Walking out of the backrooms of the Adventurer's Hall, Kaida was still left with so many questions racing through her mind. Was she Ashura or Kaida? Who was the real Kaida Mytheria? Is she really a hero?
Breaking away from that train of thought, Kaida pulled out the document from her barrel bag so she could look over it. The piece of paper held all of the information she had known about herself and much more. Looking over it, she learned Kaida was only 16, which just confirmed her suspicions about being in some game since most anime follow teenagers that are in way over their head.
Putting the document away, Kaida started to think about what an adventurer's life would entail instead of trying to figure out the answers to her other questions. But as she did so, she heard a rush of footsteps from behind her. Turning around, Kaida saw Laurentia running out of the back room with a small bag in her hands.
"I almost forget to give you these." She said stoically as if the two didn't have a conversation about reincarnation or heroes just a moment ago. "Here are leather bracers, boots, and an identification card. With that card, you should be let into nearly any major city." She said as she handed Kaida each of the items she had named.
Leaving once again, Laurentia went back to work with her own thoughts on her mind while Kaida put her card in her bag and slipped on the boots and bracers she was given, adding a few more pounds to her small frame. With all of her belongings either worn or stowed away in her bag, Kaida followed Umbra through the tavern portion of the building while he flew above everyone, turning a few heads toward him while he did so. Eventually, Kaida got out of the larger crowd, allowing her to see Zach and Zeke looking at one of the many boards filled with posters.
Walking over to them, she tapped Zeke on the shoulder since Zach's shoulder might require her to stand on the tip of her toes. "Hmm?" Zeke hummed as he turned to face Kaida and seemed surprised to see her. "Oh, you're finally done." He said, drawing Zach's attention to them.
"What were you guys doing?" She asked curiously as Zach kept his hand on one of the posters on the board.
"We were picking out our next quest." The older brother had answered as he plucked the poster he was holding onto off the wall. "We just decided on hunting down a goblin camp. It should help us gain a level or two."
Nodding in understanding, Kaida followed the two brothers back through the crowd, making sure to keep Umbra flying above them as a guide. Getting out of the tavern portion, the three went to Laurentia who stamped the poster with only a glance at them and telling them to be careful.
With their next quest assigned, the small group left the busy Adventurer's Hall but stopped right in front of the doors of the building. When they had stopped, Zach turned to look at Kaida and her two beasts. "Kaida, is it okay if you wait for us at the northern gate?"
"Sure," she replied before she remembered something very important. "Where exactly is that?"
"Just head north and look for the big gate." He replied while he pointed north toward a big gate built into the wall around the city. Then, getting ready to part ways for a little while, Zach saw Zeke running through the city already. "We'll see you soon!"

After a little more than half an hour, Zach and Zeke had met back up with Kaida, but both of them now carried a leather satchel with a faintly drawn seal on it. Ignoring it, the group showed the city guards their identification cards before heading north for the next two hours. During those two hours, they made some small talk and taught Kaida a few things about how she should act and how the village they were heading to would work.
Eventually, Kaida ended up riding on Silver's back again for the last stretch of the walk. While she was riding on Silver's back, the group arrived at Evergreen village, where the goblin camp was supposedly attacking.
At the gate, no one was on guard, though there were two people walking on top of the wall, supposedly on patrol but they were just talking to each other. Quite the low-quality security, but none of them seemed to care too much about the two guards since they would most likely be blamed for allowing the goblin attacks to reach the village.
Once the group reached the gate, they saw the guards still chatting away without even noticing them. So, Zeke just cracked open the gate and the guards still ignored the large creaking from the rusty hinges. "Wow, they're the worst guards I've ever seen." The blonde adventurer said amazed as he held the door open for the rest of his party.
"Definitely." Agreed Zach, walking through the gate as he did so. "But let's see if there's a tavern or any place for us to stay in for the rest of the night." He said as Zeke ran off in search of a place to stay. "Let's get going, Kaida."
Nodding, Kaida stopped using Silver as her personal transit and walked alongside Zach while Umbra decided to stretch out his wings again, so he flew above them while Silver kept a meter or so behind the group. And after a few minutes of walking, Zeke ran up to them before leading them to a tavern. At the tavern, the brothers got a room together and provided Kaida her own room with an extra bed for her beasts to comfortably rest, as per her request.
When Kaida entered her room, she put her bag down and sat down on the bed. "Okay... I'm going to kill goblins tomorrow," she muttered to herself, trying to plan something out for tomorrow. "Nope. I'm not ready for this." She said to herself as she gripped her hair, pulling at it. But as she did that, she got a sniff of her armpits. Let's just say the closest thing she got to a shower since arriving on Gaia was a dip in a lake with fish actively living in it. "Oh, I'll just take a shower, that'll get my mind off all of this stuff!"
Leaving her room, Kaida left her beasts on the extra bed in her room while she went to find somewhere to take a shower, but it might be better if she could take a bath. In the end, she couldn't find anything of the sort and the sun was starting to set into the horizon. So, she devised another solution and asked the bartender at the tavern if there was a public bathhouse in the village. Luckily, he told her there was and gave her directions to get to it.
With his directions, Kaida grabbed a spare change of clothes and let both of her tamed beasts out for a breath of fresh air.
Arriving at the bathhouse, Kaida wasn't surprised to see a few people on each side, but most people might be surprised when she wasn't hit with one of the many cliches that happened when a man would be trapped into a woman's body.
Taking a long bath, Kaida finally had a chance to relax and unwind without the craziness of this world interrupting the moment. And though the bathhouse was on the smaller side, Kaida drifted away from all the other women and looked at the night sky so she could think to herself in peace.
"I've been sent to this world with no chance of returning home. Now I'm going to be killing monsters for a living." She spoke to herself as Umbra watched from a tree branch, making sure to keep on eye on her. "This isn't a fantasy out of the ordinary, but... now that I'm actually living it... I don't want to be here." She said as she quickly dumped her head into the water out of frustration before pulling herself out and staring at her reflection. "Kaida Mytheria, you and I are in for one big, long adventure. And that is not an innuendo."
Too bad that wasn't the end of this chapter though.
When Kaida had finished her bath, she used one of the few clean towels that the bathhouse had provided to clean herself up. Then she had dressed in the clothes she was wearing before once she had realized that she didn't know when she would be able to do laundry or whatever the equivalent to it was in this world.
So, with a set of clothes in one hand, Kaida left the bathhouse as Umbra and Silver joined her side, seemingly coming from nowhere. "Thanks for waiting, you two." She said as she only got a bark and a yip in return.
Accepting the noises as their form of acknowledgment, Kaida kept walking back toward the tavern for a few minutes until she heard the sound of low and raspy breathing nearby. Immediately as Kaida turned to face the sound, Umbra shot a fireball into an alleyway, scorching the ground as a warning shot.
Stepping closer to Kaida, Silver started to growl as three small creatures walked out of the alleyway. Out of the alley, three goblins appeared, each with green skin and small, yellow, spherical eyes. But each of them shared another feature: black energy around their body.
Instinctually, Kaida was going to run away, but a voice rang out in her head. "Ashura, allow me to take control for a moment." The voice said in Kaida's soft voice.
"Who are you?" She asked the voice as Umbra flew toward the goblins and spat a fireball into the face of one of the goblins only for it to be deflected by one of the goblin's hands that were covered in the mysterious black energy.
"I am Kaida Mytheria and I will help you right now, but you may have a slight headache afterward." The voice answered.
All of the sudden, Umbra was punched by the goblin he had tried to scorch and sent into the dirt road. "Just do it!" Kaida shouted in fear as she felt some unknown force close her eyes.
When she opened her eyes again, her golden eyes glowed brighter than before and her hair took on a much glossier look than before, making it look silver instead of white.
"Silver, correct?" Kaida asked, getting Silver's attention on her instead of the goblins that were attacking them. "Get ready to carry me to the tavern. You'll know when." She told him as he gave a low growl as confirmation. "Nexus, return my previous settings and give me their stats."

"Just as I thought," Kaida said as she quickly took on a fighting stance. "Weak."
