Ash's POV

Meloetta just casually yawned after showing off herself to the other three contenders.

They have their different reactions at the sight, Serena gave off the usual shocked face, Miette was more than that, and Calem was sort of happy, excited, and joyful because what he said to Miette was true.

"I-It's really a Meloetta..." Miette managed to utter.

Well, it's not everyday you can gaze a legendary pokemon isn't it?

"You lot are interrupting my beautiful sleep."  Meloetta stated as she glared at the blue-haired girl.

Miette was genuinely taken aback.

"See?! This guy has legendary pokemons! About time you believe in me." Calem said proudly.

"Y-You really do have a legendary pokemon...no, mythical pokemon..." Miette muttered.

"I guess we can go down to business now?" I managed to say.

Since Diantha and Professor Sycamore have seen Meloetta already, it isn't much of their surprise anymore, but for Serena, it was another discovery for her.

Serena's POV

As soon as Meloetta appeared just out of nowhere, I was in complete shock and trance as I took sight of the beautiful Melody Pokemon.

They really own a mythical pokemon! Too bad they aren't using them for the tournament, but seeing them owning one means that they're really worthy trainers.

I now understand why Diantha had sent me to look for them, and now that I thought about it, Calem mentioned about the tournament four years ago, about a guy joining the tournament with legendary pokemons, at first, I didn't even believed it. I mean, a guy that has a team of legendary pokemons? That's ultimately ridiculous.

But now, seeing that beauty with them, I'm taking all of it back, and I'm now confident about this tournament.

"I guess we can go down to business now?" He said as he scratched his head.

Oops, we took their time just because of that quarrel.

"Ah, yes, right, please take your seats ladies and gentlemen." Diantha stated as she gestured her hand at the seats.

"Very well then, you three have been already informed about the tournament that's going to be held next week, am I correct?" Diantha asked the three, to which they nodded in response.

"That's good, Serena thank you for informing them." Diantha said, and I bowed in reply.

"I also assume that Professor Sycamore have already explained the mechanics of the tournament, did he?" Diantha asked, the three nodded again.

"Then with that being said, I want you six to form a team in order to perform a smooth teamwork while in the tournament." Diantha said.

"By the way Ash, Leaf, Koharu, thank you for accepting my invitation, it really means a lot to us." Diantha said, Calem, Miette and me nodded our head.

It's true, since the three of us are school representatives, we're the ones who were automatically assigned in some tournaments, but since the rules have changed, and it'll be a six versus six teamwork battle, we were taken aback and can't find another three that are fit for the role.

Trevor, Tierno and Shauna are still on their amateur part, so I wonder if they can handle a six versus six.

That being said, I wonder how things will turn out for these three here, I still don't know how they battle though.

Ash's POV

We got ourselves ready for some practice battles, Diantha suggested a three versus three battle in order to test each other's strength, and they agreed with that.

"Leaf, Koharu, are you both ready?" I asked the two girls.

"I'm completely hyped!" Leaf exclaimed in excitement.

"I think I'm getting rusty..." Koharu murmured.

"You'll do fine Koharu, it's just a year without battling." I encouraged her. She smiled in response and hugged me.

"I want to join too!" Leaf said and also hugged me, which was too tight.

We laughed it out and then got out final touches.

We entered the battlefield and---

"Woah I didn't even know we have spectarors." Those were the words that quickly came out from my mouth as we entered the field.

There are audiences cheering and roaring out the names of our opponent, well, it can't be helped.

"This is a three versus three battle between the challengers and the school representatives! Only one pokemon per trainer will be used, the first team to wipe out their opponent is the winner!" The commentator announced.

I wasn't expecting this, but oh well.

"Trainers, reveal your pokemon!"

"Delphox, please come out!"

"Chesnaught, I need your assistance!"

"Greninja, I'm counting on you!"

That being said, the three Kalos starters have been revealed in the battlefield, they have gained awes from the audiences.

"There's the trio! This is interesting, how will the challengers respond?!" The commentator stated.

I can notice Koharu and Leaf's excitement for this battle, and I'll be willing to assist them.

"Trio for trio, Gardevoir, come out!"

"Gardevoir, you too!"

"Gallade, please lend us a hand!"

Out came a normal colored Gardevoir, Gallade, and a Shiny Gardevoir. They stood magnificently on the battlefield.

"Wh-What is that Gardevoir?! I have never seen anything like it before!" The commentator yelled.

I can see the shocked faces of Miette and Serena, and Calem was more hyped to see my Gardevoir again.

"Battle begin!"

"We won't be intimidated by something like that! Greninja, Water Shuriken!" Miette called out first.

As soon as Miette said that, Greninja quickly reacted and attempted to hit the three with it's Water Shuriken.

"Gallade, deflect it!" Koharu yelled, Gallade did the job and easily repelled the incoming Water Shuriken.

"Now Delphox! Flamethrower!" Serena responded. Delphox had the chance to fire off it's Flamethrower through it's flames.

"Gardevoir, use Shadow Ball!"

"You too, Gardevoir, Moonblast!"

I had my Gardevoir fire off it's Shadow Ball while Leaf proceeded with the Moonblast. The moves collided with each other but the two attacks managed to overpower the Flamethrower and it went through it.

"Quick Chesnaught, Wood Hammer and protect Delphox!" Calem quickly reacted.

Chesnaught did it's job and went infront of Delphox, before deflecting both attacks with it's heavy duty Wood Hammer.

"All the pokemons are in par with each other! Everyone, witness the amazing battle being held right now!" It was the commentator who yelled through the stadium, everyone gave cheers and roars everywhere.

"Hey Ash! I wish you could show us something even great! You know we're the best battlers here!" Calem yelled out.

Right, the best battle who was defeated by me years ago.

"I agree with Calem, but so far so good, don't let us down!" Miette followed.

Koharu and Leaf commented nothing and just focused on the battle, well, same as me.

"Let's go offensive, Chesnaught, Rollout!" Calem called out.

"Delphox, assist with Shadow Ball!" Serena followed.

"Greninja, let's go offensive too and Night Slash!" Miette called out too.

Seems like everyone of them is really going offensive.

"Everyone, use Protect!" The three of us yelled out in unison.

The three Kalos starters have executed their moves and was about to hit out pokemons, but the Protect had been put up just before the moves were about to hit them.

"The attacks were deflected! How will our top competitors react to that?!" Asked the commentator in a loud voice.

"Aww, I was hoping that you guys will deflect it much more fancier." Miette said and then lowered her head.

I looked at the two girls and they quickly knew what I am referring to, they grinned and nodded before seriously looking at the other three.

"If a nice battle is all you want, then we'll give it to you!" I yelled out.

And with that, we've revealed our hidden pendants containing a familiar small orb on it.

"Wh- Is this what I think it is?!" The commentator yelled.

"Y-You've gotta be kidding me..." Calem muttered.

"There's no way that all three of them will..." Miette murmured.

"They're really worthy of the three spots..." Serena said in silence.

"Everyone, mega evolve!"
