Rehman POV

"Kal raat ke baad bhi akal nahi aayi hai aapko?"

"You still have not got the lesson after the last night?"

She blushed hard, hearing me, and I could not help but leave her hand before saying.

"Come on, let's go. Everyone must be waiting for us," I said, and she lowered her gaze.

And I could not look away from her. She looked breathtaking in the light pink attire. The way her eyes shone brightly in my presence, the crimson on her cheeks, and the way she smiled today were infectious. I could not help smiling.

The rest of the walk through the garden was silent, and as soon as we reached the slightly crowded place, she pulled her hand out of mine.

I looked at her with surprise.

"Ammijaan is coming," she said, and I looked ahead to notice Ammijaan walking towards us.

"Salam Ammijaan," I wished her, stepping ahead and taking her hand to kiss her knuckles. She replied with a Salam and kissed my forehead.

"Mashallah, Aaj to hamari subah haseen kardi aap dono ne. Kaha ghoom rahe the?"

"Mashallah, you both have brightened my morning. Where were you roaming?" she asked.

"Salam Ammijaan," Rehana wished her as well and kissed her knuckles, too. Ammijaan kissed her forehead, and I replied.

"Beri ke bagh dikha rahe the Rehana ko. Inhe achi lagti hai,"

"I was showing Berries' garden to Rehana. She likes it," I said, and Ammijaan smiled, looking at both of us.

"May Allah bless you," she said and carried a wide smile on her face.

"How is hand now? Bete," Ammijaan asked Rehana, and Rehana brought her hand up to show her.

"Like this, Ammijaan. " Does it look better?" she asked in a cute voice, and I could not help smiling as I looked at her.

"Wow! This is healing really fast," Ammijaan said, and she smiled.

"Jaan-e-Jahan took really good care of me," and the moment she said those words in front of Ammijaan, I could not help but feel warm in my cheeks.

How could she call me that in front of her?

"Oh! Well, I'm proud to hear that, Jaan-e-Jahan," Ammijaan said, and I could not help but laugh embarrassedly and nod.

"I should go," I chuckled, and Ammijaan smiled while Rehana squinted her brows.

"Ammijaan, he is only my Jaan-e-Jahan. But, of course, his name is not really good. So, you can use that, too," she said, and I looked away, trying to increase my speed and disappear anywhere.

I panted hard, not because I walked like a sprint, but because I could not believe she said all that in front of my mother.

Urghhhh.

But, a part of me felt really good as she was so innocent and cute. She had everything in her mouth, whatever was happening in her heart. She had a pure soul.

"Rehman," suddenly, Abbujaan's voice caught my attention, and I looked up at him. He had lazy eyes; he could not even open them.

"Salam, Abbujaan," I wished him, and he nodded, placing his arm around my shoulder.

"Salam,"

I could sense him walking a little crippled.

"What happened?" I asked as I helped him walk towards the nearest couches in the garden's corner.

"Do not ask. As a punishment, I was pushed off the bed in the middle of my sleep. And, got my knee hurt," he said, sitting down on the couch and arched his head back against the headrest while closing his eyes tiredly.

"You should have slept a little more," I said, and he shook his head.

"She would kill me," he said, crying out in pain and caressing his knee.

I could not help but chuckle.

"Why is she punishing you whenever you drink?" I asked, sitting beside him, and he smiled lazily.

"I made a mistake after getting drunk. I crossed my line, and since then, she does not like me to drink and punish me if I ever do," he said, and I nodded.

"What mistake?" I could not stop myself from asking, and his smile grew even wider, and he shook his head.

"You do not need to know, my child," he said and caressed my shoulder.

"Okay," I said, and he inhaled deeply.

"You know, I and your father were fighting this war. And, before that, we had not touched the alcohol. But, in that war, we promised to each other that we would drink and celebrate after winning it. And he asked me to celebrate even if he would not make it. And I asked him the same. I asked him to be everyone he deserved to become; he wanted to be, and God played. He left, and his last promise remained with me. I did not want to oversee his last wish, so I celebrated," he said, and I noticed the pain in his voice.

And, suddenly, he looked at me.

"You have taken after him, Rehman. Your face, your habits, your silence, your calmness. It is all Shah Haider's. And I know you did not drink or smoke last night. And I really adore you for that. I am proud of you," he said, and I lowered my gaze as he caressed my back and pulled me into a tight hug.

"Hamare Abbu to aap hi hai, Abbujaan. Hum to sirf aapko jaante hai. Aap humse esi baate na kiya kare, hume lagta hai aap hume khud se door kar rahe hai,"

"You are my Abbu, Abbujaan. I only know you. Please do not talk like this to me; it makes me feel like you are pushing me away," I said in an emotional voice, and he chuckled.

"You will always be my first and most sensible child," he said, and I smiled.

"By the way, are you taking good care of my daughter-in-law's hand?" he asked, and I chuckled, nodding.

"Yes, she is getting better," I said, and he smiled.

"That is good to hear," he said, and I nodded.

I did not know whether to tell him about that coin thing. A part of me did not want to tell him, as he deserved to know, and I felt suspicious about it. But others felt that that was just a mere coincidence, and Rehana always had that coin with her and did not know.

Also, if it were nothing, Abbujaan would get worried for nothing.

And I did not want that.

"Good morning," suddenly, we both looked up at sleepy Haider and Agastya walking in. Agastya had a baby in his hand.

"Good Morning, Sultan," he wished, and they both sat down in front of me. I gazed at the nearby attendee and signaled him to bring breakfast for them.

"So, what was the punishment?" Abbujaan asked, looking at them, and Haider rolled his eyes before closing them and pushing his head against the headrest.

"Silence for another year," he said, and I chuckled softly.

"Violence for another year with words," Agastya said, caressing his baby, and I stood up and held his baby.

"How old is he? What's his name?" I asked, taking him into my arms. His eyes were wide open, staring at me, and I smiled, gently shaking him playfully.

"He turned one a few months ago. And, his name is Ranjeet Anirudh Dev Singh," he said and added. "Ani, with love,"

"Oh, hey, Ani," I called him, and he immediately smiled.

"Oh, my baby, why are you so up early this morning?" I asked, gently tapping his back and walking around a little.

And suddenly, Abhinandan, Rudra, Aahil, and Ranvijay also walked toward us. Abhinandan was half asleep and had his boys by his side. Aahil had Rahil. Rudra was taking care of both his girl and boy. He held his boy, and the girl walked silently behind. Ranvijay had both his babies in his hands.

"Aggguuu-sa," suddenly, Rudra's girl jumped, finding Agastya there, and ran to him.

He immediately held her in his hand. And I noticed Abhinandan's boys sitting with him as well.

"Kaaakshaaaaa," Ranvijay's babies called him. And she started crying loudly when he pushed Rudra's girl aside to take the Ranvijay kids.

"Come here, my babies," Rudra said, giving his son to Abbujaan, taking both of Ranvijay's children and staring at his daughter.

"You better learn sharing, Rudraja," he said, taking the empty place.

We all played with the children while having breakfast together.

"Rudra, how many sticks you got on your back?" Abbujaan asked, and Rudra shook his head.

"Sultan, thirty-two, just because of you. And I did not even touch the drink. See, I never lost a war, but getting myself beaten by my wife just overlying for some fun," he said, pulling his lower a little up to show the marks of the stick.

Everyone laughed.

"Good, you deserve that because you made my daughter Nandani cry," Abbujaan said, and he smiled.

"And you, Abhinandan?" Abbujaan asked, looking at him, and Abhinandan shook his head.

"Do not ask, Phupha-sa. I will have to sleep on the couch for the rest of my life," he said, and suddenly, one of his sons ran to Abbujaan.

"Daadu-sa. Can we stay here always?" he asked, and I chuckled.

"You do not even have to ask. This is all yours," Abbujaan said, his eyes widening as he looked at his twin brother.

"Bhai-sa, we get it," he said, and we all laughed.

The conversations and the fun continued until the announcement preparations were completed.

"Rehman," suddenly Abbujaan called me and smiled.

"You should go and bring Begum Rehana to the Public Diwan. We all are waiting for you there," he said, and I nodded, smiling at him.

Excusing myself from them, I came back to my chamber, and the moment I stepped in, I found havoc in it.

There were so many attendees walking around. A part of me immediately ran inside to find Rehana.

And the moment I found her drinking water was while ordering for the attendees. I took a breath of peace.

"No, no, no, no, do not keep that here," she said, pointing at the attendees moving the couch from its place.

What the hell was happening?

I noticed the furniture positions in different places and shook my head.

"No! What the hell are you doing? I said, keep that couch near the bed. What if Jaan-e-Jahan wants to sit while talking to me?" she said, and I noticed her hair tied in a huge bun. She had thrown her dupatta somewhere and was running from here and there, ordering them.

And then, I really felt like stopping all of it.

"Takhliya,"

"Privacy," I said, and they all looked at me.

"Jaan-e-Jahan, no," she said, marching towards me. I looked at the attendees, and they all started walking out. One of them closed the door before leaving us alone, and she looked at me with frustrated brows.

"What are you doing?" I asked, and she sighed, placing her head on my chest lazily.

"I am decorating our chamber," she said, lifting her gaze to me, and I gently wrapped my hand around her waist and caressed the side of her waist.

"Why? Is it not decorated enough?" I asked, and she clicked her tongue with frustration.

"No, I want my things here. I want my books here; I want my things here. And am I here as a guest? Is this chamber not mine?" she asked in a cute voice, and I chuckled softly.

"Bache, it's yours. But do you not think you should prioritize preparing for the function and do this later? Or maybe after you get your hand completely healed?" I suggested, and she shook her head.

"No, Ammijaan said that this Sultanate is mine as much as yours. I should be taking charge of it, like managing its administration, hosting our guests, and decorating it as I want. So, I want to decorate our chamber first," she said, explaining to me, and I could not help but try to hide my smile.

"Just today? When are you supposed to be present in the function?" I asked, and she rolled her eyes.

"It would not take much time. You see, if you had not interrupted, they would have finished by now," she said, and I looked around to see the bed pulled away from its place and the mattresses were kept aside. The carpets were pulled off from their place. And everything was not where it was.

"Yes, I can see. It would have taken just a few moments like this," I snapped, and she looked at me with an upset face.

"Jaan-e-Jahan, pleaseeeeeee," she said and leaned against me, losing all of her weight, and I smiled, gently caressing the side of her hips.

"Rehana, you need to get ready. Everyone is waiting for us. And we are late," I said, and she immediately straightened up.

"For what?" she asked, and I shook my head in disbelief.

"You do not remember. I told you that we have to meet the common people as Sultan and Mallika," I reminded her, and she knit her brows.

"Just now?" she asked, immediately looking at herself and running towards the couch to grab her dupatta.

"I thought it was in the evening," she said, and I sighed deeply.

"Oh, my stupid brain," she breathed to herself and draped her dupatta around her chest and looked at me.

"Okay?" she asked, referring to herself.

And I shook my head and clapped twice to call the attendees.

They walked inside, and I ordered.

"Get her ready quickly. Change into something heavy and royal. Take care of her hand," I ordered. She went inside the changing area, and I looked around to realize that my life would never be the same.

I waited until she came outside after a long time.

And the moment I looked at her in a beautiful dark blue-colored attire adorned with jewels, my breath hitched.

"See, I am ready within in a few moments," she said, swirling around, and I smiled, looking at her.

"Yes, I can see," I said, and she walked towards me.

It was a beautiful sharara. Her eyes glowed differently in that color. And the shiny jewelry was doing nothing but making me feel dry in my throat.

I could not forget whatever happened last night. And, while praying in the morning, I could not help but feel as if I had committed a sin.

And it was something I could not even ask or discuss with anyone.

"Let's go," she said, looking at me, and I nodded.

"By the way, you are looking okay as well," she said, and I immediately burst into laughter.

"What?" I asked, and she smiled.

"Yes, I mean the way you are looking at me. I can tell that you are praising how beautiful I look in this. So, I told you that you look good as well," the way she explained, I could not help but laugh even more.

How could she be so cute?

"Jaan-e-Jahan," suddenly she stopped holding my hand, and I turned around to look at her.

Her smile had vanished, and she pulled me closer to her slowly.

"Aap haste hue bhot ache lag rahe hai. Aapko nazar na lag jaye,"

"You look so beautiful while laughing. I hope you do not get the evil eyes," she said, and I shook my head.

"This kind of thing does not exist," I said, pulling her hand, and we both walked through the galleries to reach the public court.

By the time we reached, everyone was sitting in their place. Suddenly, Rehana's palm turned sweaty as she approached the throne.

It faced the balcony, and the people stood on the open ground, looking up at us.

"What happened?" I asked in a low voice, and she shook her head and lowered her gaze.

"Come," I breathed without any mouth movement, taking her closer to the balcony.

And as soon as we stepped closer to the balcony, thousands of people raised their hands and looked up at us.

"Sultan Rehman Sulaiman," the echo of their lifted off the ground and sent a shiver of pride and responsibility in me.

"Jindabad," they screamed at the top of their lungs.

"Sultan Rehman Sulaiman,"

"Jindabad,"

"Sultan Rehman Sulaiman,"

"Jindabad,"

"Sultan Rehman Sulaiman,"

"Jindabad,"

I showed up my palm to stop them and inhaled deeply before beginning to speak.

"Aapke pyaar or duao ke hum hamesha se shukrguzaar rahe hai. Jis quadar hamari kaum ne hume apnaya jab hum yaha aaye, hamara saath diya, uske liye hum tahe dil se aapka shukriya ada karte hai. Or jesa ki aap sab jaante hai ki ab Sultanate me aapka dhyan rakhne ke liye kewal Sultan nahi balki Mallika bhi aa chuki hai, to hamari aapse iltzaa hai ki jo mohobbat aapne hume bakshi hai, jo duae aap hume dete hai, jo izzat aap hamari karte hai, vo aap hamari Begum, Rehana Sultan, Mallika-e-Sultanate ki bhi kare,"

"I have always been grateful for your love and prayers. The way our people have embraced me since I arrived and supported me, I wholeheartedly thank you for that. And as you all know, now in the Sultanate, not only the Sultan but also the Mallika has arrived, so I hope that the love you have bestowed upon me, the blessings you give me, and the respect you show me, you will extend the same to my Begum, Rehana Sultan, Mallika-e-Sultanate," I said in a loud voice, and they all listened carefully.

I wrapped my arm around Rehan and looked at her blushing face.

She gestured a Salam to them, and the moment they began cheering for her, her eyes widened with shock.

"Mallika-e-Sultanate,"

"Jindabad,"

"Mallika-e-Sultanate,"

"Jindabad,"

"Mallika-e-Sultanate,"

"Jindabad,"
