointless diatribe. If there's nothing else, I have better things to do."

"You pathetic excuse for a girl, how dare you cut me off?" Kavita spat, her rage evident as she attempted to slap Swara, only to have her wrist caught in a vice-like grip.

"Let me go!" Kavita struggled against Swara's firm hold, but Swara's grip only tightened, refusing to release her.

"Careful, Kavita, don't stir up trouble," Swara warned, her tone firm but composed.
Kavita was caught off guard, remembering how she used to bully Swara out of jealousy of her friendship with Sanskar. Swara had never dared to challenge her before. What had changed?

"What makes you think you can mess with me? And let me remind you, Swara, that Sanskar will never feel the same about you. You're nothing but his little lapdog," Kavita spat, yanking her hand away from Swara's grip.

"You don't need to worry about that," Swara retorted coolly, sidestepping past Kavita and giving her a firm shove with her shoulder as she passed.

"Swara, you damn bitch. This isn't over," Kavita spat out angrily, stomping her foot in frustration. She was about to pursue Swara when her best friend Kavya intervened, grabbing her arm to stop her.

"Kavita, honey, let it go. We'll handle her later. Right now, you have your swimming session. You're representing our club in the inter-athletics championship."

An hour later, Kavita, accompanied by a few of her loyal followers, strolled into the swimming court wearing bikinis adorned with elegant robes, their laughter echoing loudly as they watched something amusing on their phones.

"This is hilarious! I wonder who pulled this off." Kavita exclaimed with a grin.

"It's like the universe avenged you, Kavita. You should be thrilled," Kavya chimed in.

"Of course she can't. Just look ahead," an omega remarked, pointing disdainfully at Swara standing at the other end of the swimming court in her elegant swimwear.

"What an eyesore......." Kavita muttered irritably, striding purposefully towards Swara, followed closely by her entourage of omegas.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Kavita bellowed. As one of the top swimmers, this swimming court was her domain, and Swara's presence felt like an intrusion.

"What one can do at swimming court while wearing a swimsuit?" Swara countered, raising her eyebrows defiantly.

"You've got no shame, sticking around after all that's gone down," Kavya accused.

"What are you implying?" Swara was genuinely puzzled.

Another omega swiftly switched on her phone and displayed a video to Swara. Swara's heart sank as she watched her confession to Sanskar the previous evening, followed by his silent rejection, now circulating online.

"This never happened in my past life. How could things change without me doing anything?" Swara thought, feeling the tension grip her. A wave of insecurity washed over her, eroding her confidence slightly.

"Shameless bitch, still hanging around after Sanskar put you in your place."

"You've got the audacity to keep chasing after Sanskar like a pesky annoyance."

"What nonsense?" Swara couldn't take the humiliating remarks anymore.

"Look at that attitude," Kavya commented.

"They're right, aren't they? Why else would an aquaphobic like you be here in a swimsuit? Trying to seduce Sanskar, the water baby, with your swim bikinis?" Kavita taunted with a smirk as she noticed Sanskar walking in and standing a few meters away, facing Swara's back.

"Ridiculous. I'm not trying to seduce Sanskar or anyone," Swara declared with a hint of attitude, unaware of Sanskar's presence.

"Then what's with the swimsuit? Trying to score in the inter-athletics meet?"

"What are you on about, Kavita? That spot was yours. She couldn't beat you in her wildest dreams," Kavya goaded, intentionally provoking Swara.

"Of course I can..." Swara responded swiftly, her confidence unwavering. Kavita and her friends nailed it.

"Let's make a wager. The one who pulls off the highest dive wins and secures the spot in the athletic meet," Kavita proposed hastily, noticing Sanskar approaching them.

"If he gets involved, he'll stop Swara from getting in the water, and I'll miss my chance to teach this bitch a lesson," Kavita thought with hatred.

"Fine..."

"No, you can't do this...." Sanskar intervened urgently, cutting Swara off and pulling her arm to turn her around to face him.

"Oh gosh, what's he doing here? Did he overhear everything? Even if he did, I can't back down now," Swara thought, quickly pulling her arm from Sanskar's grip.

"Sanskar, can you please stay out of my affairs?" Swara said, meeting his gaze squarely, before turning on her heel and striding away.

Ten minutes later, Swara and Kavita stood on the highest platform, poised to jump. Behind them, Sanskar prepared himself, though still sulky about Swara's earlier attitude. However, he couldn't let her risk her life.

At the sound of the referee's whistle, they both plunged into the water, eliciting concerned shouts from some spectators. "She's struggling!"
"Help her!"
