Sorry guys, I had some internet issues, so I couldn't upload.

I hope you enjoy the chapter!

Kappanelle!? That's my mom! This is my mom's backstory", thought Steve astonished.

She continued. "Plan asked her if she wanted to go with us, but she didn't answer.

'She is very rare. It's the second time in the story of this shop that we have had a demon', the shopkeeper said.

'This demon is very special. Do you want to know why?', he asked, to what we both asked why.

'You see that she has silver hair? That's almost a corrupted', he pointed out.

We were very confused because we didn't know what a corrupted was, so he told us that corrupteds are demons that mutated due to strong emotions, and that that girl was a direct descendant of the first corrupted. The demon lord".

"Yooooo! I just received a huge load of lore", Steve thought astonished.

"Plan couldn't care less. He bought her, even at her huge price, because she was the only one that didn't reject the offer. The shopkeeper gave us two swords, because she used the two sword style.

At her first day with us she wasn't very talkative, having always a gloomy expression. She did what she was asked, but Plan always tried to talk to her, asking things like  where she was from or if she had a familly. She never answered.

Weeks passed like that. We explored dungeons, killed monsters, got stronger, and tried to talk to the two sworded demon."

In that moment, Steve's white soul got out of his body and got into her mind, leaving behind his body. Luckily, it seemed that his body didn't move, so she didn't notice.

"What the f just happened!?", Steve thought. He looked around, watching himself in a wooden house.

He looked at his hands and saw how they were translucent. "What? Did I die again?", he asked himself.

Then he saw a black haired man open the door of the room he was in.

"Hey Kap, do you wanna talk?", asked Plan, the tall black haired man.

"..."

"You still don't want to?", he asked

"..."

"Plan, stop trying. She won't answer", said Celta (the young version of the old woman). She had brown hair and brown eyes. She also had a sword in her belt.

"Well, whatever", replied Plan frustrated.

"Oooh! I'm in a flashback!", realized Steve, also assuming that they couldn't hear him.

"Where are we going today?", asked her already knowing that they will go either to a dungeon or to complete a mission.

"We are going shopping", he answered enthusiastically while grabbing his staff.

"I knew it... Wait what!?", she asked surprised.

"What I just said. There's a book that will be helpful", he replied opening the door.

Celta followed him waving at  Kappanelle who had been left behind.

Suddenly, when they were walking to the bookshop in the middle of a small village, "Hey, I still don't understand why we needed another party member", Celta pointed out.

Plan looked a little nervous when she said that. Then he blushed a little and said that they didn't.

"Why did we get a party member if we didn't need one?", Celta asked.

"Well... I'm not good at making friends... so I thought that if we got another party member I could make a new friend", he said nervously while playing with his fingers.

Celta looked at him in awe, followed by her hugging him and saying that he was cute, making him blush.

"H-hey, we are already in the bookshop", he pointed out.

"Oh, ok. Which book did you want you buy?", she asked looking at the books from the store.

"A book to learn magic. For you", he said nervously.

"A gift!?", she asked astonished

"Yes", he answered hugging her back.

"... will they stop flirting?", said Steve clearly disappointed.

They searched through the bookshop for a while, looking for books to learn magic. "Magic breakthroughs", "100 ways to cast fire", "Basic magic for begginers", were the books they saw, but Plan was looking for a specific one.

"Ah! Here it is!", he said excited when he spotted the book named "What you need to learn magic". It was a huge book, with a minimum of 500 hundred pages.

"Really? I have to read all that?", she asked terrified.

"No, no. It's just one phrase", he said reassuring her.

"Then why does it need all those pages?", she asked curiously.

"Nobody knows", he answered while buying the book.

"Wait... isn't that the book that said 'magic comes from a mental image?'", Steve pointed out to himself.

"It'll be a gold", said the shopkeeper followed by Plan giving the money.

"A GOLD COIN!?", Celta asked. "THAT'S TOO MUCH!", she pointed out.

"Don't worry, it's a good book", he said trying to calm her.

"Ok...", she said reluctantly.

After buying the book, they went back to their home, where Kappanelle was laying in her bed.

"Hi Kap!", Plan said with a warm smile. "We are going out this afternoon. There's a monster roaming around", he said to her.

"..."

Then Celta opened the book leaving enough space for Steve to read it. Then he read "Magic comes from a mental image" while Celta read "Magic comes from motivation".

"Wait... we read different things. How could it be?", asked Steve, then realizing that the book must show something different for each person. Like the requirement to get magic.

Steve didn't have so much time to think, because the three adults ran out of the house making him run behind them. This made Steve realize that he was attached to Celta in a 10 meter radius.

"Daaang! They're fast!", thought Steve while being dragged by the invisible rope that was between him and Celta.

They arrived at a huge building surrounded by people. It could be read "GUILD" above a huge white door. The three party members opened the door and Plan took a mission that said "kill the monsters nearby". Steve was able to know this because of the context, because all he saw were strange symbols.

After that, they went to a nearby forest where they looked for something to kill.

After an hour, they all were frustrated because no monsters appeared. Kappanelle just didn't show it.

Then, out of nowhere, a huge Stones golem appeared behind Kappanelle, not leaving time for her to protect herself.

After that, a huge spear went through the golem's left side of the chest, making it fall to the ground.

"Holy shit! My mom almost died! I bet she thought something like 'am I going to die here?'", Steve said, grateful that they couldn't hear him.

"Kap! Are you alright!?", asked Plan rushing to where she was.

"... yes", she mumbled, but somehow Plan was able to hear what she said.

"I'm happy to hear that!", he enthusiastically said, also happy because of her talking for the first time.

"Did she just talk!?", asked Celta not believing what she just saw.

"I... did", she timidly answered.

"Ooooh, I've got so many things to ask you, like where are you from, or how did you get here.", Celta said enthusiastically.

"Well, first let's go complete the mission", said Plan.

They spent another hour completing the mission, and when they went back to the guild, they had a broken golem core, and three wolf ears.

The receptionist gave them thirty rusty copper coins and they left to their home.

When they arrived, they sat at the table and Celta started bombarding Kappanelle with questions.

"Well... um", mumbled Kapanelle feeling dizzy for all the questions she asked.

"Hey, Celta. Stop. You are bothering her", Plan pointed out.

"Why do you interrupt meeee. I always wanted to talk to her", she complained, shaking her arms like a baby who wants a candy.

"Ok, ok. Talk to her, but chill out", he replied. "Ask her less questions"

The conversation between Celta and Kapanelle went like this:

"Where are you from?" "I'm from a demon village that's in the middle of the forest".

"How old are you?" "I'm sixteen".

"Why didn't you talk?" "Because I didn't know if I could trust you. I mean, you literally bought me." "That makes sense".

"Why are you talking now?" "Because since you saved me from that golem I know that you didn't buy me as a disposable asset".

"How did you end up as a slave?". This last question made the atmosphere tense up. Kappanelle didn't reply for a while until she asked: "Do you really want to know?".

"Yes. I do", Celta answered.

"Will I get a flashback inside of a flashback!?", Steve thought almost laughing.

"Well, it's a long story. In my village there's a kid I know since I was a baby. We grew up together and we always spent time together. His father is a magician, the most powerful of the whole village. He really admires his father and the magic he uses.

One day, he decided to ask his father to teach him magic, training everyday to be able to use it. But then, to the surprise of everyone in the village, we came to know that he was affected by a strange condition: Broken mana circle.".

"I've never heard of that ", Celta and Plan said at the same time.

"It makes you unable to use magic", she explained.

"He soon sank into sadness. He was frustrated that he couldn't become someone like his father, whom he admired so much.

After that, I realized that he needed money to buy the medicine in a nearby village, but in that village we don't have money, like you do.

That's why I decided to sell something to save him. The problem was that I didn't know what to sell since we didn't have valuable things. That's why I decided to sell myself.". Then, she, with a nostalgic smile, said: "He was so against it, but I did it anyways".

...

"Oh my god! I wasn't expecting that", Steve said amazed.

"Hey, Kap. I want you to know that you can go back to your village whenever you want to", Plan said trying to make her calm down.

"Do you mean it?", Kap asked as her eyes got watery.

"Yes", answered Plan with a calm expression.

"Wrilly (really)", she asked almost crying.

Plan and Celta answered "Yes, of course we will" at the same time.

In that moment, tears started coming out of Kapanelle's eyes. She put her hands on her face and kept crying. "Danc diou (Thank you)", she said between her tears.

When Plan, Celta and Steve saw that, they immediately went to hug her to comfort her, but Steve passed through her.

"Oh. I forgot that I was a ghost", said Steve watching how the other two people strongly hugged his mother.

After some time, his mother had calmed down, and she said that she was sorry for crying, but that had caught her off guard.

"Don't worry. We are happy you can feel comfortable with us", said Plan comforting her.

From that moment on, Kappanelle became more talkative, supporting the group no longer in a reluctant way. She said that she would stay some time to experience more of the world.

On the other side, Steve was bored of not being able to do anything. He still was a ghost in Celta's memories. Every time Celta went to shower he had to close his eyes not to see.

And like that, two month's (166 days) passed. Celta's party became more popular and her, who still couldn't use magic, and Plan became closer than ever. They were now compromised and expecting a child.

Kappanelle now was the most popular member of the party, and she was now known as "the lightning" for her outstanding speed. People often tried to call her attention admiring her beauty and her silver hair, but she only talked openly with her two friends. She asked Plan to put a spell on her to hide her horns, so people didn't know she was a demon.

Some days later, they entered a discussion. Kappanelle said that they should retire so they could take care of the baby, but the other two still wanted to work because they enjoyed the adventuring.

After discussing it, they agreed that that would be their last month, completing two missions a week. They would be increasing the difficulty of the missions each week to make it more fun.

The first week was easy, they just had to collect some medicinal herbs. They had agreed that they would start with the easiest missions to remember the time when they started. It was easy because Plan now could detect the herbs with his magic.

The second week also was easy. They have to scout the area where they had found the golem. Kappanelle was really helpful with this quest because she was familiar with the terrain. She said that her village was inside the forest. There they found some small golems but they held themselves from fighting because they wanted to save it for when they had a mission for that.

The third week, the next one, and the other one were also easy. They only had to hunt weak monsters like wolfs and the small golems they had found. They were really sturdy, but it wasn't much of a problem.

The sixth one was a little bit difficult. They went to the same forest but there were a lot of monsters. Mostly goblins and huge golems. The goblins alone were no problem for them, but the golems were really strong.

The next week they did the same, but each time they got further into the forest they found more monsters. They now found a new type of golem. It was a slim one, but really fast. They were almost as fast as Kapanelle, but they somehow managed to win.

All those days, Steve was singing a spanish kids song that he had learned. "One elefante se balanceaba sobre la tela de una araña, como veía que resistía fueron a llamar a otro elefante", he sang, adding one elephant each time he sang it. Since he was a ghost, he couldn't sleep, so he sang that song twenty four hours a day. He was already past the ten thousand elephants.

The first day of eighth week they went to the same place, but they didn't find any monster. "Where are they?", Kap asked, to what Plan and Celta replied with an "I don't know". They looked for them for the whole day but they couldn't find them.

On the second one, they continued their search, until Kappanelle said that she found something. She showed them that behind some trees there was a cave, one with a huge entrance and rocks surrounding it. From it, some golems and goblins were coming out, so the party rushed to attack them. Steve felt that he had seen that place before, but he couldn't remember.

"Do you know what this is?", asked Celta excited.

"It's a dungeon!", answered Plan and Steve's mother at the same time.

In that moment, Steve realized what he was seeing. It was the dungeon he was in, but many years in the past.

A lot of questions crossed Steve's mind, like why was the dungeon open, where were the golems in the dungeon, and he just realized that Celta looked really young, so he wondered how was it possible that she looked so much older than his mother in the present time. He thought of so many things that he forgot how many elephants he had counted, which made him swear.

In that moment, the party, comformed by Plan, Celta and Kapanelle, entered the dungeon, venturing to the uknown, with Steve behind them bored and frustrated because of his lost count.
